Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she's ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she'd do. He shows her what it's really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew's dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

J.A. Redmerski’s In the Company of Killers series is one of my favorites, so I figured it was about time I tried The Edge of Never. The two series are pretty different, but I still enjoyed this book a lot!

Really, who doesn’t love a good road trip? It was so much fun going on this journey with Cam and Andrew, watching them take chances, grow closer and bond over music. Yes, there is music involved! Quite a bit. Major bonus points for that.

Cam and Andrew are great characters on their own, but I love them even more when they’re together. I connect a lot with Cam when it comes to her need to just pick up a go, to go out on a whim and travel with no set destination. And I adore Andrew and his teasing and flirty personality. They’re so funny together too, especially when they try to embarrass each other. The chemistry is definitely strong between these two!

I want to make it perfectly clear that I truly like this book, but do have to say, there are a few minor things that brought it down some. Just a couple of reasons include the conversations about being slutty and the double-standard involved, and the little contradictions and odd details that were off really stuck out. I mean, there’s more, but like I said, they’re fairly minor, and all the positive aspects of the book grossly outweigh the negative. In my opinion, anyway.

Overall, The Edge of Never is a very fun and touching book that has me wanting to jump into the next one.

  1. I read this one so long ago I think I really liked it (?) I do remember there being a ton of heart ripping but I don’t remember if it was this book or the next book. There’s darkness, too and that killed the series for me.

She is a fantastic writer, though, to rip all those feelings from me, though!!!! I’m glad you gave this series of hers a try!!!

  2. I heard pretty good things about this book a while back, so I grabbed it. (I think :/) and I’ve been wanting to read it but I put it off. I love a good road trip read, so I’m looking forward to that aspect of it. Glad you wound up liking it!
