Well, I am officially the parent of an adult now. We celebrated my son’s birthday during the day on Saturday with a BBQ, cake, and gifts. Now he’s out celebrating his adultness with his adult friends doing adult things I probably don’t want to know about. lol. I need a drink …
The beginning of the week started off well, but that didn’t last long. I’ve mostly felt off lately and wasn’t feeling good for a couple days. I just haven’t felt like doing anything. I have been reading though, and it’s been nice reading so many non-review books, just knocking out some of the TBR books I’ve wanted to read for awhile.
I also updated to Windows 10, which went smoothly. I don’t really see the big deal. I mean, it’s pretty much how I already had my computer setup with the previous version using a couple of tweeks. *shrugs* Okay, there are a few new features, but nothing I’m really gaga over. Except the calculator – now that improvement I like. π

For Review:
I’m really looking forward to reading this.
Purchased:
Yep, you guessed it, more price drops from my wishlist.
Hope you have a great week!
Can’t wait to hear what you thought of The Edge of Never. I have it on audio but need to get to it. We’ll Never be Apart looks so good!! Enjoy your new books and feel better!
Awe your baby isn’t a baby anymore, but I am sure he will always need his Momma. Windows 10 is so much nicer than 8 which I loathed.
So, do you have a wishlist on Amazon and they alert you when the price drops??? Why don’t I know about this? Oh wait…
Go to the Doctor, already! Maybe it’s time for that gall bladder to be gone. Doesn’t that always fix everything??? π
Add books to your wishlist, and then whenever you go on, filter it by price drops. It’ll show all the books that are cheaper than when you added them. But the price drops are usually temporary.
No, make me! Nah, I have an appointment for my annual soon, so we’ll see. Haha – you’d think removing the gall bladder is the answer to everything with the way doctors enjoy removing them.
I love it when prices drop for books that you want. You got a nice stack this week.

I picked up We’ll Never Be Apart too, I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will be a good one.
Glad you are getting some of your TBR pile knocked down, that is always a good feeling.
Yay for getting in some just for fun reads. Hope you’re feeling all spry and spiffy again soon. And gah at the kidlet being an adult. You definitely deserve a drink or two. lol
I wondered about reading non-review books. If they’re books I really want to read and love I wonder if I’ll feel compelled to write about them – either on the blog or at least in brief on Goodreads….
Hope you’re feeling better again soon!
Deb
I am so sorry you haven’t been feeling well. Feel better! We’ll Never Be Apart looks awesome.
I’m reluctant to go near any of these newer versions of Windows! I’m still using XP which does everything I need. When I put Windows 7 into my last computer, it crashed and destroyed everything. So not keen to install anything new by Windows now. I don’t have the money to replace another computer!
*sighs* yeah, being parents to adults is a very weird feeling! My oldest turned 20 this summer, and my second oldest will be 18 in September… I don’t feel like I’m old enough to be their mom, Christy!
I enjoyed The Edge of Never, and I hope you did too! Your new books look good, especially We’ll Never Be Apart.
Have a fantastic week, and happy reading! Hopefully, you’ll have more energy next week π
Especially a son, he’ll never be grown up, so don’t start feeling adrift.
I’m on a no-ARC stretch right now, too, just reading a few things I’ve wanted to try.
Sounds like a pretty good week β bookish and otherwise! I read The Edge of Never right after it came out and really enjoyed it. I hope you did as well. Bounce is on my list to read sooner rather than later, so I’m interested to see your thoughts on it.
Have a great week!
Ah, and here i am preparing for 12!! lol
I loved Sanctum by Sarah Fine – so I really hope you did too!
Oh, I did! I’ll read the 2nd book soon.
With Apple they update the systems what seems like weekly. It’s a pain because then all the apps have to update and they are also annoying.
Oh wow! Since I’m just starting this whole motherhood ride I can’t even imagine having all of my children be adults. I’ll be keeping you in my prayers. I know that’s got to be bittersweet. I’m with you, I haven’t seen much difference between Windows 10 and Windows 7 myself. And so far nothing has been a bad experience for me! Hope you enjoy your new books! Have a great week!

