I decided to do the Summer Lovin’ Book Tag! I got it from Shari @ Delighted Reader who got it from Richard’s Book Nook on Youtube. I’m only including recent books from this year, with one exception.
Here we go …
Start of Summer:
Attention-grabbing first sentence
The Burning World by Issac Marion
“We wait in the rivers and the woods, in the sky and the cities and the sun, but we do not wait patiently.”
This is a case of the sequel outshining it’s predecessor. I really liked Warm Bodies, but this is a different beast.
Too Hot to Go Outside:
Perfect for a day in
Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
Escape the heat and transport yourselves to the beautiful California Central Coast with this fun and adorable book!
Summer Road Trip:
Pick a book you’d take with you
I suggest others take Infini by KB Ritchie.
And I’d take Atheist Who Kneel & Pray by Tarryn Fisher because I need to read it!

Iced Tea Goodness:
A Cold Setting
A Bad Boy for Christmas by Jessica Lemmon. Okay, this one is hard, because I don’t recall any recent books having a setting like that. I had to resort to a Christmas book from 2015. 😀
Nasty Sunburn:
A book you really disliked
The Beachhead by Christopher Mari. It was boring & went nowhere. Blah.
Sizzling Read:
Recommend a Favorite
The Garden of Small Beginnings by Abbi Waxman! It’s poignant, humorous and has wonderful characters.
I’m currently reading Atheists Who Kneel and Pray and LOVING it so far. Tarryn’s writing style is super awesome, You need to read it asap!!! ???❤️
Yay! Glad you could use our book tag, Christy. Fun to read your responses. That cold setting was a toughie for me, too.
Alex Approximately *nods* I wanna read it. And I just read a review earlier of Garden of small Beginnings- sounds nice.
Cool tag!
All I can think about now is Grease because my mind immediately went to, “Summer lovin’, had me a blast…” But gah, I just don’t know what to do about The Burning World because I feel, like, so meh about Warm Bodies. Like, I rated 4 stars and thought it was thought-provoking and all that, but I just don’t feel enough toward the characters to care about continuing, but then you keep telling me to read it???!?! I don’t know lol.
Ah yes, totally love Alex and Bad Boy! The Garden of Small Beginnings look and sound amazing (:
tee, hee… “Beach Head”, tee hee…. someone titled their book that and they’re just asking for laughs. I think that may have affected your “expectations” of the storyline for the book. 😛
*waves HI*
I know, right? 😀
Oh I loved The Garden of Small Beginnings!!!! Alex Approximately is on my need to get to list. Can’t wait to hear what you think on the new Tarryn Fisher!!!
Ok. I should definitely start reading The Garden of Small Beginnings. I’m so excited!!!
Loved Alex Approximately! More than I thought I would. I didn’t like Infini as much as I thought I would for some reason though, have no idea why. All good books though! Hope you are having nice summer Christy!
I haven’t read any of those but they all look good.
Ooh, this was fun to read through. I’m making a list of all your books. Woot!
I have almost all of this books on my wishlist. I can’t wait to get a chance to read them. Great list!
I confess that I haven’t read any there
Oh, hello mostly new books here for me! I am off to check them out — thank you for some new authors to check out¬!
A Bad Boy for Christmas is the best! I would totally recommend it for the Cold Setting. Infini & Burning World sounds good to me! I’ll add them to the TBR list. 🙂 This is such a fun tag–I’ll have to join!
I want to read Alex, Approximately. It sounds right up my alley. Most of the other books in your post are new to me. Happy reading!
[…] been on a book tag kick lately, so when I saw this one over at Christy’s Love of Books, I thought “Well, why not?” She saw it from a friend who saw it at Richard’s Book […]

We have The Burning World and The Garden of Small Beginnings on our to-read list! This was a fun book tag! Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
This was so fun to read! I’m going to stay away from Beach Head because I pick up too many boring books all on my own 🙂
Fun Tag! I REALLY need to read The Garden of Small Beginnings! I heard wonder about it! 🙂
Books are the real companion. And Kindle helps me more in keeping my companion with me.
Sadly, I’m not acquainted with most of the titles mentioned…but a few shall grace my wish list after your post. Thanks for the share!
I need to read Alex Approximately
