Marin Rush loves studying sex. Doing it? That’s another story. In the research lab, Marin’s lack of practical knowledge didn’t matter, but now that she’s landed a job at The Grove, a high-end, experimental sex therapy institute, she can’t ignore the fact that the person most in need of sexual healing may be her.
Dr. Donovan West, her new hotshot colleague, couldn’t agree more. Donovan knows that Marin’s clients are going to eat her alive unless she gets some hands-on experience. And if she fails at the job, he can say goodbye to a promotion, so he assigns her a list of R-rated tasks to prepare her for the wild clientele of The Grove’s X-wing.
But some of those tasks are built for two, and when he finds Marin searching for a candidate to help her check off her list, Donovan decides there’s only one man for the job—him. As long as they keep their erotic, off-the-clock activities strictly confidential and without strings, no one will get fired—or worse, get attached…
“I could make you shameless, Rush.”
Off the Clock made my nerdy little heart go pitter-patter!
I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Roni Loren. They’ve mostly been from her Loving on the Edge series, so I was excited this is the beginning of a new series. Then to learn it’s about sex therapist made me even happier. Honestly, there are a lot of things to love. A lot.
I adored Marin Rush and Donovan West! I definitely connected more with Donovan, though. They had major chemistry from their very first interaction, and it only grew throughout the book. I love the whole set up, making it a bit of a forbidden romance. What I love best about them is they would burn the pages up with how smokin’ hot they were together, but at the same time they had a playfulness about them that had me totally grinning. Oh, and the games … yeah, those were very nice indeed.
Like with other Loren books, this had a fantastic ensemble of secondary characters. I got a kick out of Nathan and the many awkward moments between him and his older sister – Mari. And I might be in the minority, but I love Elle and hope like hell she gets her own book. Also, there’s a tiny connection to her other series that made me super giddy.
I really love everything about Off the Clock and look forward to more from the Pleasure Principle series.
Never tried her
it’s grea to have an author like that and to see that once again you were taken by the story!
I love her stuff, too. I have one more book to finish in her Loving on the Edge series and I adored her other standalone. Looking forward to this one. That’s cool that she blends steam with playfulness.
I haven’t read any of her stuff before. The whole sex therapist angle sounds fun though. Great review!
I haven’t read anything by Roni Loren before but this book sound pretty good. I love it when a book has wonderful secondary characters. I think that can add a lot to the story. I will keep this book in mind. Great review!
Oh this sounds great, Christy! I love the nerdiness and the playfulness that the couple has. I haven’t read anything by this author, but I’m going to add this to my TBR! 😀 It sounds too fun to miss out on.
Great review, Christy! (Although, I’m not happy with you for making me spend more money and add more books to my TBR! 😉 )
I have this one waiting for me Christy and I can’t wait! I have you to thank (blame?) for my Roni Loren addiction, she just writes such fun characters:) So glad this was another winner for you overall!
I will gladly take the blame with no remorse. lol.
Can’t go wrong with sex therapy. Adding this to my TBR!
Gah another author to add to my must try list. You really should just make me a list to get through this year. 😛
I still haven’t read this author, yeah I know, come and beat me up. I like that one of the characters is a sex therapist, that intrigues me.
I have to try her one of these days… Pleasure Principle sounds good too *waggles eyebrows*
Oh yes. So dang good. I’m so excited for Lane’s book. That ones going to be…interesting.
Seriously? Sex therapist? She studies sex but she needs sex help? What??? I don’t believe it! Really?! My eyes are bugging out my head. Okay, wait… I can see a lack of a playmate being a problem. This Donovan sounds fabulous – “tasks”!!! tee, hee! He can give me “tasks”. I should read this ASAP, huh??
I can have conversations by myself all day….
lol – She’s only worked on the research aspect, like doing studies and in labs and stuff. And yes, you should read it when you’re finished talking to yourself.
I’ve been seeing this one a lot. Definitely want to give it a try. Great review! 🙂
I’ve been very curious about this author and I do need to try her one day. So glad that this series got off to a good start. You also have me curious about Donovan. I may have to try this one of hers to meet him. 😀
Books with sex therapists tend to be hit and miss, but it sounds like this one was pulled off really well with lots of chemistry! Lovely review Christy!
I’ve never read Loren, Christy, but you sure intrigued me with your review. It sounds like Donovan is an amazing scientist, and that there are a lot of things she can do when it comes to theory. I’m sure reading about her getting a grip on the more practical and hands-on parts of her theories was great 😉
I haven’t read this author yet, I probably will get around to it, you definitely have convince me I need to read her sooner rather than later.
This author is new to me but you have me quite curious, this couple sounds great!
A lovely review!
That book was gorgeous! and so hot! 🙂
Great setting and I love the sound of their playfulness. Sounds spicy!
I haven’t read any of this author her books, but this one sounds great. And that’s interesting she’s a sex therapist. I am glad you felt the connectioon and chemistry between these two and it only got better the further you got. Great review!
Well, the concept is definitely interesting. The playfulness is right up my alley.
I’ve heard great things about Loren and I own several of her books. I think it’s time I pull them off the shelves. I love the sound of Off the Clock, Christy. I’m looking forward to reading it myself. Great review!
