Well, another year down. There were definitely some highs and lows, but I’m ready for a new year. I know I’ve talked about how my blogging has dwindled in these posts for the past few years, but 2018 was the worst. I only posted 20 times. I have several review posts prepped, but just can’t seem to push myself to finish them. I still update with Goodreads, though. I honestly doubt I’ll ever post frequently as I did the first years I blogged, but I don’t want to give it up completely.
Even though blogging is low, my reading has been pretty solid. I set my goal to 60, skeptical I’d even reach that, but I exceeded it and read 78 books. Wish I could’ve rounded it up to 80. Overall, the year was filled with good books & only a couple of disappointments.
2018 was all about the series for me. Several beloved series came to an end, but I also made it a goal to catch up on or finish any that I had neglected. Also, since so many came to a close, I decided to start in on those that I’ve accumulated over the years but never got around to, like the Arcadia Bell series by Jenn Bennett. I loved it and am so glad I was able read them all without waiting in between books!
Now, for my top reads. I read a lot of good books, but these are the ones that had that extra something. They’re in no particular order and they link to my review if there is one.

There it is! I recommend them all!
Have you read any of them?
I love your list. I’ve read most and have the others in my tbr or audio pile. Happy New Year’s my friend.
Glad you were reading and loving most of your books even if you felt bad about not posting as often. You read some wonderful gems. I love quite a few of those. I think it is neat that you are getting back and finishing older series and able to start other series you want to try.
Have a great 2019, Christy!
Yay many great books there! I agree with you!
Starry Eyes made so many of my Top 10 end of the year lists. I love Jenn Bennett. TKQ showed up multiple times too. Hoang really brought something special to the contemporary romance table with that book. CLo could do no wrong by me in 2018. I adored every one they put out.
Josh and Hazel made my list. So loved it. I enjoyed Starry Eyes, TKQ and Kindling the Moon this year too. Happy New Year!
I am glad to see so many great books on your list and that you had such a solid year of reading!!!!Hope 2019 brings forth great things for you.
I have a lot of those books in my lists too. I’ve struggled with blogging this year too. I hope that I can figure things out in 2019. I also didn’t read as much, but I enjoyed the books I read. I hope you have a great year and find several great books next year. Happy New Years
I feel the same way about blogging but, we are still here right? I need to read some of these! That will be my goal for 2019 I think. Play catch up on some of these.
You read some good books this year. I read a Ilona Andrews novella in the Hexed anthology and it was great. A series to look for. It is fine to blog less often. I hope you find some good reads in 2019 and I wish you a safe and healthy New Year.
I have read many of your top picks and loved them. I miss you on the blogosphere, but I get it. I have struggled with blogging myself and I keep thinking I should cut back, but then it keeps me going some days, especially in the winter. I am glad you are still around though. Hugs to you, hope that 2019 treats you better.
Blogging less is better than blogging none 🙂 Glad to hear your reading has been good at least! I’ve seen The Kiss Quotient on so many best-of lists! And I’m glad to see Elizabeth Frankenstein there since I have that book, I just have to get around to reading it lol. Happy New Year!
I plan to read NOS4A2 soon so I’m ready for the show coming out, and I also want to read Josh and Hazel, Starry Eyes, and The Rise and Fall of the D.O.D.O. Glad you enjoyed them all!

It sounds like you had a great reading year in 2018. So many of your favorites are on my TBR pile or wish list. I am especially excited about getting to The Kiss Quotient and catching up with the Ilona Andrews series. I hope you have a wonderful New Year, Christy! Happy Reading!
Happy New Year!! Starry Eyes is on my list, I’ve heard all the things and it sounds fun. and Kindling the Moon does too, and look at that! Same author haha. Maybe the universe is telling me to read her books. 🙂
I love your best of list. Lots of my favorites are on there, and the ones I haven’t read are on my TBR so I’m glad to hear they’re so good. Happy reading in 2019!
Oooh, so many gems on your list! Here’s to a year of happy reading in 2019!
I also liked Starry Eyes a lot. I also was WAY down on my reading and I am fine with that. It was a crazy time a few years back when, like a lot of bloggers, I was getting tons of books from publishers and reading 200+ books a year. It was crazy and I don’t miss it at all. It was too much!!!
I’m working my way through the Kate Daniels series! I just finished Magic Slays, and I’m on hold at my library for the next book. Starry Eyes was is a favorite of mine (Jenn Bennett is my jam!), and The Kiss Quotient was amazing! I hope you find many new favorites this year. 🙂
There are a lot of series I need to finish, so maybe I should follow your lead! <3
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? ?
I’m behind in my Ilona Andrews and Sarah J Maas reads! I’m glad they were all top pics for you!
Love the list. I think I am doing what you did THIS year. I hope you are well!
