He's a mess...
Asher Knight has three constants in his life: music, beautiful women, and a bottle of Jack. He lives for the next gig, the next city, and dreams only of a life spent in front of an arena full of screaming fans. But Asher's nomad ways come to a sudden stop when he learns he's the father of a three-year-old from a past relationship and suddenly this rock star bad boy is forced to put down roots.
Only she can clean up
Gloria Shields is no one's fool. Sure, the sexual chemistry between her and Asher has always been intense, but she'd never risk giving her heart to a man who has a perfect record for breaking them. Except the man desperate to make things right with his newfound son is nothing like the rock god she's guarded her heart against for years. And it isn't long before she starts to wonder if life with this bad boy might be the best thing that's ever happened to her.
Finally! I was hoping for Gloria and Asher’s story as soon as they appeared in the first Second Chance book, so I’m a happy girl! Return of the Bad Boy did not disappoint.
Oh boy, have these two gone round and round for a while now. Their story was perfect for the finale, because we got to witness what Gloria and Asher were already dealing with throughout the previous books and how it all led up to this. They’ve had a complicated, and often times antagonistic relationship. Ah, but do sparks ever fly between them! It was a lot of fun watching Gloria’s walls slowly crumble for Asher, but it was no easy feat.
The romance is obviously central, but I really enjoyed Gloria and Asher’s growth as individuals, as well. He’s a rock star that has led the stereotypical rock star life, but he is truly a good man and steps up when he learns he’s the father of a three-year-old. Dude knows his priorities. And it was touching seeing Gloria’s progression of growing closer to the girls, establishing friendships, and letting her guard down.
It was nice having the whole gang from previous books so involved. Whether it was being a confidant and voice of reason, or just hanging out on the lake, I loved it all. Especially when the Penis Bandits rides again! Haha!
I loved Return of the Bad Boy, but I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters. Hopefully we’ll somehow get to see more of them in the future.
Agreed it was the perfect ending to this series. I am anxious to see where she takes us next. Great review 🙂
It’s great that ti ontinues to be that good again!
I tried to get it from NG, but alas no
I love when you get a book about characters you loved in other books from the series. Sounds like this series ended on a high note! Great review!
Yet another series that you’ve recommended that I haven’t read. Sigh.
Now that this series has ended, I’ gonna try to acquire them all and binge read. I already know I’ll fall head over heels for this series. Great review!
You know how much I love a good antagonistic romance Christy, so I can’t pass this one up! I obviously need to start at the beginning though since they’re story plays out a bit in the other books. So looking forward to starting (and binge-reading) this series!
I so want to read this series! I’m happy your couple got their story told, Christy, and that it was a nice way to wrap up the series. 🙂
Kim just read this and loved it too. I so need to get caught up on this series.
You and Kim both liked this one, so I will have to add it to the list.
This book and this series have been tempting me and this one sounds good! I’m not a big fan of the surprise child but this one sounds like it makes sense and I want to know who these characters are! I love when a book about a character I’ve really been looking forward too doesn’t let me down and this one sounds like it was great!
oh I do want to read this one very badly. I love the mix of bad boys and small town setting!! So fantastic. Lemmon writes these so well. And isn’t it great to see some great character growth? Its one of my favorite things to see in a romance. Great review hun.
I always enjoy predicting who’s story is next in series like these and it;s fun when you finally get the couple you were looking forward to all the time. I like when you get a bit of backstory for the later couples and then in later books see the happy endings of the previous couples. I like that set-up for series. It’s like you already know the characters before it;s their book and even after that keep seeing how things go with them. The romance and character growht both sounds done well in this book! Great review!
Rockstars and second chance at love in one story, Christy? Oh yes! I think I’ll love this too… but I guess I should start with the first book? Your review made me salivate, and I want this. And I want it now!
I love it when an ending book is like this one. Ending books are usually not my fave but occasionally I’m totally satisfied. Btw, penis bandits? Totally curious now. LOL
Well, you know how I love a rock star read.
Just posted my review of this, haha. Glad to see you enjoyed this too! I like that both Ash and Glo grew as individual too. And yes, the sparks! I love that Ash just chipped away at Glo. Great review, Christy!
Sounds like the best ending to the series Christy. I love that both the characters grew individually.
LOVE this series. Totally cursing the fact that my review pile was too big to add this one. Yay for it being awesome 😀
