My TV is on most of the time when I’m home, even when I’m not watching it. I like to have it running in the background while I do other things, including blogging. It’s on TCM and Chiller a lot of the time, but I’m not ashamed to say that I even have it on the Disney channel sometimes. What? Don’t look at me like that.
Anyway.
There are shows that I give more of my attention to, even though I still have to be doing something else when they’re on. My brain is weird like that. All the fall shows have started and I don’t think I’ve ever invested this much time to this many shows at once. Not literally at once. Just currently juggling them. Only one of them I actually watch at the time it airs, though. The rest are at random times throughout the week.
They are …
Supernatural
I was a huge fan from the very first episode and followed it religiously every week, but then I just sort of dropped out around the 6th or 7th season. No real reason I can think of, just needed a break. Several months ago I decided to get caught up, so I watched seasons six through ten and finished just in time for the 11th season to start.
The premiere episode of the 11th season was really good. It was weird though, because the Darkness reminds me so much of the book Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts. A lot! I love that book/series, so I’m not sure if that’s going to bother me or not. I guess we’ll see how it goes.
iZombie
There are little inconsistencies that bother me, but overall, it’s a lot of fun! Who doesn’t love a snarky zombie?
Orphan Black
I’m a little late to the game with this one, so I’m actually playing catch up. I’m in the middle of the 2nd season now. When I started watching, I honestly had no idea what it was about, so I was very surprised! I’m really enjoying it though. The dude that plays Paul is a terrible actor, but damn, the main actress does an amazing job!
Doctor Who
I’ll be honest, last season was lukewarm for me, but this season is starting off much better. I love Missy!
Scream Queens
Listen, I love campy, silly shows and movies, so this is right up my alley. Emma Roberts does a fantastic job. The shit that comes out of her characters mouth has me rolling sometimes!
American Horror Story: Hotel
I couldn’t get into last season and gave up , so I was eager to forget about it and start a new one. Not sure what to think of this one yet, but it’s … interesting. I like that it was inspired by the Cecil Hotel, though. Or whatever it’s called now. And I don’t know if there’s a connection by the writers or not, but I got a smile out of the new owner’s name being Will Drake. Like William Drake, who wrote Grand Hotel.
The Walking Dead
This is the only show I do my damnedest to watch when it airs, or at least the same night. And whoa, did this season ever start out with a bang! I want Carol to be my mom. Oh, and I always watch The Talking Dead, but I count that as part of TWD.
Huge fan of the Doctor and Supernatural. My son and I have been watching I Zombie on Netflix. I am a big fan of the Originals.
I watch The Originals and The Vampire Diaries too, but I save those for when there’s a bunch out and nothing else to watch. I kind of forgot what was happening on TO last time I watched.
I always have it on here too. Or rather Prime Streaming is on since I don’t have cable. lol I’ve not watched any of yours though a couple are on my waitlist. I’m binge-ing on Grimm right now. And really wishing one of them would have a fiery death. lol
I WANT TO WATCH ALL THE SHOWS IN THE WORLD but it’s so hard when I also have other stuff I need to do. I’m like, “Ooh, I wanna watch TWD” but then I go, “But crap, I have a million ARCs to read”. It’s a struggle, I tell you!!! I’m planning to finish THE FLASH soon though, and X-Files, and OUAT, and HTGAWM 😀
Oh yeah, you have some great shows here ! I love Supernatural, iZombie, Orphan Black (the dude that plays Paul maybe not be a good actor but hot damn, he’s very easy on the eyes), Doctor Who and The walking dead. My daughters absolutely want to watch Scream queens, but we haven’t had the opportunity yet. I love that post title, “Television is rotting my brain”, LOL !
I have the TV on all the time, too! It’s just for the noise so I can drown out the dogs next door barking all day long. I love my neighbors to death but their little dog does not want to be outside all day. Okay, I’m done.
I would NEVER judge you… okay, maybe a little, but my son just discovered the old Looney Tunes on Boomerang and LOVES them so they are on all day long. Yep, laughing at bodily harm is genetic (woot!)
I love Supernatural and iZombie! I’ve tried watching the Walking Dead and chickened out. Maybe I should try again? I have tried Black Orphan, part of the first season and really liked it. I can’t remember why I stopped watching it. ;/
Dr Who is much better this season.
SPN, sigh, I am still watching but it should have ended ages ago
I must admit, the only one I watch and religiously is The Walking Dead (and the first season of Fear The Walking Dead, although it doesn’t even come close to the awesomeness of the original… Yet). Between the ending of season 5 and the start of 6 now, I convinced the hubby to watch it and now he’s obsessed too. The problem with that is, that we record it and I usually watch it the next day, but with the long hours he works, he wants to wait and watch it together on the weekend. But now I’m considering a sneaky mid week viewing before him 😀
I’m dying to see episode one of the new season and CAROL! That woman could kill you with a casserole in her hands! 😀
Wow, I watch a lot of TV but I don’t watch any of the shows you watch. That’s a first. On my list of shows to get around to one day are Dr. Who and Orphan Black though. Now I’m thinking I should be watching The Walking Dead too.
i hardly ever get to watch what I want. The kids are always watching stuff and then my husband turns on sports….. so I am without a bunch of series. I watch the news. Lame, right?
I keep missing Supernatural! I get into it and then something happens and I lose the time to watch it. :p I so need to start that one from the beginning. Netflix! I have stopped watching the Walking Dead, but I keep doing that. They kill an animal, I stop watching… so you know I’ve done that several times now. The last time they showed a dog and I just said… Nope!
