The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It was one of those weeks where my days were all off. I had a fever and felt like crap the first part, but then was fine after a couple days. It would be nice if everything would pause will I’m sick, but nooo. At least I was able to read one book. Hey, that’s one more than the previous week. π I also went to see an adaption of Dracula at the theater, which was really good.
Rashika at The Social Potato wrote a post called How to Write a Review in 13 Steps. I got a good laugh out of it, because it’s so freaking accurate!
On the Blog
- Saturn Run by John Sandford (review) – Loved this adult sci-fi thiller.
- Loving Dallas by Caisey Quinn (review) – Really enjoyed it!

Cam Girl by Leah Raeder

For Review:
So, I wasn’t really paying attention when I grabbed Bone Labyrinth, only thought the blurb sounded really good. I realized it’s the 11th book in the series after I downloaded it. I hate, hate jumping into a series like that, so we’ll see how it goes.
Purchased:
You know me and price drops. And on Saturday, Amazon’s daily deals were a bunch of ‘spooky’ books, some that were already on my wishlist.
What I’m Listening To
Hello! Adele’s new song is here and I have it on repeat!! I’m so happy to hear new music from her gorgeous voice again.
Have a great week!

Can that Beeyotch be any more beautiful? Blech…. I’ll take her nose and lips, please! Yep, have those sent right over and installed. While you’re at it, take a belt sander to my complexion, too. I AM SO KIDDING! I rock for 46!!
I literally stopped and bought The Offer. I’m going to read that post on how to write a review b/c I could use all the help I can get π Woooooo, I need sleep!!!

-sigh- I know, she’s gorgeous. And yes, you do.
Haha … the post isn’t a serious ‘how to’, but it’s very true.
I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKED THE POST! It had been on my mind for a while but I was a little worried that the majority wouldn’t be able to relate to my experiences… I am happy that wasn’t the case :))
Omg, Amazon went crazy with the deals this weekend. I had a hard time not buying anything (I have wayyy too much to read *cries*) I am so excited to see One Past Midnight in your haul, though and hope you really like it! π I’ve also heard amazing things about The Girl With All the Gifts and hope you enjoy that one too! Given what I’ve heard about it, I imagine it would be a great read for this time of the year! π
Also, thanks for sharing Hello! I’ve been meaning to listen it for the past day or so but was too lazy to actually look it up because I am a weirdo. Is it just me or is it different from a lot of the songs from 21? I LIKE IT THOUGH. She has such a great voice!
Have a fantastic week, Christy! π
Saturn Run sounds good, I haven’t heard of that one. A good sci fi thriller… I have a hard time finding good sci fi , or maybe I’m just too picky.
Have a great week, and enjoy the reads!

Saturn Run was really good, but it’s more realistic sci-fi. Or whatever you want to call it.

I hate it when I get a new book not realizing it’s way down in a series. Hopefully, it will still be enjoyable, Christy!
I hope you’ll feel better, and that next week will only have ‘on’ days π

I’ve heard Sleeping Giants is really good! Amazon price drops are the best for a bargain, I’ve read The GIrl with all the Gifts, I hope you enjoy it! It’s perfect for Halloween.

That’s my first listen to Hello and I LOVE it! Adele’s voice is just so unique and I love her music. Sorry to hear you weren’t well.

I love her voice too. Soooooooo much! I can’t wait to see what else she puts out.
Glad you are feeling better and I hope you enjoy your new reads. I hate jumping into the tail end of a series, but maybe it will be okay.

I sure hope so. I hate feeling like I’ve missed something or not have the full picture.
I really liked The Girl with all the gifts…I didn’t think I would but it was very original. I could happily see that as a film! There’s nothing worse than when you feel like crap and can’t get rid of it. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hello! That song. I’m in love. I must’ve listened to it 15 times on Friday. I really enjoyed The Offer. I hope you do, too. One of these days I need to read Claire Contreras’ series. Soon.
Have a great week!

I’m in love with Adele, period. lol. I have no doubt I’ll enjoy The Offer since I love everything by Halle.
Both my god?! I love John Sandford and didn’t know he wrote Sci Fi, or is that a first?
Hope you’re feeling better now. Everything seems crappy when you’re unwell.
Twitter: i.
This was the first Sandford book I’ve read, but I understand this is his first dabble in sci-fi. It’s definitely thriller-ish too, though.

Glad you’re feeling better!! I had a one book week myself – and it was the same book π Can’t wait to see what you thought of it. I also got sucked into some price drops on amazon. I tried some restraint but didn’t really work! LOVE Adele’s new song. So happy we get to have new music from her again. Have a great week!

Lots of awesome new books. I just picked up two by Rollins that I hadn’t read yet. I must be busy if I missed them! Have a wonderful new week and glad you are feeling better.

Thanks, Laura. Have you read any of Rollin’s books from this series? I’m just wondering how it’ll do as a standalone.
Twitter: laurathomas61
I’ve read most of them. I just picked up The 6th Extinction Saturday. You can read them as standalones. The author clues you in on who is who and what they do. I love all of his books and already started the one I just grabbed. I think I might have missed one or two others before it and will grab them when I see them.

Feel better and have a good week!

Such pretty new books! And being sick you should definitely load up on new books to make yourself feel better! Hopefully you’ll be able to just jump into Bone Labyrinth without having read the others. It always makes me a bit nervous too. I love the new Adele song! I hadn’t realized how much I missed her until that came out. Have a great week!

Rashika’s post was cute. I mostly procrastinate b/c I would rather be reading a book, or sleeping than writing about it.
I don’t think of my reviews as reviews so much as posts on how I feel about the books.

Those weeks were nothing goes right are the worst :(. I hope you’re feeling better and the next week will be a good one. And that’s nice you still got one book read.
Guess I am the exception, when I sit down to write a review I write my review and schedule it and only then get distracted by other things again.
Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

I hate jumping in on a 2nd or 3rd book in a series, which I’ve done recently. Luckily, they turned out to be something that could be read as a standalone. Is this the case here? Good luck with your new book! I don’t know if I could jump in on the 11th book in a series.
