The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Ugh. That’s pretty much all I want to say about this week. At least the end of it anyway. Let’s just say that rain + my son driving = totaled vehicle. Not cool. He’s perfectly fine, though. Now it’s time to deal with lovely insurance and all that crap.
Anyway … I made a note on my calendar of something I wanted to mention in this post, but now I have no idea what my note even means. This happens more than I want to admit. -sigh-

For Review:
I have never been so excited for a book like I am for City of Mirrors. Yeaaahhh, buddy! I haven’t read anything by Erdrich in many, many years, so I’m looking forward to LaRose.
Purchased:
A few price drops to cheap or free, except Morning Star.
Watching
The 2nd season of Fear the Walking Dead starts tonight. Hopefully it’ll help with my bitterness from last weeks season finale of TWD. Eff you, Scott Gimple.
I have yet to watch the latest season of TWD, only because it isn’t on Netflix yet but I know a lot of people were upset over it so it makes me nervous!
Well, if you wait until it’s on Netflix, then it should end so badly for you if you can go right into the next season once it’s out.
Sorry your week was ugh,Christy! And I’m so happy your son is OK even if the car is not! What did you think of Morning Star? *jumps up and down*
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.
Thank, me too. Ohhh, I loved Morning Star! Can’t wait for what’s next.
Oh shit! Sorry to hear that- glad your son is okay. Yikes.
LOL yeah that finale sucked. I’m so over the people running that show. Is fear the walking Dead good? I’m going to watch the first season I guess… Owl and the City of Angels caught my eye since I just got Owl and the Japanese Circus. It looks fun…
Thanks, Greg.
Dude, that finale had such potential. When I saw him trying to justify it on The Talking Dead, it just pissed me off more.
Sorry about your car and so glad your son is okay. Hope the insurance does right by you. So with about writing something down and then not remembering what it means or why. Drives me nuts.
Oh no! 🙁 Sorry about the totaled car, but I’m glad your son is safe. Good luck with dealing with the insurance!
I need to read the Justin Cronin series. I love those covers!
Lots of angry fans over that TWD finale! I’m mad for all of your sake!
Have a good week, Christy!
Gads sorry about the car and all that entails, but so glad your son is ok. Yeah for Morning Star, City of Mirrors and Owl..woot! woot!!
Sorry to hear about your son’s car accident but what a relief he wasn’t hurt. It is a bugger to have to deal with the insurance stuff though!
Hope next week is a better one Christy! xx
I’m glad your son is okay! Accidents are the worst to have to deal with, so I hope it works out well.
I read Sleeping with Giants this past week as well. I’ll be interested to see what you think of it.
Have a great week.
Ohhh you got Owl!
Hold on a sec! Fear the Walking a dead is back!! How did I not know about this? Sucks that it comes around later in the UK! Ahhhhh! Still need to watch the finale of TWD! Have a great weekend!
Oh no! Sorry to hear about your car :-/ but at least your son is ok. I imagine that must’ve been scary.
I too downloaded When the Crows Fly Low because I saw it on Daniela’s blog, but I haven’t quite decided if I want to read it… I normally stick to SFF. But this way at least I have in case I decide I want to. And that line of reasoning is exactly why I have literally hundreds of books on my Kindle that I have not read lol.
Ugh. Glad your son was ok. Dealing with an accident is the worst though. Ha I have notes like that all the time and never have a clue what they mean so I get that!! Have a great week!
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear about your son and the car. But at least he wasn’t hurt. Dealing with insurance and all that is such a pain though. I’m sending you good vibes.
YAY! you got When the Crows Fly Low. I can’t wait to know what you think of it. Excellent writer! one of my few 5-star reviews in my Book Hall of Fame 🙂
Also looking forward to your reviews of Morning Star!!!
I CAN’T WAIT FOR FEAR THE WALKING DEAD EITHER!!!!!
wow Christy your post made me very impatient LOL
lol! I was happy to see When the Crows Fly Low was free after reading your review. I’m getting ready to watch FTWD in 10 minutes! Woohoo!
oh see, that’s the problem with me. I’m so visual (and ADD) that your awesome book covers dragged t my attention away from your update at the top. Sorry to hear about your car! 🙁
Sounds like a rough week. I hope this week will be better for you! 😉
‘When The Crows Fly Low’ is one of my favorite books. It’s really an incredible read!! Definitely a great purchase if you ask me!
Happy Reading!
What did the note say
It said “buy Liz new batteries”.
Oh man. That is full of suck! Glad the kidlet is okay at least 😀
Oh dear! Hope you get through all the unplesantlies really quickly, and next week isn’t too bad, Christy! Enjoy all your new reads!
