Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red.
Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year.
The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting...but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red...
Yowza! Is this book ever smokin’! I’ve read two other books by Reisz, but they were more on the contemporary side. I love them both, so I didn’t hesitate to grab The Red, which definitely falls in the erotica realm and pushes boundaries. It’s so well written and has a dreamy, magical feel that I got completely lost in it. It really is an intriguing story that involves making a deal with a mysterious stranger. What a delicious stranger he is!
Mona is a great character. I love how she is unapologetic and owns what she agrees to. No only that, but truly enjoys it. It’s cool the way the story unfolds and how art in incorporated, and I was absolutely thrilled with the ultimate outcome.
I definitely need more Reisz in my life!
I have this on audio..eep!! Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Great review! I still need to read a book by Reisz. I think I might own one actually . . .
Honestly, and this is perfect timing as you just mentioned Lexi Blake on my blog, all I think when I see this book cover is one of her books in the Thieves series because it has the same picture lol. This wouldn’t be my kinda book, but I’m glad you liked it! That’s cool that the art was incorporated since you don’t see much in books about art.
Woah, NICE! A new author to explore! Hehheh!
I passed on this one because of the erotica side to it but now you have me wishing that I didn’t. Go to NG and grabbed her new mystery The Lucky Ones, it looks so good!
Yeah, this is a lot more sexually explicit than her other books. I grabbed The Lucky Ones last night! π
This book is her most erotic yet (at least from what I’ve read). I loved The Original Sinners and The Bourbon Thief (I have The Night Mark, but haven’t listened yet). My review for this one will be posting soon.
Oh really? Yeah, this was definitely different than The Bourbon Thief and The Night Mark.
My friend Lisa really liked this one too. I haven’t read anything from her, but they sound good!
I have read the author’s work before. I heard wonderful things about this book. I have a copy courtesy of the publisher, I just need to get to it/
Thanks for introducing a new to me author.
I have to read this one, I love Tiffany Reisz’s work. Glad you enjoyed this one.
I still need to read something by this author. I’m glad you enjoyed it, since it’s different from her other novels!

I recently read her Night Mark book and it was good. I will have to try this. I want to meet this delicious stranger.
Just a warning, this is very sexually explicit and pushes a lot of boundaries.
I’ve been hearing good things about this book. I need to get my hands on it myself. It sounds so good. Thanks for the review, Christy!
I haven’t read this one but I’ve heard great things about this book.
Oh I’ve been wanting to read this author for a long time. Looks like I am missing out!
A delicious stranger you say? I must meet him and soon!
Interesting, I thought erotica was all she wrote so I guess I was surprised for a second that you were surprised XD
The Red definitely pushed a lot of boundaries, but the flow of the story and magical feel of it was so captivating.
Oh, hello. Just my kind of kink right now. Lol. I need this book in my life.
Hi, by the way! How was your summer?
There is definitely plenty of kink here. π
Eh. It was summer.
I really need to try this author one day
Yowza indeed! Haven’t heard of this, but I’ll have to check it out π
I have been wanting to read this one and to try this author out!! What is your favorite book of hers?
This is only the 3rd book of hers that I’ve read, but both The Night Mark and The Bourbon Thief are great. Can’t go wrong with either one, but I did like TBT a little more.
Funny we both had Reisz reviews on the same day! π I actually have this in audio and now I’m even more eager to give it a listen. I’ve only read 2 from Reisz and they’ve both been from her Original Sinners series. *sigh* So very well written. I’m glad you enjoyed The Red!
Oh I like the cover, wouldn’t have ever thought that was more on the erotica side though (it seems so…arty?) I’m quite intrigued by the premise, so might just have to add it to my list. Thank you for sharing π
I swear I replied to this post but maybe I was just exceptionally tired and got lost somewhere along the way. ‘Tis the life of a coffee addict who can’t seem to get a full nights rest. Tiffany Reisz is one of my favourites–there’s something so intense and swoon worthy and explicit and full of escape in her writing. I loved The Red! It was so brilliant. Great review.

Gotta read it gotta read it gotta reeeeead it!!! NOOOOOW
YES! This was a steamy read. I enjoyed it, too, and I love love loved the end!
Great review.
I have never read a book by this author, but several trusted bloggers have enjoyed it so I am curious! Being more on the erotica side used to scare me off, but not so much any more so bring it on!
