Well, it was an emotional week with my son’s graduation, but I’m okay now. Mostly. I think some of the underclassmen girls cried at the graduation about him leaving more than I did. <insert eye roll here> I wish I were joking.
Anyone watch the X-games? We love them. And I’m curious to see if American Phararoh wins the Triple Crown. My gut says yes, but my head has doubts.
The temperatures are still in the 90s, but they’re supposed to go up to the 100s this week. Hooray (β sarcasm).
I have a giveaway on Facebook/Twitter – Win an e-copy of Bringing Home the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon. Just like or RT.

For Review:
This isn’t the official cover for Hidden Bodies, so don’t judge it. π But it is the sequel to the amazing You, and I can barely contain my excitement!
I was on the fence about The Heart Goes Last, but my instincts are telling me to read it. We’ll see.
Purchased:
I’ve heard good things about this series, so I grabbed Rush since it’s only $1.99. And Unbreak Me is free.
What Else …
Love & Mercy opens this weekend and I can’t wait to watch it. I’ve been in love with the Beach Boys since I was little. I’d put their tape in my Walkman and roller skate around the neighborhood. That was the 80’s and I was like 7 or 8. lol. #Dork
Have a great week!
Glad you survived lol about the teen girls. We like the X-games too. My son was in a car accident tonight because some dude had road rage..grr. Enjoy your lovely weather *evil grins*
Oh shit! Hope he’s okay. People need to chill about stuff like that.
He is fine. Mad really. He was in the right lane and a motorcycle past him. He thought it was clear and merged over, another biker was behind and the two occupied the same lane for a bit, when he went past my son’s driver window he waved to indicate he was sorry as the biker passed him. Once the biker got in front of my son he slammed on his breaks..um my son in his huge truck hit him. Ooops. My son got ticketed for driving too close. The biker had no insurance, no helmet and was ticketed for numerous things..my son doesn’t know for what. Of course by the time the cops got there my son said bikers all appeared from nowhere. *assholes* The only damage to the truck was the licence plate fell off.
People are such dicks sometimes. I’m glad the cops got there before anything else happened, and especially glad he’s okay.
Oh, I hadn’t realised the sequel to YOU was quite that far progressed. Very exciting! Am intrigued by the latest Margaret Atwood title as well. I’ve struggled with some of her recent releases…. but realise that’s me not her!
Deb
Yup, it’s a September release, so I think she had the 2nd one in the works already. I haven’t read any of Atwood’s books, so … *crosses fingers*
I grabbed Unbreak Me as well. It sounds good. The heart goes last sounds intriguing will check it out. Have a great week
And how could I pass up free? π
LOL about the teen-girls who were so sad about your son graduating and leaving them behind. I would have totally rolled my eyes too, if I were you!
Your new books look really good Christy, and I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Have a great week ahead and happy reading.
Seriously. One had her arms wrapped around his waist in a death grip. He’s just like patting her on the back and said he’ll see her Monday because he’s going to help coach the XC team for summer training. lol.
Too funny about the teen girls!!! The new books look good! I still have You to read – it’s on my kindle just need to get to it!!
Funny this is, he’s going to see them Monday and most of the summer to help with XC training. lol. Oh, Grace, you need to read You immediately!
Congrats to your son! what’s next for him?
I actually heard good things about Unbreak Me.
He’ll attend a college not too far from here and run XC and Track for them.
That’s awesome! I bet you love that he will be close. π
So funny about the teen girls! Graduations are so nice but so emotional for us mother’s as well! Congratulations on your son’s graduation. Have a great week and enjoy all of those books!
Thanks Cindy! It is pretty funny. I had to school my facial expressions and refrain from laughing at the time though.
I like the Beach Boys music as well. They were one of my dad’s favourite groups and he used to play the albums to me as a kid. I grew up in the 80’s loving 60’s music!
I don’t even know what got me started on them. I was really into 50’s and 60’s music, but my grandparents mostly listened to country, and my parents listened to rock. So who knows. lol.
We reached 100 yesterday! *melts*
I am so happy to see you are loving Kate and Curran! (hahaha) love that series
Have great week!
Yuck. Temps in the 100s is normal around here during the summer, but it always takes some adjusting.
