The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Oh man, it has been one of those busy weeks that went by fast, yet felt so damn long. Makes sense, right? There was a lot of traveling involved. I don’t mind, though, especially since it gave me more time to read. Blogging … not so much. We also had some pretty good rain come in, which is welcome. Annnnd time changed! I’m glad the sun will start staying out longer.
St. Patrick’s Day is next week, but it’s been a day of bad luck for my family.Β I’m convinced an Irish ancestor of mine was cursed and that it has been passed down through the generations. So here’s to hoping I’ll be around for the next Sunday Post. lol
On the Blog
- Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop (review) – I love this series so much!
Books Read
- The Offer by Karina Halle -Ooooh yeah, love me a McGregor.
- Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras – It was good.
- The Twelve by Justin Cronin – I finished the last half and I’m extremely glad I reread both The Passage and The Twelve before reading City of Mirrors. OMG I need it now!
- The Visitor by Amanda Stevens – It was great to finally read a new book in the series.
Books Acquired
For Review:
Woohoo! Rachel Morgan, Jenks, and Peri Reed all in one story? Hell yes!
Purchased:
I absolutely loved the first Hollie Porter book, so snatched this one up while on sale. Jaspierre is a freebie and sounds like a effed up read.
Watching
I’m going to watch And Then There Were None based on Agatha Christie’s story that will air tonight (Sunday). It already aired on the BBC a couple months ago.
I watched the first episode of Underground and it was really good!
Listening
Have a great week!
I like the longer days but hate missing that hour of sleep LOL. The time change always screw me up for a few days seems like. π
I missed And Then There Were None tonight but it looks good, I’ll have to see if they’re replaying it. And Dorothy kicks ass- love that song.
I watched and Then There Were None over Christmas and really enjoyed it! And my husband who had never read the book loved it too. It’s a great adaptation.
Hope you survive the 17th! You could always try a counter curse with lots of Irish whiskey, it’s more powerful than any black magic!
I had no idea there would be a Hollows / Drafter mash-up, Christy. That’s so exciting, and I want to read that, too.
I hope you’ll survive St. Pat next week, and that maybe you’ll find someone to help you lift that curse π
Enjoy the coming week and happy reading.
Oy. I’ve been awake since the time change at 2 am. I can’t freaking sleep. Bah!
I think you should write a special St Patrick’s Day post Christy to shake off that history of bad luck!!!
Like the And Then There Were None clip!
ah yes I’m quite curious about the Harrison one! Happy reading!
I was just looking at a weather map near you on Friday that you were getting Thunderstorms!!! At least LA was! When has that happened last?? No, not stalking, I was watching tennis on TV and a storm was coming through Indian Wells. I get nostalgic for all trips to Palm Springs we took for the weekends (couple trips and girl weekends). Damn, babbling again…
I thought about Waylaid but I’m kind of mad at Kim Harrison so… yeah. I’m being unreasonable. But I will check in on your on Thursday. Just don’t leave the house, okay?
We’ve had a couple this season. One huge one was last weekend, which ruined my plans. I don’t go out that way often. When I do trips, I usually head for the coast or the mountains.
Hold on, why are you mad at her??? I’ll ask you on FB.
Waylaid sounds good, hope you enjoy and have a great week.
It always takes me so long to catch up on that lost hour the older I get, but I do like the lighter evenings. Even though I married into Irish we’ve never really done much for St. Patrick’s Day except decorate a bit. When the kids were little I did tell them a prankster leprechaun showed up in the middle of the night. I would would take all their green toys, books, and such and stack them in the living room, throw down green confetti, string green crepe paper throughout the house and put green food coloring in the milk and the toilet bowls. lol
I hope you have a wonderful week despite the day that won’t be named! π
I am glad to hear the traveling made for a lot of reading time. Our time won’t change for another week or two I think, I should have it noted in my calendar somewhere.
Oh that would make for a good story with the cursed thing, lol. I am sorry to hear your st Patrick’s day wasn’t a good one. Here st Patrick’s day isn’t really celebrated. I hope you’ll have a good week!
I picked up Kaleidoscope Hearts last week I think. I’m looking forward to reading it…someday.
Hope you make it through the week!
i liked and then there were none, really good
I know exactly what you mean by busy but long. I have one of those weeks coming up next week most likely. I really need to read The Twelve. It has been on my TBR forever. I am very tempted by the Kim Harrison book but I still need to finish The Hollows and read the new series. Have a great week!
Its always a pain to adjust to losing an hour but I do like having a longer day though. Hope you get some good luck this week.
I usually get a lot of reading in while traveling. As long as I’m not driving. LOL Nice haul of books this week. And, while I like the longer days, I wonder if we really need daylight savings time anymore.
I watched Underground also, and really liked it. It helps that I’m a fan of Jurnee though, because I will read historical fiction that involves that time period, but I don’t like to watch it for real. Enjoy your new books!
Oh I have The offer and Kaleidoscope hearts waiting fore me on my kindle but I have yet to read them!! I hope this St. Patricks day is lucky for you!!
Wayland looks fabulous! I still need to get that series finished, I’m so behind though but I do love it!
Here is to hoping the 17th is a good one. π
The Offer was good! The Play is still my favorite McGregor, though.:D
I missed And Then There Were None! sigh. I need to find a way to watch this.
Sorry you had a rough week- I do hope this one is better and nothing bad happens around St. Patty’s Day!

I loved the rain, except I had to walk in it because of work. I can’t wait until I can tell you all about my job. But I have to wait for something to happen. After that, oh the stories!!! So excited for the time change. I love when it’s lighter later at night.
Oh I think I would love Underground! I love stories about the Underground Railroad the abolition of slavery! thanks for sharing the trailer! I got Jaspierre. Can’t let a freebie go π Thanks!
Ahhh see I’m of the damn the clocks! damn the clocks! team. Can’t stand DST. *dies from exhaustion* lol
Ooo wonder what your ancestor did…
Grr… I hate the time change. I love though that it is lighter at night, but I didn’t sleep well last night, and now I am dragging today. I sure hope you are around next Sunday.
I like that the sun will be out longer too–mostly. It’ll make it harder to get my daughter ready for bed. She seems to gauge time by darkness and light. And I was not happy about having to drive to work in the dark this morning. I already wake up in the dark, but I was enjoying catching the sunrises on my way to work. I hope the 17th proves to be a good day for you, despite it generally being a bad day for your family. That’s kind of how I’ve come to think of my birthday–or rather the days around it.
Marked by Flesh!! I haven’t read your review yet because I hope to read that one soon. I’m soooo anxious to get to it.
I hope you have a great weekend!
Oooh, nice! I adored Hollie Porter Builds a Raft. Very good sequel. π
That St. Patrick’s Day curse sounds like a story to me!
Hopefully you will pick up on your blogging this week. Great to get a lot of reading done!
We’ll get our time change soon too…
