Sunday Post #181 (7/17/16) – Planetary Peeper

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

The temperature is rising to the 100s again. Luckily I’ll be at the cool coast this weekend, and hopefully it won’t be so hot by the time I get back.

I was starting to lag behind in my GR goal, so I slipped in some “quick” books I’ve been wanting to read. Now I’m one ahead. We’ll see how long that lasts, especially since I have so much on my plate right now.

Juno sent back its first in-orbit image! How exciting!

On the Blog

  • The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone (review) – Kinda boring, but was okay.

Books Read

  • Love Her Madly by M. Elizabeth Lee – Hmmm … :/
  • Magic Stars by Ilona Andrews – Julie & Derek … wheee!
  • Paper Princess by Erin Watt – Addicting, but nothing spectacular.
  • Undecided by Julianna Keyes – Loved the story & characters, but some technicalities bugged me.

Books Acquired

For Review:

Excited for the first two, and curious about the third.

  1. Yikes, 100’s. Hope the coast is cool! I was at the beach this week and it was mid 70’s when I left and only in the 60’s when I got there- dropped 10 degrees and the wind off the lake- cold! Love that Juno image- how cool is that?

The Operator looks good. Have a great week Christy.

  2. That sounds way too hot, Christy! I’m glad you’ll be off on the coast for the weekend where it’s a bit nicer πŸ™‚
YAY! You got The Operator! That’s one I’m really excited about as well.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading πŸ™‚

  3. Ooh! I’m glad you’re going to have some cooler weather. 100s weather doesn’t sound like for me at all. It would make me cranky!
I’m sad you didn’t love love Paper Princess & Undecided, but I’m looking forward to your thoughts!
    Have a wonderful week ahead!

  4. I’m not even caring about my GR goal this year since I upped it from last year. I’ll just rally my ass at the end πŸ˜€

No post for me this week – I’ve been arguing with Photoshop ALL weekend and with the drugs in my system, it’s best I stay off anything social. It would be baaaad!!! I’m hiding in my garbage can on the front stoop now…

Enjoy the beach!!! I hope the water is starting to warm up for ya!!!!!!! πŸ˜€

  5. That rap battle – I can’t even deal with it! Too funny! I want the Woman in Cabin 10! I loved her first book and I want more! Thanks for bumping I’m Thinking of Ending Things off my TBR. It’s definitely one I think I will be happier to avoid. Have a great week!

  6. Juno is probably the most exciting thing in space exploration for a while, can’t wait until they release more. That’s a great idea actually, I need a few quickies to bring my Goodreads challenge back up as well. been reading so many long, really heavy fantasy novels lately and they’re taking ages to get through. Have a fabulous week of reading Christy and hopefully the weather has cooled down a little by the time you get back <3

  7. It’s getting hot, here, too. A little miserable. I need an AC vent in the car at knee level, I keep sweating and sticking to my leather seats. I was lagging behind in review writing, so I had to force myself to dedicate the weekend to catching up. I hope you can make up to your GR goal soon.
