Sunday Post #193 (2/12/17) – Send Boats & Sunblock!

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

So how ’bout that game last week? Quite the Super Bowl, eh? Barf. It did have me all emotional within the first 15 minutes or so, though. The National Anthem always does that to me, but with the ‘Schuyler Sisters’ adding “sisterhood”, and the Bushes’ coin toss, it was really nice.

The weather has been all over the place. We’re drowning one day, then it’s record highs the next. I don’t think Mother Nature is happy.

Who’s happy about the new reread feature on Goodreads? *raises hand* I rarely reread books, but it annoyed me the two times I did & wasn’t able to properly add them towards my goals.

And thank you for all the positive sentiments about my grandpa last week. He has his good days and his not so good days, but mostly positive at the moment. Hopefully they can come back to CA in March if all goes well.

On the Blog

Books Read

I read four chapters from The Turn by Kim Harrison.

That’s it.

Books Acquired

For Review:

Excited for a new K.A. Tucker book!

Ali is to blame for the first book! The other two are books I’ve wanted to read, so snagged them up since they’re on sale.

What’s On

Omg, I’m so excited for this! What Ever Happened to Baby Jane is one of my top favorite movies since I was a wee one. Anyway, I love both these ladies’ movies and their real life feud! So, yeah, this should be fun.

And TWD is back! I just can’t quit this show, even when it annoys me.

Have a great week!

  1. That game sucked. Can’t believe the Falcons blew it like that.

I’m liking the look of Avenged.

I’m the same way with TWD. And I need Rick/ Carol/ Daryl to exact some serious retribution.

  2. I didn’t watch the Superbowl. Literally didn’t even flip to the channel to watch commercials or the show or anything. But yes, it does seem as though Mother Nature is unhappy, doesn’t it? Weather has been crazy everywhere! And me! I’m excited about the rereads! I already went and added mine! Glad your grandpa is doing alright.

  3. UGH to that superbowl. I did love the National anthem, Sisterhood and I was a fan of Gaga. Yeah the weather is nuts for sure. I am happy about the reread feature too I don’t often but glad they fixed it. I loved Making Faces and hope you do to. Have a great week!

  4. Hahaha! I love your comments about the Superbowl! I don’t watch it, but lots of emotions on Twitter during the game.
I’m excited about the new re-read feature too. It’s going to make life so much easier. I hated having to switch editions. I can’t wait to read Until It Fades. I hope it’s better than her last one. That one was a mess for me. And ooh I’m looking forward to your review of Making Faces!
Happy reading and have a good week ahead!

  5. I am loving the reread feature! I used different editions to mark rereads and that kind of made my OCD brain cry a bit. So I am glad they finally got on board with a system.
I, as a patriots fan, enjoyed only the 2nd half of that game. I’m not sure what the hell was up with them during the 1st half. But man, what a comeback!
    Enjoy your books!!

  6. UGGGH. As if I couldn’t hate Brady any more than I do before finding out he wears a MAGA hat. *vomits* I wish I have the time to re-read books. But I’m happy for this new feature because then y’all can verify when I claim that I’ve read *insert book title here* 485949047084738 times. πŸ˜€

  7. Glad your grandfather is having lots of positive days. Hopefully that’ll quickly be the normal and he’ll be back in California soon. And wait! There’s a reread feature on Goodreads?? How did I miss this? I need to check it out right now because I’ve been dying for one! Have a great week!

I am glad your grandpa is getting better. Until It Fades could be good, though I have not read Tuckers romances yet. I read He Will be My Ruin and it is the only contemporary mystery I have read in a very long time. The weather here goes warmer, then it cools down again and it snows. It has been that kind of winter.

  9. I’m glad your grandfather is doing okay and I guess he’ll continue to have his ups and downs (guess that happens as we age etc…)

I’ve not yet used the re-read feature on Goodreads but had a book a few weeks ago I could have used it on. I’m sure the desktop version used to allow you to say how many times you’d read a book.

  10. It’s been that kind of season for most sports. First the Golden State Warriors in basketball then the Indians in baseball and now the Falcons in football. Gah.

I’m loving the the re-read feature since I hated not being able to count re-reads toward my reading challenge. I’m so excited to use this feature from here on out.

The weather has been pretty crazy here in So Cal. I wish Mother Nature will get her crap together already. Ha!

Happy reading, Christy! I hope you have a fabulous week!

  11. The Walking Dead! I can’t believe it’s back already, it didn’t seem all that long actually. I need to catch up with last mid season finale first before watching the latest episode. Our weather sounds pretty much the same at the moment, being summer it’ll be boiling hot one day and freezing the next. Makes it hard to plan anything. Being an Aussie, I have no interest in American footy but love seeing the half time shows. Lady Gaga absolutely killed it! Hope you have a wonderful week of reading Christy and that the weather gets its shit together <3

  12. That game was bull… I have a hard time believing that the Falcons just wittered like that… like who they pay off now? meh
Anywho.. glad to hear your grandpa is doing better
Mother nature isnt happy here either. It’s like warm, than it snows, than it rains than its 50…like what

  13. No Super Bowl for us here. I heard it was quite an upset. I am glad your grandfather is doing better. Hopefully his good days are more often than his bad ones. I don’t reread often either, but I’m pleased with GoodReads offering a re-read feature finally. I am really glad TWD is back too. πŸ™‚ I hope you have a good week, Christy!

  14. I am so glad that Goodreads finally put in a re read feature. I have been wanting that for years. Maybe now they will do half star ratings, I know other book library sites have them so I am crossing my fingers they will finally do it. πŸ™‚ Not a fan of the superbowl either, I am not a fan of either team so it didn’t matter to me but not what I was hoping for either.