So glad to hear that your son wasn’t hurt. Car accidents are scary, no matter how small. I’m pretty sick of this weather too. I like winter, but it is time for it to be over. I’m ready for spring. Hope you have a better week this week and you enjoy your book haul.
So sorry to hear of your son’s accident, though glad he came through unscathed. I hope all the resultant admin goes through as smoothly as is possible. I’m glad you enjoyed the Red Rising trilogy – I thought it an extraordinary read – such a roller-coaster… I’ve had The Passage on my TBR pile since forever, probably because it’s the size of a brieze block, but The City of Mirror looks very intriguing – I’ll be interested to hear what you make of it. In the meantime, I hope you have a better week!
I’m so glad your son is okay!!! I’ve totaled my share of vehicles so I’d say it’s a right of passage *pounds chest*. Makes you strong! Yeah, still a pain in the ass to deal with. I remember the life stopping every time it rained in So Cal, “Oil slick roads!!!”
It’s weird you picked up 7 years… I was just looking at reading that one. I’ve owned it since it came out 3 yrs ago. Weeeeirrrrd…
Glad your son is okay but I do not envy you the insurance mess. Aren’t older kids fun! I kind of thought when they got self sufficient they’d be way easier but instead I’m actually more stressed. Still glad he’s okay. I imagine that was not a fun phone call to get. Hope next week is great!
Sigh…trying again to comment! Your blog says I have too many URLs! LOL
Sorry about your son’s accident…but glad he is okay. Here’s to a better week ahead.
I am ogling LaRose…to find my weekly updates, go to my Curl up and Read blog…or find me at Kimberly’s blog.
Oh I enjoyed the Kristi book! Many books for you! happy reading!
Withering Hope seems like a great pick. Happy reading and have a good upcoming week.
Glad your son is okay, and good luck with the insurance
OMG!!!. Well, at least he is okay, but that sucks. Scary too. Insurance are crooks!!!
I’m super happy to see you picked up Withering Hope, Christy! And I’m relieved to see that you thought The Dirty Secret was just OK. That was a DNF for me. I HATED it. I was so bored with it. I didn’t care for the writing either. So sorry to hear about your totaled car as well. ;(
I’m sorry about the totaled car! That totally sucks! Glad your son is okay!
Great book haul! The Seven series by Dannika Dark is amazing! One of my favorites! Hope this week is better and good luck with the insurance company!
Glad your son is OK! I’m crossing my fingers that I get approved for City of Mirrors. It has been too long, and I may reread the other 2 books next week, if I have time. Starting Golden Son next week also, so that I can get Morning Star. Hope you have a better week! I’m gonna set my DVR for FTWD, because Game of Thrones comes back tonight and I’m super ready. Happy Sunday!
I’m glad your son is okay!!! That must have been terrifying for you :/
Why did you share those sales?! I’ll go broke!!
I’m so behind TWD, I need to binge watch it. I don’t follow Fear but I hope it’s a good season for y’all!
I am glad your son is OK, though the car isn’t. Hope the insurance works out for you as best as it can. I hope you have a better week this week.
Thanks, Nathan. We have good insurance, but still. Blah.
I am glad to hear you are getting the rain now. You guys need it way more than we do and we are oversaturated right now. Sucks about your car, My car is in the shop too since my husband backed into a tree branch on our beach vacation. I am planning on binge reading the whole Cronin series starting first of May.
Oh, Ms. Christy, I’m so sorry to hear about your son. I’m glad that he’s okay. Now, how old is this son again? Hehe 😉 Enjoy your pretty new books! But don’t even get us started on that Walking Dead cliffhanger — argh.
~Mckenzie
Oh. Nuh-uh. Don’t answer her. She does NOT need to know how old your son is! LOL
I’m glad he is okay!
I’m looking forward to starting the Passage series! Happy reading 🙂
~Michele
LOL! Don’t worry, he’s too old. Almost 19.
Thanks ladies, he was lucky.
I actually couldn’t get into Fear the Walking Dead because of my frustration over it’s characters. There were none of them that were likable, at least within the first 4 episodes anyway. Oh man, I’m sorry to hear about the vehicle but at least your son is okay! Hoping this week is better.
Can I tell you how much I laughed over you not understanding your note to yourself?!? Yeah, that *never* happens to me! LOL I’m sorry about your son having an accident but at least he’s fine. 😀 Great books you picked up! I’d like to have the Owl title. 🙂 I hope this week is treating you well, Christy!
Oh noes. I hope your son’s okay. :/ Anyway, I see City of Mirrors! Gah.