My son is going to be 21 this year. Yikes! I know how you feel. I do hope you shake the blahs. It seems like something is going around this week. Enjoy your relaxing reads:)
It’s definitely weird having adult children! And yeah I’m thinking we don’t want to know what’s going on! That’s good to know about Windows 10. I keep getting told I can upgrade but that kind of thing always makes me a little nervous. Have a great week!
I hope you loved Sanctum. Sarah Fine is one of my favs. Wow. Your son is an adult now. That is a sobering thought as a mother, I am sure. I know, I keep going through slumps where I don’t want to do anything blog related. At least, I was ambitious in the winter and I am prepped all through August right now and working on September. I know I will need the cushion with company coming again. I just grabbed that Shadow and Crown book too for .99 I am reading such great reviews for the series. Let me know if you see the other two go on sale in that series.
I’ve been feeling off lately, too. I think mine is because I have to return to school tomorrow so it was a “mourning summer” mood. My computer keeps wanting me to update to Windows 10, and I’m not sure I want to do that…at all. I like what I’ve got. Have a great week!
Happiest of birthdays to your son! I’m celebrating my ‘adult’ birthday this year too and it’s awesome to see the parents perspective! Hope you enjoy the books & have a great week!
I think maybe less is more when knowing what they are up to! I am dreading mine becoming teenagers never mind adults, they way they are just now they’ll have tattoos and piercings before they are 16!!
Hope you have a good week and enjoy your books!
I think I’ll need a drink too when my kid becomes an adult, but I still have a few more years. Yay, for getting to knock some TBR read out of the way!
Hmmhh I need to set up a wishlist on Amazon as I didn’t know about price alert but then again maybe that’s a good thing! I do have it set up on my audible account and I get sucked in everytime!
Happy birthday to your adult son! Now you really have to grow up! :O
Happy B-Day to your son!
I love when I periodically check my Amazon wishlist and see those price drops.
Enjoy your books and have a great week!
I just put We’ll Never Be Apart on my TBR! I can’t wait to see your review on it.
Happy birthday to your son! I can only imagine what you’re feeling but I say, have that drink! π
I’m waiting to upgrade until the bugs get worked out. Though I may get a new laptop before I get the upgrade.
Enjoy your non-review books and have a good week!
My mom felt the same way when I graduated from college, lol. At one point, she was happy that she has one less kid to pay tuition for, but then she also went through a “phase” in which she called me “my baby girl” every single time, lol. But don’t worry, we always need our mommas every now and then even though we don’t show it, lol.
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on We’ll Never Be Apart but alas, I wasn’t granted an ARC so I’m just going to have to wait by the sidelines and read reviews and just do grabby hands everytime I see it on the blogosphere until it officially releases, lmao! Hope you have a great week ahead, Christy! π
I don’t even want to think about my boy as an adult! I’ve been blasting my IG with throwbacks to when my kid was a baby. I’m not ready!!
I have a little while before the kiddos are adults… although the hubby was saying yesterday that he wished they’d grow up already so we can plan Mum and Dad trips with no kids!
Enjoy your new reads… Looking forward to your Edge of Never review.
I have windows 10 on my work computer and it’s so disorienting lol.. Most of the time I just spend time in the desktop anyway, so it’s not really much of a difference. Congrats on your adult son lol! Hopefully things get easier.
So not looking forward to my kids adulting. Nope. I don’t blame you for wanting to have a drink, or two. I love that you’re fascinated with the calculator on your brand spanking new Windows 10. Lol.
I updated to Windows 10 as well, and the only thing I don’t like is the fact that it lessened the touch screen capabilities on my computer…which I just got from my boyfriend. *sigh*
I hope you’re feeling better
Happy birthday to your son! kids grow too quickly, I have a 10 year old and 8 year old & they are growing up so fast.
I loved Sanctum! such a great series. Enjoy all of your new books π
See, now if I updated to Windows 10 my computer would crash and never come back again. That is my luck, so I will stick with my oldness. Happy Birthday to the new adult! I had my birthday Sunday. Ugh, I am so old. I can’t even tell people my age now.
Kids grow so fast π I hope you feel better soon Christy. I’m happy you got to read some books that have been on your TBR. I have Bounce for review as well. I hope it ends up being a good read!
I am sorry to hear you were feeling a bit off this week, I hate those weeks. I am having one of those weeks at the moment. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to update to windows 10 as I wasn’t sure how much changed, but I am glad to hear the switch went smoothly. Have a great week!