All those broken hearts. LOL I’d love to tell if we finally have a Triple Crown winner, but not sure if you know yet!
Your weather sounds like mine and I”m lovin it!
Yeah, I watched it. I think it’s funny that he’ll go down in history with a misspelled name. lol. I love hot weather too, but it takes some adjusting to at the beginning of summer.
Sounds like you have had a great week, Can have your heat its is freezing here in Scotland!
Hope you have a good week!
Heather
I definitely prefer the heat over the cold. π
Glad that graduation went well, and you survived it. Rush looks good. Hope you enjoy your new books!
Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
Me too! π
I was a birthday party and didn\’t get to see the race, but I was excited when I looked at Facebook later in the evening. π Your heart won out.Have a good week!

Second Run Reviews
I should’ve bet on the race. lol.
Teenage girls can be the most annoying creatures. I’m thankful that mine aren’t of the overly dramatic sort though they still have their moments! I can’t believe that American Pharaoh pulled it off. It’s so exciting and I don’t even follow horse racing. Have a great week!
I think teenagers in general can be the most annoying creatures. lol.
I love both the Jennifer Estep and Ilona Andrew’s series as well! I need to get back to both of them soon as I was hoping to catch up with them completely this year. Never enough time is there? Have a great week and happy reading!
Haha no there isn’t. Hope you catch up with Kate Daniels.
We hit ninety today and supposed to again tomorrow, talk about a change in two days we went from 60 to 90 no nice warm up. Instant heat! So you survived the graduation, I am sure it feels good to have it over since you have been dreading it for so long. Now what for your son?
Blah, it’s 97 right now. I hope the forecast is lying about tomorrow being 105. Yeah, it’s harder when there’s such a jump like that, instead of easing into it. He’s looking for a part-time job and will help with his high school’s XC summer training. Then he’ll attend and run for a college not too far from here.
Glad the graduation went well and seriously LOL about the girls!! So happy you picked up the Eve Silver books, I think you will like them. And yay for American Pharaoh, so cool!
Have you started Hidden Bodies yet?
No, I haven’t started it yet. I probably won’t for awhile still.
LOL about your son!!! I love the Beach Boys too and have all of their music on my iPad! Their music reminds me of my childhood, because my dad use to always play their music. I’m not a fan of this heat either. My air-conditioning has been on 24/7 π
Bwahaha oh that is too funny about the underclassman girls. ::snort:: Glad you survived the graduation!
Hahaha! He must be such a heartbreaker!
Well, I guess you know how the Belmont turned out. π I can imagine it was an emotional week for though that’s funny about the girls. π π
100s? *shudders* Stay cool. Eeep.
I am really curious about RUSH and I almost picked it up! Hope you like it!
Stormi
I’ve been planning on buying The Martian for months. I’ve hear nothing but great things about it. Can’t wait to read your review!
Congrats on your son’s graduation! Hope you have a great week!
Congrats to your son! Love Kate and Curran. Looking forward to Hidden Bodies. Have a great week.
Awww Christy at least you weren’t alone in your crying hehe! Sounds like he’s a bit of a ladies man!
I didn’t realize Love and Mercy came out this week. I saw the trailer in theaters a month or so back and it looked great. PLUS, I really like Paul Dano. Great actor.
Hehehe! I am sure I have that all ahead of me with my boys… They are only 7 and 5, but I guess it won’t be long.
Enjoy your reads Christy!
Spoiler Alert: American Pharaoh won. π
It was awesome hearing about American Pharaoh! I was coming home from the book festival when I heard, but luckily my husband recorded the whole thing. I couldn’t wait to get home to watch it. X-Games…yes! Glad to hear you made it through your son’s graduation. I’ll join the eyeroll at those girls. Try and keep cool this week, Christy!
Oh, my god, they cried?? That is so funny… I don’t think I was ever that attached to another human being! Besides my family, of course. lmao Congrats to your son! It was bittersweet for my mom when my brother and I graduated as well. π Rush looks really good. Will have to keep an eye on your review π
I’ll never understand why people anem race horses the weirdest stuff they can throw together. Granted American Pharaoh sounds a lot cooler than most. I still need to read Rush, I’ve had it for a year now and I just keep forgetting about it.
