With a seven-year age difference, Ryke & Daisy have faced an uphill battle in the eyes of the world and their families. Known as the most adventurous, fast-paced couple — their next step has always been elusive to the rabid media.
Behind the scenes, heartbreaking troubles continue to test Ryke & Daisy’s resilience and shape their future together.
To never slow down.
To never compromise who they are.
To never abandon their love for each other.
But preserving their happiness also means adding more risks. Ones that Connor Cobalt wouldn’t even take. As a professional free-solo climber, Ryke is no stranger to risk, but his next step with Daisy wagers more than just his health.
With their lives on the line, Ryke & Daisy head towards the vast, wild unknown in this epic final conclusion to the Addicted series.
I just … I can’t.
I’m an emotional mess.
I love this series so much, and it saddens me deeply that it’s over. At the same time, it was the right time, and it was the best, most satisfying ending! Long Way Down was everything I could’ve hoped for and more, from beginning to end.
It’s making me weepy all over again just thinking about it. Hell, thinking about the whole series, starting with Addicted to You. Looking at where it all started, where the whole group was in the beginning compared to where they are now … talk about character growth! All of the characters have tremendous depth, and truly come to life. I love each and every one to pieces.
It was fitting for the series to go out with Daisy and Ryke, especially when it came to that epilogue. It’s kind of pathetic how much I cried throughout the book, and it’s a freaking long one! Not all from sadness, though. I cried because I was elated, proud, and just extremely sentimental. I’m just so damn happy for them! Ryke is such a genuinely great guy, and is so beautifully good to Daisy. The way they always flirt with each other has always been a major aspect of their dynamic, and I love that that hasn’t diminished as times has passed.
A major reason this is one of my top favorite series, is because it’s just as much about family and friendships as it is about the romantic relationships. You can’t think of it as strictly three individual couples, but instead as a group with many vital dynamics. The relationships between brothers, sisters, parents, and friends are just as important and unique. Part of what makes the group so lovable and awesome is the fact that they are so close. And oh man, the banter is a freaking riot sometimes.
This is a series that should definitely be read in order. I technically read Kiss the Sky first because at the time I didn’t know any better, but it was fine. However, I strongly demand suggest going back to or starting with Addicted to You before continuing the series. This isn’t the type of series where just because certain books are told from different POVs, mean you should jump in anywhere. Each book is important and builds off the previous.
Anyway, I went through a box of tissues while reading Long Way Down, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Oh, and Ryke … fuck off. ♥
