SundayPost

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Christmas is only a couple weeks away! And then a new year … noooo!

I know I already mentioned this on Facebook, but I’m still so damn happy. My son was awarded All-American at the cross country banquet! It was his goal since freshman year, and he reached it. Now on to track season!

I read 16 books in November, but a couple of them were on the shorter side. So I’ll make my goal of 170 – I increased it from 95 in June.

Okay, while I was on Thanksgiving break, I binged on The 100. I watched 18 episodes in eight days. That’s totally healthy, right? It’s not the best, but it’s addictive as hell. Do you watch it?

On the Blog

  • Nocte by Courtney Cole: Review – I liked this twisty thriller/mystery a lot.
  • Sweet Damage by Rebecca James: Review – Another good psychological thriller.

Books Read

Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover – Loved it!

Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol

Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews

I actually got a lot more than this over the last two weeks, especially freebies, but I don’t feel like posting them all. I blame Jennifer for most of them, so you can find them here.

I remember when The DUFF first came out and it had such mixed reviews. The movies looks funny, though! So now I plan to read the book.

Have a great week!

  1. Congrats to your son! He’s had a fantastic season from what it seems.

I’ve been curious about The 100, but I tend to shy away from tv so I haven’t watched any yet. We’re canceling our Netflix on the 21st, so binge watching is our way of life right now.

  2. Great week, looks like you had some great weeks. I plan to start the Ilona Andrews series soon, probably on audio. I haven’t watched The 100 yet but I plan to. And binge watching series is the only way I do it! One weekend I haven’t seen any of it and by Monday morning, I’m on about series 3 of something. Hahaha. I don’t do it often but when I do, I love it!

  3. I really like the look of The DUFF as well–mainly because it looks hella funny. I also do plan to read the book, though some said that the movie didn’t look like it was going to be that much like the book, so I dunno.

I also got Things We Know by Heart. I mean, JESSI KIRBY! She’s already on my auto read list even though I’ve only read one book by her.

Have a lovely week, Christy <33

Woo hoo! Congrats to your son! That’s huge and awesome. You must be really proud! I’ve never watched The 100, but I’ve seen a lot of bloggers talking about it on Twitter. One of these days I’ll binge-watch it myself. πŸ™‚ Nocte was great. I loved the book, but that might have been the hardest review I wrote in 2014. Of course I didn’t want to give anything away, but it was difficult to tell people WHY they should read the book… when I couldn’t tell them anything about it, really. πŸ™‚ It was a glorious mindfuck. I loved Maybe Not and I have my eye on The Law of Moses. I look forward to your review for that one.

    Have a great week!

  5. Congratulations to your son! That must have been quite a moment for you. It’s so fun to watch them accomplish their goals. I haven’t watched The 100 but I can relate to binge watching. It probably isn’t healthy but it’s definitely totally normal. Fantastic haul this week and have a great week!

I can’t believe how soon Christmas is coming, it’s too fast. Eeep.

The Law of Moses looks interesting, I’m curious to see what you think of it.

    Have a great week!

Ha – He and I could’ve been binging buddies. I watched the 1st season on Netflix, and then caught up with this season so I’m current now.

  7. I got Golden Son this week too. Funny enough, I read Heat of the Moment this past week. I know it doesn’t release until May but I wanted to read it before the reviews started rolling in. I have Things We Know by Heart, and I hope to get Maybe Not soon too. Congrats to your son! Have a great week!

  8. Yes, I saw your FB post. Big congrats to you and your son. I know the reason he is so wonderful is because of his mom….. See I can say something nice every once in awhile….I enjoyed Under Different Stars as well. Surprising. I am not going to meet my 200 goal for the year I will be about 8-10 short the first time I haven’t met my goal but that’s okay. I am so anxious to get to Kate Daniels. Those are my audibooks for new year.

I can’t believe Christmas is only months away D:
And congrats to your son! That’s awesome (:

Great haul! I like the looks of Things We Know By Heart. Oh and I’m so tempted to check the Duff because of the movie trailer, haha. Have an awesome week!
