The Others freed the cassandra sangue to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before—both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…

“Hope or hatred? Which fire would light Thaisia?”

Here we go again …

More awesomeness!

I still can’t believe I was so reluctant to start this series. Idiot. It was great from the start, but each book gets even better. Vision in Silver is 400+ pages, but it’s the type of book that goes way too fast. It could be 1000 pages and it would leave me craving more.

I’m really glad we’re getting more insight to the original terra indigene. Some of my questions were answered in this book, and I’m looking forward to seeing them more in depth. I’m sure glad they’re fictional, because talk about scary. I mean, the ones we’ve seen now, like Simon, can be scary, but we love them. The elders are a whole other thing. I love that we’re seeing this evolution of the Others. It’s fascinating and exciting. I pity those who are crossing them, because they really have no idea what they’re up against. Ignorance and hatred can be deadly. I’m so eager to see how it all plays out!

At the center of it all is Meg and Simon. I can’t express enough how incredibly fantastic their relationship, the whole dynamic, is progressing. They’re naivety, and Simon’s frustration, is beyond entertaining at times. They’re both navigating these foreign waters than no one has before, and it makes me ecstatic! It truly is superbly done.

Of course, the plethora of outstanding characters is a big reason this series is so good. Everyone from the humans to Others, each one brings so much to the story. I’m still loving Tess and the Elementals the most, though. I just love powerful, deadly females, okay?

This series is without a doubt one of the best out there, and Vision in Silver only elevated it even more.

  1. I read this with Jenny last week and looooved it so much! I’m super excited to read book 4 already. I love The Others too and I’m with you with strong and dangerous females!
    Can’t wait for more!
    Great review!

  2. Between you and I think it might have been Joy, I’ve already bought the series but sadly haven’t found the time to crack it open yet so had to skim a little. But this would have to be one of the last awesome urban fantasy series out there wouldn’t it? They seem like such a dying breed these days. Thrilled how much you love the series Christy and fabulous review! <3

  3. I sometimes feel like I’m sitting on the side of the road and all these great books are flying right by me. Actually, I’m not sitting, I’m reading other stuff but there isn’t enough time to read everything I want to read. Jeez, I’m such a whiner… I freakin’ own all these, too. UGH!!!

Well, I loved your review! There IS that 🙂

  4. YES CHRISTY!!! I’m such an idiot too, though my idiocy worked to my benefit in this case because I got to binge read all 3 books with no wait. And we don’t have too much longer for book 4. I absolutely love everything about this world, but Meg and Simon most of all. MORE MEG AND SIMON!