Still.. I need to watch iZombie.
Love Supernatural and I manage to look past those fine manly specimens!
Doctor Who, I am loving the new series – I do like the new doctor and I am just watching the new series of TWD now, have missed it so much!
There is just now enough hours in the day for tv and blogging (and work!!)
Yeah, I’ve already cut way back on blogging because of time. I’m always doing something else while watching, like blogging, paperwork, etc. So I still feel productive when I watch a show. lol.
I also tend to have the TV on when I’m home. I don’t have cable and without it I can’t get the local channels so I have NetFlix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and CBS Access. With all of those, I still pay less than what I was paying for cable every month. HetFlix and Hulu have been time sucks. Oh, I’ve started watching so many shows. Last week I binged on the first two seasons of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D., 44 episodes and now I’m watching the current season on Hulu. <3
Other shows I love: NCIS, Charmed, Flash, Arrow, Miss Fisher's Mysteries, Gotham, and Primeval. Also good are Murdoch Mysteries, Columbo, Supernatural, How to Get Away with Murder, Once Upon A Time, Bones, Castle, Sleepy Hollow, and the now-defunct Forever.
So apparently you enjoy creepy, scary, intense shows. LOL I haven’t watched any of these. My husband loves shows like this, but they totally creepy me out. Especially American Horror Story. I watched the second season, the one in the assylm, and it totally terrified me. It’s one of my husband’s favorite shows, but when he watches it I leave the room. LOL I tend to watch comedies myself. My faves are Big Bang Theory, New Girl, and I’m a sucker for Mistresses. I’m so addicted!!
Love the shows you’re watching… gotta catch up with Scream Queens and AHS Hotel only because Lady Gaga is in it. DIdn’t like the seasons after the first one.
I stopped watching Supernatural when they had that whole Leviathan arc, didn’t like that and didn’t pick it up since.
Orphan Black is the bomb!
Ah, TV is awesome
I have not seen supernatural since season 2 and The walking dead since season 4 i think? I am planning to catch up on Dead.
I loved
Once Upon a Time
Black Sails
The Musketeers
Game of Thrones
Sleepy Hollow
Grim is actually pretty good but I have not seen it in a while
Mistresses 😉
Devious Maids
and I am sure I am missing a few.
The only one I’ve watched is Supernatural… and I stopped at about series 10… One day I will catch up!
I watch twd. Gave up on supernatural. Oh yeah, I love scream queens!! This season I’m watching Quantico, and I’m catching up on Stitchers.
I really want to start watching Supernatural. I watched the first episode and really enjoyed it but the show seems to be too dark to watch on my Kindle so I’ve got to watch it on the TV so I haven’t gotten to it. I love Doctor Who! I’m definitely liking the 9th season better than last season. I like Capaldi but something just wasn’t clicking and I don’t love the relationship between him and Clara. Great list! I usually have the TV on all the time too but I tend to watch crime shows.
I also like to have that TV background noise. I never watched Supernatural, gasp I know. But I’m not much of an alien, supernatural-y kind of girl. IZombie I like, but when she eats the brains I throw up in my mouth a little. I hate that part–and walking dead I’m all about it. Nothing wrong with some tv, hey reading can be the same–encompassing and all time consuming.
You are a stronger woman than me Christy! I can’t watch American Horror Story. I watched the first episode of the first season and had to leave the room. My husband loved it, but I couldn’t even read while he was watching because I could obviously hear everything and it freaked me out. Love Supernatural though! I’m still all the way back on Season 2. Fail 🙁
I love The Walking Dead SO MUCH!!! I thought the season premier was so awesome. Carol is a rock star.
I honestly don’t watch most shows when they air, because I don’t have time! I have the first two seasons of Orphan Black (they were really cheap) but I still need to watch them. Pretty sure I’ll love the show though! I’ve seen a bit of iZombie and I really like the show, but again, difficult for me to keep up with. Right now I’m mostly watching a few comedies like Grandfathered and The Grinder – quick and funny!
Yeah, I’m already falling behind on most of them. -sigh- I’ll just end up watching several episodes at a time. I don’t think I heard of The Grinder.
Just wanted to jump in and say, I’m really enjoying the Grinder and Grandfathered is pretty funny too! I wish there were more sitcoms this season, haha.
I love iZombie! Can’t wait to start season 2 (I’m collecting a few episodes before I start, since I binged watched season 1, ahah) I need to catch up on Orphan Black, but yes, season two is awesome! I haven’t seen any of the new Doctor yet…
Oh and I watched the opening for Scream Queens, not sure how I feel about it.
Great t.v list!
We literally watch the same damn shows!!! I love them all. Though Scream Queens is getting hard for me to get into. I didn’t know about the Cecil Hotel. So cool. I am so obsessed with Doc Who. I never stopped watching Supernatural. I know some people haven’t liked the past couple seasons, but any show with Dean in it is fine with me. I named my cat after Castiel.
Ah Supernatural. I’m still back at the start of season 10 somewhere, I really should catch up! Aside from that, the only other show on this list that I’ve watched is Doctor Who (and 1.5 seasons of The Walking Dead, but I gave up after that – I keep being told to pick it up again but zombies aren’t really my thing :/ )
I’ve heard mixed things about American Horror Story…is it the sort of show you can pick up with any season?
My show of the moment is How To Get Away With Murder, so good, so twisty.
I love Supernatural, iZombie, Haven, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, Criminal Minds and Chicago PD.
I started watching iZombie and Agent Carter but I’m still feeling hungover after Sense8 which was superb 🙂
