Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them...right?
Oh. My. Gosh. This was so stinking good! I absolutely loved it. I was adamant that it would be a top read for 2018 at 8% in, and it only continued to get better.
I immediately fell for Hazel. She easily latched on to my heart with her love tentacles (haha – read the book), and her exuberance was infectious. She’s fantastic on her own, but paired with Josh, these two made me laugh out loud and completely fall in love with them. My heart soared, and how much I smiled was just ridiculous!
Loath-to-love is my favorite, but I’m always down for some good friends-to-lovers, especially when they’re as delightful as this one.
Entertaining doesn’t even begin to describe these book. I think fans of The Hating Game would enjoy it. I’m not comparing the content, but the feels are on the same level.
Dang it. I have this..but won’t even be able to look at it until mid-December when I go on break..lol I too love haters to lovers..the banter and snark sound wonderful!
Yes!! LOVED this one. I ADORED Hazel.
Ah yes, this one is hitting everyone with good vibes. I really must at some point.
Oh yes I loved this one sooooo much!
Yes, I loved this book so damn much!!!
P.S Did you love Hazel??
This one was by far my favorite by them yet, it was just so good and Hazel really made it so fabulous. I loved the epilogue too! I mean how cute was it? Especially seeing both their personalities in different ways, so fun!
From your review and the comments, this sounds like one for the reading list.
My favourite trope! Adding this to the list. 🙂
I agree, this was light and funny and it made me happy. I needed that at the time when I read it. Glad you loved it too.
I loved this one too. I loved both Josh and Hazel! Great review, Christy!
It’s such a great feeling when you’re barely into a book but you already know it’s going to be amazing! (Although, occasionally that happens and then the book goes downhill, so I try to keep my expectations tempered lol.) These sound like such fun characters to read about!
I’ve heard a lot of people really love this book. I keep wanting to try this author pair. I met them at RT17 in Atlanta and they were a hoot. Great review.
Your reviews always make me want to drop everything and read the book, particularly when you love a book. This sounds like a lot of fun.
Nice. I love it when you know early on a book is gonna be great, and then it delivers.
I’m glad you really loved this one. I bought it for my friend for her birthday, but I still need to read it myself! haha

I really need to try some of Christina Lauren’s writing. I have been great things about this book and am thrilled to hear that you love it as well. I have it on my wishlist and hope to get a chance to read it someday!
Great review. I can’t wait to read this one, I just hear such great things. I can see how much you really enjoyed this one though.
This author is so hit or miss for me, but the love for this book is off the charts. I am going to have to check it out. Glad you found a new favorite!
I really enjoyed this one! They were always looking out for each other on dates, and I loved the time they spent living together! I thought there feelings grew over time, and it was so fun to watch their journey. I wish Hazel had liked herself more, but she’s always saying that no one will ever appreciate her and her personality. I wanted her to feel more confident! I’m really glad you loved this one, too! Winnie the Poodle — hilarious.

I’ve yet to see a reviewer who hasn’t fallen in love with this one, it’s been such a raging success! Only a few chapters in and if you can tell it’ll be one of your favourite reads, it’s about time I see what all the fuss is about. Brilliant review Christy and so glad you enjoyed it darling ♡♡♡
I had the same reaction as you. I adored this book. I loved Hazel and all her zaniness, and the ending was too wonderful!
LOL, I can just feel you smiling as you wrote this review!
