These are just a couple of quickies for the Georgina Kincaid series.
I didn’t read any of the blurbs until now and just realized how spoilery they might be if you haven’t read the previous books. So you probably want to skip over them.

Georgina Kincaid has been a bad, bad succubus...
…which should be a good thing. But lately, thanks to her foul mood over breaking up with bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, she’s been so wicked that Seattle’s über-demon Jerome, decides to “outsource” Georgina to a rival—and have her spy for him in the process.
Being exiled to the frozen north—okay, Vancouver—and leaving Seth in the cozy clutches of his new girlfriend is unpleasant enough. Then Jerome is kidnapped, and all immortals under his control mysteriously lose their powers. One bright spot: with her life-sucking ability gone, there’s nothing to keep Georgina from getting down and dirty with Seth—nothing apart from his girlfriend that is. Now, as the supernatural population starts turning on itself, a newly mortal Georgina must rescue her boss and figure out who’s been playing them—or all hell will break loose…
Ugh. Yup, Richelle Mead is trying to kill me with what she puts Georgina through. Even though my logical self says to calm the hell down, that Georgina will get her HEA, my freaked out emotional self wants to burn shit down. But I swear, I’m loving every minute of it!
I adore Georgina so much. She not only continues to be a great heroine, she keeps getting better and better. Even when she gets in her bitchy funks, she stays true with the wit and sarcasm she does so well.
The mystery is fantastic. I love figuring out what’s going on and who the culprits are. Even though I would feel I knew who did what, I’d stay open to other possibilities because Mead is really good at casting doubt and making me second guess myself. She really knows how to pull a story together, while throwing in advances for the overall arc.
Speaking of the overall series arc, it’s driving me crazy. I could tell what was going on since the end of the first book, so experiencing everything Georgina goes through gets extra frustrating. In the best way, though. The author is really setting everything up wonderfully, and I can’t wait to see how it will eventually plays out.

Georgina Kincaid has formidable powers. Immortality, seduction, shape-shifting into any human form she desires, walking in heels that would cripple mere mortals—all child’s play to a succubus like her.
Helping to plan her ex-boyfriend’s wedding is a different story. Georgina isn’t sure which is worse—that Seth is marrying another woman, or that Georgina has to run all over Seattle trying on bridesmaid dresses. Still, there are distractions. Georgina’s roommate, Roman, is cluttering her apartment with sexual tension. Then there’s Simone, the new succubus in town, who’s intent on corrupting Seth.
And if that wasn't bad enough, she's started having dreams shadowy, dangerous but alluring dreams, dreams that don't want to let go. These dreams are created by the Oneroi, demons in the service of Nyx, a creature from Hell who's bent on revenge. These are dreams that can trap their chosen victim and drain their powers through nightmares. This mysterious force that’s visiting her thoughts, is trying to draw her into a dark, otherworldly realm. Sooner or later, Georgina knows she’ll be too weak to resist. And Georgina is powerless as she watches those in the real world try to find her, she comes to understand that her freedom her fate lies in the hands of the only one who can find her soul, who just happens to be the man who s about to marry someone else. She’ll discover who she can trust, who she can’t—and that Hell is far from the worst place to spend eternity…
I am seriously loving the audio for this series. Elisabeth Rodgers is rocking the hell out of the narration. She really does deserve a huge amount of credit for pulling me into the story so deeply. I just miss having the ability to highlight, because believe me, there would be a lot of it.
The plot thickens! Some crazy stuff goes down as we head into the homestretch of the series. This book doesn’t have as many different storylines going on at once, but there’s still so much that happens. Everything is starting to pull together now, and is it ever exciting!
There are so many great characters in this series, and my love for them continues to grow. Of course Georgina is freaking amazing, but her group of friends really shine too. I adore Carter and get a kick out of him, but I’m still trying to fully figure him out. I know he knows what’s going on, but just like Georgina, wonder about his interest in her and Seth. Doug is still one of my favorites, I just love the dynamic he and Georgie have.
Succubus Shadows is definitely an emotional rollercoaster at times, taking my heart from achy to elated. I can’t wait to see how everything will fall in to place in the final book.
I really enjoyed this series, too, Christy! The way the demons act, and especially how they interact with a certain angel just made this so different and refreshing 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy the last installment just as much as you enjoyed these!
Have a fantastic Monday!
I need to get to this series. I have heard nothing but awesome things. I will definitely go audio since you love it!
I was recommended this series the other day by someone because I said that I was hesitant to try anything else by her, since I didn’t like VA. I’ll have to see if my library has the first book.
Ok ok ok, will be addin this series to next year’s goals.
I think you will really like the final book, it ended well I thought. So glad you are still loving these!
This is a series I keep meaning to get to but just haven’t yet. I might have to see if my library has them on audio so I can start to catch up! Brilly reviews!
I am so behind on good PNR series, I really want to read this one, but I have not made books on my TBR pile a priority lately.. ;/
My heart is hurting for you. Lol. You’re a sucker for punishment. 😀
Why haven’t I heard of this series? Why? Finding a great PNR series is so hard to find in adult, they always seem so incredibly cheesy or just a faint storyline written around erotica. It sounds a little predictable which I’m not surprised drove you crazy, but personally I don’t mind the lack of surprises, then I can immerse myself completely. Wonderful reviews Christy, going to check these out <3
Oh man, just wait until the last book. I am so curious to know if you figured out allllll of Mead’s secrets. I had my guesses and most were right but classic Mead had to throw in a major unexpected curveball to mind fuck with me.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and Georgie and Seth and Carter and the rest of the gang. I have a special place in my heart for Roman and even shady ass Jerome.
I really hope you love the last book!
I really enjoyed the series but my problem is with G. she always makes me so angry so it’s a bit difficult…
I do want to try this series 🙂
oh wow this sounds just wonderful!!! I need to try out this author and soon. I love those emotional ones though.
Richelle Mead can definitely be brutal on the emotional front Christy, so I can see this series being a rollercoaster in that department. I’m hesitating only because of the succubus element – how does the romance work if she has to sleep with other people? Although it sounds like things with Seth are plenty rocky even without that little tidbit:(
It’s one of those things you should see for yourself, because whatever I say will make it sound bad. lol.
Love this series and Georgina as well
I will be listening to Succubus Shadow this week..eep
*cough, choke* I still need to start this series! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! Honestly, I hate when the heroine’s HEA is dragged on too long but if there is an end in sight, I can get behind that.
Oh man. I so need to get back on these! It’s been ages since I read one of them.
I’m glad you’re loving this series! I love how Mead keeps you guessing throughout this series! The mysteries are fun and you just want to devour each book! Fabulous reviews Christy!
I still haven’t started this series (on the list). But that is cool that the narrator really adds to the story. Maybe I’ll go that route when I start reading these.
This is my backburner series. Not a priority read but I want to get to it eventually. You are enticing me to start this series sooner.
I’ve only heard good things about it, I need to read this series ! And I love a sarcastic heroin 😉
This is one of my favorite series, Christy! And you’re making me want to listen to it as a re-read. 🙂 I adore Georgina and her gang! Seth was my first book boyfriend (after Edward). 😉 I’m glad you’re enjoying the series so much!
