Vanessa Campbell is a CPA by day and a perfectionist by night. She's fit, successful...and decidedly lonely. She can't stop thinking about the youngest McCauley brother, Cameron. He's just like her: smart, attractive, and usually right-except when dealing with her.

Cameron McCauley likes Vanessa a little too well. She's a blond goddess with a razor-sharp tongue. She hates to be wrong, just like him. But she can hold a grudge and is stubborn to a fault-also like him.

A past misunderstanding has them rubbing each other the wrong way. Cam is dying to shake Vanessa up-get her to let loose. But if he succeeds, can his heart handle it?

Ahh, Ruining Mr. Perfect is another fun and sexy installment in The McCauley Brothers series.

It has been about a year since the ladies moved next door to Mike. Maddie and Abby have found love with Flynn and Brody, and now it’s time for Cameron to finally make his move on Vanessa.

I knew Vanessa would be my favorite of the three women when we met her in the first book. She has the type of blunt, assertive personality I love, and she talks the most smack to everyone. Plus, she’s a CPA – hot! No, I’m not joking. I think I’ll love Del more when I read her book, but Vanessa is definitely my favorite out of the original three.

Cam’s brothers always harp on him and give him a hard time, which I get a kick out of. So it was interesting getting his perspective. I do like Cam, I really do, but I agree with his family about him being overly sensitive. The way he reacted to certain situations was a bit melodramatic and made me want to smack him. View Spoiler » Despite a couple of annoyances, Cam is a good guy. His brothers might want to be careful about mocking him too much in front of Vanessa, though, because she’ll probably put them in their place real quick.

The romance was nicely done. Even though Cam irritated me at times, I loved these two together. And yes, it gets pretty damn hot. I had a feeling it was going to go in the direction it did (no, I won’t tell), and I’m really happy about it.

Of course, the entire gang is very much involved in this book. There is a storyline that involves the McCauley parents, and I liked how it overlapped with Vanessa and Cam. I love how much family and friends are integrated into each book.

So yes, I quite enjoyed Ruining Mr. Perfect. The entire series is a lot of fun, and I am especially looking forward to the next book, What to Do with a Bad Boy.

  1. Cam sounds like he has some growing up to do still, but I’m glad his immaturity at times didn’t ruin the book for you overall. I love the sound of Vanessa, I tend to be pretty blunt at times as well so I think she and I will get along just fine:) Thanks for the recommendation Christy!

  2. I’m excited to start this series. I have the first book and I still need to read it.
Cam sounds like a whiny boy with some issues, so I’m not sure how I would feel about that. Vanessa sounds great though. She seems like a fierce girl I would enjoy reading about. It’s funny how the guy is the one you had issues with because most of the time, it’s the opposite for me.
    Great review, Christy!

  3. I still haven’t read any of the books in this series but they seem like such great reads! I have a feeling that I’ll really connect with Vanessa. Her attitude is definitely a lot like mine LOL.
