Sunday Post #156 (12/20/15) – It’s Almost Over!

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

December can kiss my ass. The past couple weeks have been awful, anyway. I don’t want to get into it all, but a trip to the ER was called for. I’m starting to feel better, but blah, we’ll see how it goes. Christmas is just days away, so I hope you’re ready! I guess I am. My Honey Baked ham and turkey arrived, so that made me very happy.

On the Blog

  • Ashley Bell by Dean Koontz (review) – Not my favorite Koontz book, but still really enjoyed it.

Books Read

Nuts by Alice Clayton

Books Acquired

For Review:

Listen, don’t look at me like that. I was actually being super selective, so I was a lot better than I could’ve been. There were just so many good looking books pop up on Edelweiss. Hey, I didn’t buy anything this week, so that has to count for something.

What I’m Listening To

It isn’t Christmastime without Elvis! His Christmas album played every year in my home growing up, so it’s not right without it.

Have a great week!

  1. I hope you’re feeling better, Christy! No fun being sick enough for a trip to the ER. December has kicked my butt, too, and I’m happy to have some time off now. On top of that, I won’t have to cook for Christmas, as I’m going to my mom’s house – that’s going to be awesome.
Your new books look great! I recognize some of them from Edelweiss… still waiting to hear back myself.
Have a Merry Christmas, and take good care of yourself.

  2. LOL I know- December has gone by ridiculously fast. I mean Christmas this week? I don’t get it. 🙂 Elvis at Christmas is great, I’m the same way about Andy Williams- it was always playing at our house and now it doesn’t feel like christmas if I don’t hear it. 🙂

Sorry to hear about the ER, hope all is well. I like your haul, The Marked Girl looks interesting I may have to swing over to EW at some point.

    Have a great Christmas!

  3. I’m sorry to hear about your healthy, Christy. Sending positive thoughts your way!
Bad Christy for getting all those books! Haha! I understand though. I went a little crazy too. It was so hard to resist.
    Enjoy your lovely books, Christy!

  4. Oh no! I hope you’re on the mend. I thought we’d have to make a trip to the ER when my son jammed his finger playing football in PE. But I decided to see if I could get the swelling down for a better determination and I’m glad I waited. It appears to be just sprained, strained or whatever. Not broken, but a lovely purplish hue now.

Freebies are always acceptable! lol And omg, Honey Baked is sooooo good! I want to try their turkey so you’ll have to tell us if it’s as yummy as it sounds. *drools*

    Merry Christmas!

  5. Ya know, I went to grab My Lady Jane b/c I REALLY wanted it, but I didn’t get it the first day I saw it (no clue why, laziness I guess) and it’s gone!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t find it on Edelweiss anywhere!! I’m going to have to email them and ask about it or hope it shows up again. I’ve been freakin’ waiting forever for it!!!!! grumble, grumble…

I’m so sorry December is sucking chocolate salty balls right now. You get off for the holiday, right??? Well, I wish I could give you a hug right now. Or at least a shot of prozac or something… xoxoxoxoxo

  6. I hope you are feeling better, Christy! Nov/Dec kicked me square in the teeth, too. I was told I needed a CAT scan and did not buy that for one hot minute. Rest up, relax and have a wonderful holiday!

  7. I survived the EW and NG takeover. I’ve been doing good these last few months, and when I saw Harper Collins drop all those titles I was so tempted. I just can’t read more review books than my own next year. I went way over this year, and I’m not happy about that. Still, I can’t wait to read most of them so I’m looking forward to the reviews. Have a great week!

  8. Did you have to go get your head examined? No seriously, I hope that all is okay and that you are back on your ornery old self soon. I would miss you. I agree, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without Elvis. He was hot.

  9. Indeed, no “Blue Christmas” without Elvis is criminal!! I work in deli and our manager is a major Elvis fan!! We get to listen to Christmas music while working which I think is nice, and I certainly hope you feel much better! Congrats on not buying anything, that is sometimes hard to do!!
