Sunday Post #146 (10/11/15) – It’s Hot Out There!

Posted October 10, 2015 | 42 Comments

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes last week! It was nice and low-key, but I ended up getting feverish and felling really blah for most of the beginning of the week, so I wasn’t very active blog-wise. I didn’t necessarily feel sick, just not 100%. More like 6o%. Now I’m aboutΒ  75%. At least I’m passing. lol.

Oh man, and it’s seriously still like summer here with the temps in the 90’s! I’m loving it while it lasts.

On the Blog

  • The New Hunger by Isaac Marion (review) – Interesting prequel to Warm Bodies.
  • Dirty Thoughts by Megan Erickson (review) – A wonderful 2nd chance romance.

Books Read

Brother by Ania Ahlborn

Break Me by Roni Loren

Surviving Ice by KA Tucker

Books Acquired

For Review:

Looking forward to all three books, but I’m especially excited for November 9!

Have you seen the trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies yet? I’m definitely looking forward to it. It’s super hot once the proper young ladies start kicking ass. lol

Have a great week!

-snort- No. Everything must be zombiefied!

Yeah, you don’t want to know what I had to do to get November 9. πŸ˜‰

  1. Yay for getting your hands on November 9, it’s going to be one of those rare auto-buys on the day for me. I can’t wait for a COHo fix!
Sorry you’re not feeling well, feeling blah and off form is nearly worse than being really sick as you have to carry on as normal. I’d rather be sick, sick and able to lie in bed feeling sorry for myself!

  2. Oh boo to feeling crappy. Glad you are getting better.I mean you should be feeling ok because you got November 9!! So jealous!I hope it is amazing. It is one of the VERY few book I preordered. Have a great week!

  3. I hope you’ll be back to 100% very soon, Christy, it’s so tiring to feel blah like that!

I’m so jealous you got November 9 for review! I need that book, and I need it now πŸ˜€

Did you enjoy Surviving Ice? I loved it, but then again, it’s Tucker, and everything she writes, I love.

Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve not been feeling well. But, I get it… between my allergies and the jetlag from spending a week in California, I’m about beat. I’m probably feeling 80% myself. Shooting for a solid 90% when I return to work on Tuesday. πŸ˜‰ I got N9 last week too and I can’t wait to read it. I have one book for a review tour that I need to read today, but then N9 is next on my list. I just can’t wait.

Hope you have a great week!

  5. We got to 90 this weekend too (Friday) and I am so loving it as well! Suppose to cool down a bit but still very much an Indian Summer and I couldn’t be happier about it.

I have felt the same way recently. Not sick necessarily although I have had a stuffy nose and sneezing like crazy but mostly, I just don’t feel right. Not sick just, blah. I hope we both are better soon! I hate not being at 100%.

  6. Glad you’re percentage is climbing. πŸ™‚ I just noticed the other day the movie for PaPaZ. I have the book but haven’t read it yet (same with The Martian) which is basically the story of my life. *sigh* lol We’ve definitely hit Fall weather here in North Carolina. Temps falling, leaves falling, acorns falling…:D

  8. I am sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. I hope you’ll be back to 100% soon! I don’t have a lot of books on my wishlist on amazon as I can’t buy books there unless I win a gift card, but I think it’s really neat they e-mail you when an item on your wishlist drops. I hope you’ll enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  9. I hate the feeling 75%! I’m almost rather actually get sick so I can go to bed and be done with it but I complain when that happens too so I guess at 75% I can still get stuff done. Hopefully you’re feeling back at 100% soon. I really want to read Don’t Look Back. I’ve heard great things about it. Have a great week!

  10. I hope you are feeling like your mean old self soon. I am most curious about the New Hoover book myself. Totally want to check that one out. It has been nice and warm here too we are supposed to be back up to 80 this week. Loving the warm weather.

  11. Ha! see I am over the warm weather and I am very excited to see the temp drop a bit. (still in the 80s here but the mornings feel a little cooler)

Glad to see you are feeling a little better, and happy belated birthday! I didn’t realize ours were so close (mine is this sunday)

November 9 looks interesting. I can’t wait to see what you think of it.
