Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Our morning starts off with the annual Turkey Trot 5k, with the money going to a local emergency aid council. This year we’re looking to have at least 5,000 participants in the run/walk. There is also a 2 mile kid run and family walk, so it’s really a fun event that brings everyone downtown for a great cause. Then everyone goes home and pigs out. 😀
This year it will be a very small gathering for us, with only 7 people. We’re sticking with the traditional oven cooked turkey, instead of deep pit or frying. I was able to find an 11 pound turkey, but it was difficult. I saw a bunch of little ones last year, but they were scarce this time around. All I kept finding were Godzilla size turkeys, and I don’t want a bunch of leftovers. Anyway, that’s my turkey tale.
I’m mostly looking forward to going into a carbs coma, though!
Mmmm … carbs.
Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
