After twelve years of secret training, Atticus O’Sullivan is finally ready to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth and double the number of Druids in the world. But on the eve of the ritual, the world that thought he was dead abruptly discovers that he’s still alive, and they would much rather he return to the grave.
Having no other choice, Atticus, his trusted Irish wolfhound, Oberon, and Granuaile travel to the base of Mount Olympus, where the Roman god Bacchus is anxious to take his sworn revenge—but he’ll have to get in line behind an ancient vampire, a band of dark elves, and an old god of mischief, who all seem to have KILL THE DRUID at the top of their to-do lists.
“When in doubt, blame the dark elves.”
I love Atticus. I love Granuaile. I love Oberon. I love the humor. I love the secondary characters. I love Luke Daniels narrating. I love this series!
There you have it. The end.
Seriously, I’ve kind of been a slacker with this series, but no more! I’ve missed it too much. I like that Trapped jumps twelve years. Granuaile kicks ass now, and I can’t even tell you how much I love that Atticus finds it so attractive. He has confidence in her skills and treats her with respect. I didn’t think Atticus could get any better, but the way he is with her has bumped him up even more.
I had forgotten just how funny this series is. I suggest you do not eat or drink with listening/reading, because it’s a damn choking hazard. Trapped almost killed me on more than one occasion. Ahh, but what a way to go …
As usual, this was exciting, fun, clever and completely held my attention. The plot is crazy. In a good way. Now that the word has spread that Atticus didn’t really meet his demise, his enemies want to fix that. Immediately. And, you know, fucking dark elves always ruining shit.
This is a series I highly recommend listening to on audio. Luke Daniels makes this a truly fantastic experience. He was the first narrator to show me audiobooks could actually be amazing! Now, I have to listen to the series, because Luke truly is Atticus. And Oberon. And every other character.
Trapped was another wonderful installment in the Iron Druid Chronicles. You’re sorely missing out if you haven’t started it yet. I mean, you really might as well move to Loserville.
I always blame the elves. Don’t you?? You know me, you had me at humor.
Hehe!! This sounds like fun1 I love these kinds of reads… they need a warning label on the front… Choking hazard and fuckin Elves!! Bwahahaha!
Oooh I have always wanted to read this series, I actually have the books in my shelves , Lovely Review 😀
You know I never would have thought funny looking at this. I know a lot love the series. Might have to check it out one day even though it’s out of my norm.
I’ve only read book one in this series so I had to look away from the book review to avoid finding out what happens. I just had to comment on the serirs though. I loved Hounded-the action, the humour, the characters, the french poodle jokes! Hope to read the rest of the series soon!
Is this series done yet? I ask because I want to binge read them. I can smell a new project comin…
I read all the prequels to this series but have yet to actually pick it up. I need to change that don’t I?
You had me with the humor 😉 This series is already on my to-read list, shelved “next” but I’ve added “funny” to make it go up more quickly !
You did audio? I own book one on my Nook, but maybe audio would work. I need to see what all the fuss is about 🙂
I feel like a slacker with so very many series Christy, this one included! I’ve been meaning to start it for the longest time, I have the first book waiting for me, but I keep getting distracted. MUST MAKE TIME FOR ATTICUS AND OBERON!!!
I have heard so much about this series and you seem like you enjoy these books a lot. Your review makes me want to read these asap! I’ll have to think about going the audiobook way because I’m obsessed with them right now!
Lovely review, Christy!
I’m in Loserville.
Okay, we all know I probably will never get around to reading this. It’s just not my cuppa of tea. BUT I would willingly drool at the cover of Trapped for hours on end. 😉 And we all know I rule Loserville, so… *shrug*
This is the last one I read, so I’m behind. But I LOVE this series too and agree that lots of laughing is involved!
I love Luke Daniels’ narration of this series. I’m a bit behind, but very hopeful that I’ll have time to catch up soon. I love his voice for Oberon especially. 🙂
Ahh yes.. this one is with the Dark Elves. lot of snickering for those parts. I just caught up on this series and I am eager for more, but there aren’t anymore until next year, GRR!
I love this series too and Luke Daniels does make it work so well!!
Look at you! You have flown way past me! Good for you. I need to catch up, I’m only on book 3. If only this new releases didn’t get on the way 🙂
I really should get started on this series. Maybe when I’m done devouring Darynda Jones and Ilona Andrews…
I LOVE that you love, love, love this! I haven’t tried out this series yet. I’ll check out the audio sample and see if I like the narrator. Great review!
Okay, I’m a bit of a loser because I think this is the firt time I’ve heard of this series. Eek! I know!! I can feel the love though and I like the time jump between series because it doesn’t happen a lot. All the possibilities of what could’ve happened in those 12 years is endless! And I’m glad you liked the audio because I would def binge listen this! I need to read books by male authors more anyway! Awesome review Christy!
I don’t want to live in Loserville so I think I will give this series a try. LOL
It sounds good and I’m looking for an audiobook to try.
Entertaining review Christy!
I’m so so so late with this series. I have book 1 for years but I still need to read it!
“I love Atticus. I love Granuaile. I love Oberon. I love the humor. I love the secondary characters. I love Luke Daniels narrating. I love this series!
There you have it. The end.” – snort. I love it. This series is so damn good. I need to re-read. Or maybe I’ll try the audio as I imagine this series is awesome as an audio book.
