Love hurts, and no one knows it better than Georgina Kincaid. If she so much as kisses Seth Mortensen, the shy, sexy, incredibly gifted Seattle writer she's been dating, she'll drain his life force. Georgina is a succubus - a demon who draws her power from other men's pleasure. Admittedly, the shapeshifting and immortality perks are terrific, and yes, Georgina did choose to join the ranks of hell centuries ago. But it seems completely unfair that a she-demon whose purpose is seduction can't get hot and heavy with the one mortal who knows and accepts her for who she is.

It's not just her personal life that's in chaos. Doug, Georgina's co-worker at a local bookstore, has been exhibiting bizarre behaviour, and Georgina suspects that something far more demonic than double espressos is at work. She could use help finding out, but Bastien, an irresistibly charming incubus and her best immortal friend, is preoccupied with corrupting an ultra-conservative talk radio star - and giving Georgina some highly distracting come-hither vibes. Georgina is going to have to work solo on this one - and fast because soon, Doug's life won't be the only one on the line.

Two down, four books to go.

Ah, Georgina, I’m loving you more and more. I’m so glad I get to listen to each installment whenever I want, instead of having to wait a long time between release dates. After listening to Succubus on Top, it’s safe to say I’m completely, 100% hooked!

There’s so much that goes on in Succubus on Top, but Mead does a fantastic job weaving it all together. Seriously, Georgina is one busy lady! Even though there’s a lot of different threads, it’s all tight and pulls together nicely.

I enjoyed Georgia’s wit and sass in the first book, but it seems to have gotten even better. There was definitely some laughing going on while I was listening.

Something I absolutely love about this series, is Mead doesn’t pussyfoot around what Georgina is. She’s a succubus who needs to have sex with men in order to survive, and of course to meet her quota of souls for Hell. I think the author does a great job showing the difference between sex and intimacy, because her heart belongs to one person no matter how many men she bangs.

I think Doug managed to snag the position of favorite secondary character. Though, Carter might edge him out. That could easily change, because they’re all entertaining.

Succubus on Top is fun and exciting. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment, because I’m incredibly curious about what’s in store for Georgina.

Some days, a girl just can't catch a break...

First, Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men, can't have sex with her gorgeous bestselling author boyfriend Seth Mortensen--in case she inadvertently kills him. Second, Georgina's under demonic orders to mentor the new (and surprisingly inept) succubus on the block. Third, someone's manipulating her dreams, draining her energy and supplying eerie visions of her future. Georgina seeks answers from Dante, a dream interpreter with ties to the underworld, but his flirtatious charm only leaves her more confused--especially as the situation with Seth reaches a crisis point. Georgina needs to rein in her out-of-control love life and go toe-to-toe with an enemy capable of wreaking serious havoc among mankind. Otherwise, Georgina, and the entire mortal world, may never sleep easy again...

Oh, man. I think Richelle Mead is trying to break me.

Succubus Dreams is yet another fantastic installment in the Georgina Kincaid series, but it definitely got a bit more emotional than the previous books. My heart kind of hurts.

Despite the pain, there is still plenty of humor and wit to go around, especially with the inclusion of some new characters. And of course, the original characters are just as crazy good.

I really love how there’s a well done plot for each book, while still pushing the overall storyline forward. I have suspicions about where it’s heading, so I’m eager to hurry and listen to the remaining four books.

Speaking of listening … I’m enjoying the audio of this series tremendously. Elisabeth Rodgers does a fabulous job! I highly recommend listening to these on audio. However, I do have to say, the weird music that plays midway and at the end of each book bugs the hell out of me. It drowns out the narrator. Still worth listening to though.

  1. I read this series pretty long ago, but I remember I really enjoyed this series! I got to read the first 5 or so books in a row and then only had to wait for the last book to get released, it was awesome. Georgina is a great character and I agree with you that I liked how Mead handle the sex and succcubus issue. Great reviews and I hope you’ll also enjoy the rest of this series!

I read Richelle Mead’s Succubus Blues and I mean to read more the rest of this series. Georgina is an interesting charter to read and I like Richelle Mead’s humor and wit.
