Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up
Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.
Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.
What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.
As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?
Do you believe in love at first sight? You should! I can tell you right now that it’s real, because I’ve recently experienced it. With Boomerang! That’s right, I was in love the moment I saw the cover months ago during a cover reveal. I knew we were meant to be. I didn’t even have to fully read the synopsis. Then I went to add it to my tbr and noticed that Noelle August is a pen name for Veronica Rossi! Whaaaat? I knew she could write some amazing characters, so that only raised my expectations. Yes, those expectations were met! I even devoured this book in one sitting.
Boomerang was so good, you guys! It all begins with Mia waking up in Ethan’s bed. A stranger. Naked. Unfortunately, neither one of them remember what happened the previous night. To make things even more awkward, they discover they will be working together only after they arrive at the same destination. Trust me, it’s funny!
Not only do they have to work in the same office, they’re pitted against each other. And while the attraction between them grows, their boss has a strict no dating policy between employees. It definitely makes for some ups and downs, but it’s certainly an entertaining ride.
I love Mia and Ethan! I wish there were more female characters like her. She’s smart, quick-witted, and has an all-around cool personality. You know how in books when a guy flirts or says something to a female character, and the female character gets all flushed and loses her thoughts? That crap annoys me more often than not. But Mia? No, this girl rolls with it and gives it right back, making use of her great sense of humor. The chemistry between the two of them was wonderful! I love a couple who can be playful and play off of each other so well.
Boomerang is also full of great secondary characters. I absolutely adored Mia’s relationship with Nana, her grandmother. It was so incredibly sweet and beautiful, yet heartbreaking. And the friends – haha! I got such a kick out of Beth and Skyler, Mia’s best friends. These girls are so funny and inappropriate in the way only best friends can be. I also loved Ethan’s friends – Jason and Skyler so much! So yeah, the friendships were a lot of fun.
There is a plethora of things to love about Boomerang! I could honestly make a long list of everything I loved, including the questions at the beginning of each chapter. And the way they remembered bits and pieces of their night together throughout the book. The dates. The coworkers. The humor. The … well, you get the idea. So much goodness!
Seriously, Boomerang was a fabulously fun book! A perfect summer read that will leave you with a smile. I can’t wait for the next book in the trilogy, which will focus on a different couple!
Psst … *whispers* It’s only $2.99
This sounds delightful. I love the trope and yep the cover made me smile.
You need this one in your life, Kim. 😉
I have to admit, you are convincing me. sounds so fun. Love the whole waking up next to a stranger concept.
It so dang fun, Jennifer! The book, not waking up next to a stranger. Unless they’re hot. 😉
Okay I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of this cover *hides* and I didn’t know that this book was under Veronica Rossi’s new pen name but after reading the synopsis I WANT THIS BOOK NOW! It seems so good and like the perfect summer read and after reading your review I know I’m going to LOVE it!
Haha – it’s okay, Lily. But you DEFINITELY need to read this.

“I love a couple who can be playful and play off of each other so well.”
YES CHRISTY!!!! That’s exactly what I loved about this two as well. I just finished Boomerang a couple days ago and of course adored it, and I need the next companion book in my hands immediately. I just loved that the relationship angst was low and the humor and genuineness was at an all time high. SO GOOD:)
I figured you’d love this book. Mia and Ethan for the win! 😀
LOL. Yeah, I know it’s only $2.99. Know how I know? I one-clicked it. YEP. This one is already at the top of my palate cleanser list. I’ve got a LOT of fantasy/UF on my TBR, but sometimes . . . sometimes you just need a break. This is going to be a break some time SOON. I’m glad you loved it, Christy! I hope I will too 😉
It is for sure an excellent palate cleaner! I hope your break is soon so you can experience it’s awesomeness!
Yay! I adored this one. It was hard not to and I am so glad that you loved it Christy, not that I doubted you would. I am so glad I already read this because if not I would have another book to add to my TBR pile. 😉
Lol – or the other way around. It’s a good thing I already had it when you reviewed it. 😀

Aw, how SWEET! I only fall in love with inanimate objects. 😀
I’ve been meaning to read Rossi for so long and now I can! Totally 1-clicking this! I’ve been reading way too many disturbing books lately and I need something light and fun to remind me that the world is not such a dark, dreary and twisted place LOL. And your review now got me all excited because Mia and Ethan sounds like awesome characters! And their meet cute is pretty darn epic too 😉 Lovely review, Christy!
