Stack of books with dry flowers on wooden background

It’s that time again, and holy smokes, you guys! It was extremely difficult to whittle down the pack because there were so many books I fell in love with in 2015. This is why I can’t do monogamy. Heh. Seriously, it took me way too long to trim this baby down. Last year I did my top reads without a number restriction, but had to put a couple restrictions this time just to help narrow it down. So here we go, these are the …

Top 10 Books Published in 2015

Golden Son by Pierce Brown – My immensely deep, borderline creepy infatuation of Pierce in no way influenced my decision. Ahem … next …

Black Iris by Leah Raeder – Okay, so I’m totally crushing on Leah too, but man, was this book amazing!

Misconduct by Penelope Douglas – P.Doug gets me, man. She just gets me! lol. Seriously, love these characters like you wouldn’t believe.

When a Scott Tie the Knot by Tessa Dare – Hilarious. This book makes me smile just at the mere mention of it.

When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill – I like the friends-to-lovers trope, but I love when they’re longtime friends who experience life and other relationships before coming together as more.

Brother by Ania Ahlborn – Creepy and deeply disturbing. Yup, loved it!

The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett – Ahh this was so good and the only YA contemporary to make my list.

November 9 by Colleen Hoover – I’m sure she’ll continue to appear on my ‘top reads’ lists as long as she continues to write books.

Long Way Down by KBRitchie – The end of the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series and it was perfection.

Call on Me by Roni Loren – Yowza! I’d love a piece of Pike.

The Rest

I was going to do a little cheating and list some notable mentions, but that started a whole new round as before. So I’m just linking to my Favorite of 2015 self on Goodreads. Is that cheating? *shrugs*

This was stressful.

  1. “This was stressful” Hahahahaha! So true, so true!! I have GOT to buy P. Doug’s book and Anatomical Shape b/c those two are showing up everywhere these last few weeks!! Now that YOU approve… well…

I do love all the books on your list but you know me and horror.. uh uh *shakes head* no way! I’ll leave those to you.

You definitely need to read those books. I think you should give Brother a go, too. Don’t be skeerd. lol.

I installed the TM v2 and played around on it. I’m tired of messing with it so it’ll just stay as is for now. I just can’t get the collapsible archive to work. It stopped after I switched themes. Annoying.

  2. It’s very stressful when narrowing down your favorites list because you want to spotlight them all. I had too many, but I only listed 25 of them. I really need to read a few of these! Happy New Year!

  3. Night Owls/The Anatomical Shape of a Heart made my list as well! Aside from Golden Son and the Night Owls, I’ve not read the books on your list. Definitely worth checking them out.

Happy New Year to you and your family, Christy! <3

  4. It is so hard to come up with a list of favorites. You did come up with a great list. I loved Golden Son and Brother. I thought When Joss Met Matt was a sweet story but I do have to say that I HATED Black Iris. I love how differently we can all look at the same book. I think I need to check out some of the other books that made your list.

  5. It can be extremely difficult to narrow down the best books especially if you have read so many great ones!! 🙂 I enjoyed Misconduct too and I think I read it due to your recommendation!!! I liked Tessa Dare’s book but didn’t love it probably because it had a contemporary feel to it rather than an historical one. But it was still fun to read. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Years. Bring it on 2016!!!

Glad you enjoyed Misconduct. I don’t read a lot of historical romance, so I think books like Dare’s are … hmmm .. I guess easier to get into. Probably because of the more contemp feel. I’ll have to try more HR this year.

  6. Only one young adult to make the list? Christy, you need to read more YA in 2016, there’s so many incredible reads out there. I’ll start throwing them at you on a regular basis 😀 You’ve convinced me to hop back on the Colleen Hoover train again now, I wet off her for a while after her first two NA titles and they felt so pedestrian sadly. I’m taking the chance again and already bought a copy. Fingers crossed. Here’s to a wonderful 2016 of reading and blogging Christy <3 happy new year!
