What an uneventful week. Just how I like it. It was so nice this week with some days in the 90s, so I tried to be outside any chance I got.
I read two books for #CleanSweepARC Challenge – 7 total so far. I totally missed the twitter party! I was thinking it was this weekend. Lame, I am.
Anyone watch The Family? Dude, that was a good show. I’m so pissed it won’t be renewed for another season, because that finale … wow. Stupid ABC.
On the Blog
- The Fireman by Joe Hill (review) – Love this crazy book!
- Wanderlost by Jen Malone (review) – Wonderful!
Books Read
- I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid – Meh.
- And I Darken by Kiersten White – Oh man, this was good!
Books Acquired
I got one book this week, and it is all I need. Some Kind of Perfect is an epilogue book for one of my most favorite series, and this baby comes in at almost 700 pages. *happy dance*
Oh, an actual epilogue book that is like a bonus for a series you love? That sounds pretty amazing, Christy!
You had a good week, it seems, and I totally want to read both Wanderlost and The Fireman!
Enjoy your Sunday, have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
I hope you read both of them!
Wow 90’s. It’s been 70’s here last few days and pretty dang nice- I can stop bitching about the cold weather now lol. Enjoy Some Kind of Perfect- nice that it’s a chunkster. 🙂
Haha – glad you don’t have to bitch anymore. 😀
Happy Reading!
Thanks!
A quiet week for you too! happy reading!
Thanks, Melliane!
I loved The Family!!! I was super pissed when I heard it was cancelled. Then especially after that finale where there is so much open. I want more!!
Ugh, I know! They always cancel the good ones.
Sounds like you had a great week. I really want to listen to The Fireman. I hope you have another great week next week.
Thanks, Melanie! And I really hope you do listen to it.
I love uneventful weeks! I am ready for some warmer weather but I am hoping for some days in the 80s before moving into the 90s. I hate it when good shows that I am enjoying get cancelled. Bummer. Enjoy your new book!
I’ve been watching it but then I saw that it was cancelled and couldn’t decide if I should bother with the last two episodes I had saved. I hate it when they cancel them and I like them!
You should definitely still watch them!
I’m not ready for 90’s yet! Luckily, it’s been mild here and only int he high 70’s!
I haven’t watched The Family but that would make me mad too!
I can be #Lame with you because I totally missed the twitter chat as well!! I have never read a Becca and Krista Richie book but I know lots of people totally love them! Hope its great!
They ended the series on a cliffhanger – no renewal!?! What a buzzkill!! You can only hope Netflix or Amazon picks it up or something like that.
I think the Ritchies write exclusively for you 🙂 Wow!!
That would be awesome if they picked it up, it definitely deserves another season.
Everyone’s listening to or reading Fireman and I’m sitting over here waiting for this insurmountable list of books to go down so I can get to it. #bookbloggerproblems
Your really getting through your TBR list. It is 60-70’s here, but the weather is fine. I agree I hate it when a series I into is cancelled. But at least there is more time for books 🙂
True. But I need a good show to take a break from books sometimes.
True, if you can find something you want to watch. Most of the shows I want to watch seem to be over.
Uneventful is definitely better than a week of bad events lol. Sorry about that show though. In the past it seemed like every show I started watching and got into ended up getting canceled, so I never got to see any endings. So I feel your pain! Have a great week 🙂
ABC cancels a lot of good shows. I don’t know how they do ratings, maybe they should just stream some of their stuff like Netflix. Netflix series seems to be faring better
I so love when books are super long. Unless they end up sucking. lol
I had a quiet week recently and boy I wish I had more. LOL And I just finished a book that was over 700 pages and didn’t even notice. Could have read more too! I love long books.
I did a TON of reading this past week, which I’m excited about. Sorry you missed the Twitter party! Sometimes I just can’t remember when things fall either.

I just loved the twisty, turny FAMILY and as usual ABC cancels on us. It makes it very hard to invest any time on a new ABC series that’s for sure.
I know, right? It’s ridiculous.
I watched the first episode of The Family and was really pumped about it, but I wanted to wait until the whole season was out to binge-watch, so I’m super upset about the cancellation too. D:
I didn’t realize Some Kind of Perfect was 700 pages … Holy wow! I’ll never finish! Haha!
Have a great week, Christy!
I didn’t watch the family but heard great things. I do love a long book if it’s a good one.
Sometimes one book is all you need :0)
Hope you enjoy it!
Aww, hopefully next week is more eventful 🙂 And oooooh, glad you liked AND I DARKEN–I’m really looking forward to starting that one! Happy reading 😀
I like those uneventful weeks too. 🙂 That’s pretty much what ours was. I’m looking forward to reading The Fireman. I’m glad to read you liked it! That’s good news for me. Have a great week, Christy!
A nice uneventful week sounds nice! Sounds like you’re making some good progress for the challenge. I am sorry to hear that show won’t be renewed. I can imagine it’s sad when a show you enjoy doesn’t get another season. I hope you’ll enjoy your latest addition to your shelves and have a great week!
Ahhhh too hot! We’ve been in the 60-80s which is working for me. I so don’t want full out summer quite yet. Yay for getting a few more books read for your challenge 😀
Ooohh, I’m so behind on Becca and Ritchie’s series! I can’t even remember where I was at, but they’re fantastic feel good reads aren’t they? I hope you enjoy Some Kind of Perfect!
Got to love quiet weeks! I am so behind in Krista and Becca Ritchie’s books… I’m still back at Hothouse Flower!!
