Can you believe November is here? It certainly hasn’t felt like it with temps in the 80s, but it should drop a little next week. Unfortunately. Time falls back an hour and I hate it. I hate that it gets dark so early. Hate it. Hate. It.
I read 10 books in November, and I reached my 2015 goal of 120 books.
My son’s XC team got first in their conference title. Not bad for a bunch of freshmen (college) who had a bit of adjusting to do in the beginning. Next up is sectionals, then hopefully state championships.

For Review:
I’m excited to get Taran’s book, she’s my favorite sister from the series. And Perfect Days is supposed to be effed up, so of course I want to read it.
Purchased:
Hanover House is free right now. I can’t resist the Georgina Kincaid audiobooks.
What I’m Listening To
Heart me some Calexico.
Have a great week!
We have daylight saving in Australia but my state doesn’t recognise it so it makes life very confusing when dealing with the rest of the east coast!
There’s a couple places here that don’t participate, but I;m not in one of those unfortunately.
I hate the time changes too, for some reason I don’t adjust to them well, takes a few days. And yeah- too dark. Love this time of year, but the days are just too short…
That sucks about adjusting. I don’t like this time of year though. I’m all about the hot weather. 😀
Oh my god!!! Georgina Kincaid is one of my all time favourite series!! The whole series rocks. I assume it’s your first time reading it so I REALLY hope you enjoy it. It’s like one of those series were it’s like your baby :’) makes me so emotional. Richelle Mead is the best.
A huge congrats on reaching your reading goal! 120 books is totally awesome!
Also congrats to your son! The state championships would be mind-blowing.
Have a great week,
Amy x
I’m loving the series. I only have the last book left to read and I’m so anxious to see what happens.
Thanks, Amy.
The last book is mind-blowing, seriously. I never expected the ending 🙂 enjoy x
I hate it when it gets dark earlier, too. It feels like the days disappear even quicker, and it’s a drag to leave class when it’s already night out 🙁
Your new books look great, Christy! I’ve read Hanover House and I enjoyed it – hopefully, you will, too.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
I have a feeling I’ll like it too.
OK, I’m going to be needing Perfect Days, it sounds like my kinda book. Well done to the XC team, that’s a great start.
Thanks, Trish. Yeah, get Perfect Days. I hope it’s a good one. Brother is still a top rec though.
You’ve already read November 9 ! It was chosen to be the november book for Kimba’s FB book club, I just pre-ordered it this morning. I hate it too when I have to go to work when it’s still night and come back home and it’s already night, what’s the point of getting up ? Still, I can’t complain, there’s a beautiful Indian summer weather these days – gorgeous ! Enjoy your sunday 😉
Omg, it was good! I’m definitely rereading it with you guys.
yay for the Robson book! SO curious as well! happy reading!
I’m excited for it.
I not only hate that it gets darker earlier but that my kid’s sleep is all jacked up. Good luck to your son’s XC team for sectionals! I hope you enjoy Hanover House. I thought it was pretty good and a fun start to a series. Have a great week!
Thanks, Grace. And yeah, I think I’ll like Hanover House too.
I feel like 2015 flew by like the speed of light. Lol. I can’t believe we’re in November already. Good luck to your son’s team!
Have a great month, Christy!
It did! And thanks, Joy.
I grabbed the Hanover House too. Hope your week ahead is a good one!
I’ll just blame you and Liz if it isn’t. 😉
I’m one of the weirdos that actually likes the time change. I kind of like it getting dark earlier for some reason though I probably wouldn’t enjoy it if got dark at 4:30 for months on end. Congrats to your son and the rest of his team! That’s fabulous! Hanover House is free?? Must go check that out. Have a great week!
W-E-I-R-D-O! lol. Thanks, Katherine. He’s sick now, so he’s trying to feel better before the meet Friday.
Congrats to your son and his team, that is awesome!
I’m excited for Taran’s book too, I couldn’t resist grabbing it! And boo for winter in general, not my favorite season and yes, I know it isn’t winter yet but this week it is only suppose to be in the low 50″s high 40’s after a long Indian Summer so it will freaking feel like winter! 🙁
Thanks, Ali. Now he’s trying to get over being sick before the meet on Friday.
Blah, anything below say … 78, I’m not happy with. I prefer 80s and 90s.
Congrats on your son’s title! I used to hate daylight savings time because it was hard to get my son into a new sleeping mode for school. Now I just don’t like it getting dark so soon. Seems like I leave the house in the dark and get home after dark. LOL
Awesome that you reached your reading challenge. I did too:)
Thanks, Laura. Yeah, I like long sunny days. Too much dark brings me down.
Congrats to your son and his team and congrats to you for making your reading goal!!
I’ll have to see if Hanover House is still free; I’m intrigued by the series.
Have a good week!
Thanks, Bea. Yeah, it’s still free, so get it! 🙂
I can’t wait to read Taran’s book
Me either.
Last weekend our clocks went back and it’s been so dark early this week, I don’t like it either. It isn’t too cold yet here. Congrats for reaching your goodreads goal! I also reached mine, but I set it pretty low. I really enjoyed the Georgina Kincaid series, now I am tempted to re-read the series. Have a great week!
I hate that it gets so dark so early, but I do like the extra hour of sleep 🙂
Congrats on meeting your 2015 goals!
Have a great week!
I also hate it getting dark early. I would much rather have it be dark in the morning! Congrats to your son’s team! Woot! And double WOOT that you reached your 2015 goal. Me so jealous! 😀
I got Hanover House from Netgalley; I hope to read it soon. That’s great you made your reading goal for the year!
Ugh, I don’t think I am going to make my 120 book goal for the year. Oh well. I HATE when it gets dark early. When are we going to get rid of this shitty time change!!??
I hate the time change too. I loathe it getting dark earlier.
Congrats to your son and best of luck on the rest of the season!
Damn blast the farmers! It is the farmers fault for the whole time change right? Did I make that up? Gah whoever is behind it they need to be smacked.
Congrats to your son, that’s impressive. I hate the time change too. The sun went down here last night at 4:54. My kids were ready to go to bed at 6:30. They were confused. I am looking forward to reading November 9!
80s lucky? its been a bit cold here, but yep sheesh nov already o.o
Wooo! You reached 120 books! That’s amazing! I hadn’t heard of Perfect Days so of course I’ll be searching for it! I hope this month is good for you 🙂
I just bought some Georgia Kincaid books a few weeks ago when Amazon was having a sale, but have yet to get to them. Seeing how into them you are makes me more enthusiastic to read them. BTW, congrats to your son and his team!
I love Georgina Kincaid, I hope you are enjoying the series! Seth is seriously a darling, and so much awesome banter.
Oooh… Black Ties! I’m keen to see what you think of that one!!
