The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
June did not enter on a good note. It’s been a trying week, so I’ve been flaky when it comes to blogging. We’ve had an incident in the family, and things aren’t looking good. So I probably won’t be around much for awhile. Sitting around a hospital for long periods of time does provide the opportunity to read, though.
The 1st was my 5th blogoversary. Yay? As often as I’ve contemplated about quitting, I just can’t. Yet. Thank you to all of you who continue to visit and put up with my drivel.
On the Blog
- With Malice by Eileen Cook (review) – What a great mystery!
- The Last Star by Rick Yancey (review audio) – Worthy finale.
- Even If the Sky Falls by Mia Garcia (review) – Blah.
Books Read
- The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – Pretty good.
- Defending Taylor by Miranda Kenneally – ♥
- The Curse of Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones – Gotta love Charley time!

For Review:
Hello, my pretties …
Listening
The Monkees have a new album!! Yes, I’m a big ol freaking dork and love them – ever since I was a lil girl. This song makes me smile.
Watching
I watched the trailer as soon as I finished the book. I liked the book, but it looks like the movie will be … better. *gasp*
Gads, i will keep y’all in my prayers. Woot on 5 years and you cannot quit who will I bug. LOL. Mine is in August. I devoured The Curse of Tenth Grave and now we wait again!! So freakin good. Hmm, I am thinking about going to see The Girl on the Train. The audio was so good..the movie better? I don’t know.
At least Darynda doesn’t make us wait too long between books. She’s pretty good about pumping them out.
<3
OH gosh, I really hope everything works out Christy! I’m here if you need to talk, or rant, or whatever. 😉
And yay for 5 years, that is awesome! And as a FYI, I contemplate quitting all the time, I think it comes with the territory sometimes. 😉
Thanks, Ali. We know I can rant. lol
I’m sorry there’s been an incident that makes you sit for hours in the hospital, Christy! I’m sending strong and positive thoughts your way <3
5 years is good, and don't quit, please, please, pretty please with sugar and Swiss chocolate on top!!
I hope next week will be much better for you, and that June will turn around and be an amazing month. *hugs*
Thanks, Lexie!
Mmmm Swiss chocolate ….

I’m sorry to hear something occurred in your family. I hope everything works out okay! I’ll be thinking of you. And happy 5th blogoversary – I’m glad you are still blogging!! I do want to read The Girl on the Train; need to do that before the movie. 🙂
-Lauren
Thanks, hon! <3
Oh, Christy, I hope things turn out alright. Your family is in my prayers. Happy 5 years! I have thought of quitting so many times, but I just can’t either. It’s my happy place, even if it drives me crazy half the time. 🙂
Thanks, Charlie! <3
Happy 5 years! And whatever’s going on, best wishes and thoughts your way. Hang in there!
I’m kinda keen to see Girl on the Train too, love emily Blunt! I’ll be going to see that… 🙂
Thanks, Greg! 🙂
I’m so sorry to hear about the rough beginning into June, Christy. I hope things get better for you and whoever is in the hospital.
Congrats on 5 years! You’re one of my favorites so you can’t leave. EVER!
I hope you enjoy your books this week and take care of yourself. <3
Thanks, Nick! And I’ll try to stick around. 😀 <3
oh no!!! Hope the situation in the hospital improves!! And congrats on five years. That is just amazing. Hope you decide to keep blogging.
I really enjoyed the Darynda one! happy reading!
My thoughts are with you. It can be tough at times. We’ve all been there. You’re family is important. I hope things workout okay. {{hugs}}
You know I’m thinking about you. Btw, I meant to tell you: there’s “family” and there’s Family. 🙂 I can’t believe you read Charley already!!! Was it a quick read? I need to jam on her book next 😉
BTW – did you read “And I Darken” yet? I think you got that, right? I’m at 20% and it’s pretty good, imho.
hang in there… *hug*
Word. I feel ya about the family thing.
Yeah, Charley is always a quick read. Goes way too fast. 🙁
Dude, yes! I freaking love And I Darken. So good!
<3
So sorry it’s been rough and hope stuff gets better. Congrats on 5 years!! That is a long time but don’t quit – just take a break or two and come back 🙂 I am very excited for The Girl on the Train movie. I think it looks good.
Thanks, Grace! <3
I’m sorry you’re going through tough times. 🙁
But also…I didn’t even know the Monkees were still together and alive! You’re right, that song is a head-bopper. I’ll have to tell my mom. They were slightly after her time, but she loves dancing to The Monkees, Neil Diamond, and The Beatles. 🙂
Congrats on 5 years of drivel that we all clearly enjoy! 😛
And now I can’t wait to read Girl on a Train. AND watch it. Movie better than book is like the gold-pooping unicorn of pop culture, so if that happens I will be very thrilled.
I was born in ’79, so I watched re-runs of their show in the 80’s. I don’t know why I got such a kick out of them going down the street on a bed. lol.
Thanks, Beth!
I’ll be praying for you and your family Christy. I loved your review of the last book of thd 5th Wave series. As long as you keep blogging I’ll keep reading…happy 5th anniversary!!
Thanks, Leona! <3
Little Heaven looks creepy. I’ll be going to check it out ASAP. I hope things work out for you and your family. Sending up prayers.
I hope it’s creepy! And thanks, Laura. 🙂
Your family will be in my prayers. It’s great you have been blogging for five years! If you keep blogging, I will keep reading.
Thanks, Nathan! 🙂
Oof, I hope whoever is in the hospital recovers soon! My fifth blogiversary is coming up too, I think I’ll treat myself this time around and not do a virtual party. Lol
#werenotquitters
Thanks, Braine! Haha – yeah, I don’t usually ‘celebrate’ mine. 😀
Never ever leave us!!! I’m sorry you and your family is going through rough times. My thoughts are with you. Happy Blogoversary. 5 years, crazy!
Thanks, Jennifer! <3 Haha - I try to stick it out a couple more years.
Ah, family, they are the ones that really make us hurt sometimes even when it’s unintentional. Wishing you and your family situation well.
Wow! Congrats on five years. I’ve only visited off and on for a few months, but I love seeing your posts with all your personal style shining through them.
I got 10th Grave up for this weeks reading. Yes, to more Charley and the gang time.
Hope this week is better! 🙂
Ahh! I can’t believe I hadn’t checked your review for Even If the Sky Falls! I will do so in a sec. It was blah for me too unfortunately.
Once again, I hope your family member recovers. I’ll be praying for your family.
Hugs to you and your family

Also, don't you dare quit on me, woman! I'll hunt you down if you do.
I hope everything is ok Christy. I’m thinking of you.
Wow 5 years! That is awesome! And you can’t leave us, who else can I hassle that has my kind of sense of humour??
Happy belated blogoversary, Christy!! You keep going, don’t give blogging just yet 🙂 it’s too much part of your life! Hugs x
I think we all regularly think of quitting but something always reminds us of how much we also love blogging. Defending Taylor is on my TBR, I love MK’s books. And happy anniversary, old timer!
