Sunday Post #105 (11/23/14)

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It has been a bit crazy hectic around here, so I haven’t had much blogging time. Thankfully, reading can be done pretty much anywhere.Β  Oh, how I love my Kindle! Even the app on my phone has saved me. Two highlights this week involve my son. Shocking, I know. He was the athlete from his school picked by the city to receive an award for having good character – a leader, sportsmanship, stuff like that. So we were treated to a nice “V.I.P. lunch” at the baseball stadium on Tuesday while they held a small ceremony. And then Thursday was the cross country sectionals, which was his last high school race. It was very bittersweet. I got a little weepy when getting his uniform and stuff together for him to turn in on Friday. -sigh-

What I’m Listening To

Griffin Peterson’s new song Set Me Free! His voice has the special something that I love.

Okay, I’m going to keep pushing YOU on everyone until they read it! It’s still only $1.99, so grab it! Seriously, this book is so deliciously insane. If my review doesn’t convince you, then see what Michele and LizΒ  have to say.

The Restorer (The Graveyard Queen #1) is also currently only a $1.99. I love this series!

Big Little Lies is $3.99 right now. I’m sure because it’s a Best Fiction 2014 finalist.

Have a great week!

  1. Your sons last event must have been such a bittersweet moment but from the sounds of it, he will be on to bigger and better soon πŸ™‚ I love the look of Maybe and all those musical notes. And I never heard of Griffin Peterson until I read Maybe Someday but I’ve been a fan since. I’ve been listening to that song while I read and typed and even on first listen it’s just to catchy, love it!

  2. The VIP lunch sounds really nice πŸ™‚ And even if it was bittersweet to prepare his uniform to hand it in, there will be other uniforms in the future for sure πŸ™‚
Maybe has a cover that makes me want to read it! With the music on the woman, I can’t help but think there will be something about music in the story as well.
I hope you’ll enjoy your new books, Christy. Have a fantastic Sunday, and happy reading.

  3. That’s exciting news for your son. Congratulations!
Every one I visit is talking about how busy it’s been and how fast this month flew by. I feel the same and am scrambling to catch up, personally and on my blog. It’s only going to get crazier as Christmas draws closer.
Nice haul of books there. While my blog was down I got a lot of reading done. Now I need to work on those reviews. LOL

I have Rival and The Darkest Minds, but I haven’t read them yet. Return of the Bad Girl and Crimson Bound both sound so good. Enjoy them!

  5. I’m right with you on the whole bittersweet thing! How awesome about the award your son got! I want The Restorer! Must go to Amazon immediately. The Kindle is definitely a lifesaver. I remember getting panicky in the past because I knew I was about to finish a book and didn’t have another one with me. With the Kindle that’s never a problem! Have a great week!
