The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s official, school is out and now my son is a senior. This makes me incredibly sad. I want this year to eitherΒ go by super slow or just stop all together.
Apparently I’ve been drinking too many sodas, which for me is more than one a week. Now my kidney (singular) is paying for it. I seriously hate feeling sick when it’s 100+ degrees outside. I love being outside all day in the heat, but when I feel like this, I try to stay inside where it’s cool. Sucks.
While my son will be at a Zombie Mud Run (#Jealous), I will stay home and rest while watching the X Games and the Belmont Stakes!
1. I want Ken Block to win the rally car races.
2. I want California Chrome to win so bad, but I know the odds are against him in this race.

What I’m Listening To
Have you watched this? I’ve watched Peter’s Epic Rap Battles since the beginning, but some are definitely better than others. This Stephen King vs. Edgar Allan Poe battle is pretty funny. π
Have a great week!
I’ve never seen the epic rap battles of history before…but that was fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
They have some really good ones.
Lol my boyfriend drinks coke zero like water everyday, it’s actually quite worrying actually because I don’t know what the effects will be. Wow you won an awesome pack of books Christy!
I think it’s safe to say that the effects won’t be good. lol.
I love epic rap battles of history. This one was pretty good but Dr Seuss vs Shakespeare is still my absolute favourite.
lol – Yes, that is a good one too. π
A Barricade in Hell should be a really good read, considering the first book, Christy, hope you enjoy it! Also get better very soon, my dear, and stay away from all those soda drinks. hugs x
Thanks π I still haven’t read the first book, but plan to do so soon.
Ha that vid is hilarious! Why have I never heard of them before!! Have a great week!
They have some really clever ones.
Happy 3rd bloggy birthday! My blog turned 3 a few weeks ago too. Eeh, how time flies when you’re blogging your heart out, right?! XD The Killing Woods was good, very mind-whirling, though. I hope you like it. π My Sunday Post!
Yay, lots of us are turning 3. I keep hearing about The Killing Woods, so I think I’ll pick it up soon.
I totally know how it feels to be sick when it’s so hot outside. I feel like I’m in a microwave. Congrats on your 3rd blog birthday! π I wish you many more. You’ve got some amazing books and I really hope you’ll enjoy The Killing Woods! Great post π
It sucks, that’s for sure. Thanks, Tanja!
Ha, the video clip was so funny, I had to share it on FB ! I’m sorry you have to stay inside instead of enjoying the sun and warmth… Hope you’ll be better soon, have a great reading week !
Thanks! Haha – glad you enjoyed it.
If I could only drink one diet mtn. dew per week, I might die. And feeling sick in the heat is miserable. I hope you feel better soon! And my youngest sister is starting high school next year, which isn’t exactly the same, but I still (sort of) feel your pain π
lol – I don’t mind not drink sodas or drinking them sparingly, it’s just that the Cherry Cokes my brother brought over were so damn good. π
Congrats on your blogoversary and the books won! Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks, Michelle. π
Congrats on your win. I see lots of things in your book haul this week. They all look fabulous.
Grace
Thanks, Grace. π
I can’t wait to read the Delia book! I’ll surely have it soon. I hope you’ll like them all. Happy reading!
Thanks, Melliane. I still need to read the first book.
I’m still in the library queue for Sixth Grave. Gah! Excellent book haul! My daughter has one week of school left, but I have no doubts she will be a Senior next year. I will also have a Sophomore and my youngest is leaving Middle School and will be a Freshman. Wah! Of course, my oldest is nearly 29 now, but it’s been awhile since we had a graduate in the house. Time flies and it’s not fair! Have a wonderful week!
Dang library, they need to get more copies! -sigh- I know, time needs to slow down. I only have one child, so I’m trying to get use to it and absorb it now so it won’t be so shocking next year. π
I’m so sorry you aren’t feeling well. I hope you get better soon!
That Molly Harper book looks so good.
Have a great week!
Thanks, Yvonne. This will be my first Harper book, so I hope it’s good.
Sorry you aren’t feeling well. Take care of yourself!! I know what you mean about your son getting older, I feel the same way about my girls, they are getting way too big way too fast. π
Okay, seriously love that rap! How have I missed seeing these before? Now I need to google them all!
Tanks. Yeah, they grow too dang fast.
lol – just go to their youtube channel.
I love that title of Better Homes and Hauntings! I’ve been wanting to read her. You got great books this week! And I’m sorry you’ve been sick. π
Same here, I haven’t read anything by her yet, so hopefully this is good. And thanks π
How to handle a heartbreaker and better homes and hauntings both look great.
Also, how did you get that neat little pin it button to appear on the top of the book covers??I love it.
Happy Reading!
My Weekly Wrap up Post
Michelle @ Book Briefs
I have high hopes for both.
I honestly don’t know how they started showing up. lol.
Oh, you got Better Homes and Hauntings! I’m not jealous, nope, not one bit. Okay, that’s a lie. π I can’t wait for your review.
You must have been disappointed in the outcome of the Belmont; I was. π I hope the weather cools off for you and congrats to your son on being a senior!
lol – It’s be my first book by Harper, so it better be damn good. π
Yeah, it was disappointing, everyone around here was hoping the local boy would win the Triple Crown. But I knew he probably wouldn’t.
Aws hope you’re feeling better soon Christy! That sucks to feel like that. And yeah even worse in the summer heat.
Hadn’t seen the new Harper! Oooos pretteh!
Thanks, Anna. I hate feeling like crap, period. As if anyone enjoys it. lol
I hoe it’s good since it the first book by her I’ll read.
I hope you get to feeling better soon. I don’t really like sodas, and they make my kidneys hurt, but I can’t imagine how you must feel.
I’m really excited to start How to Handle a Heartbreaker. I’m thinking Flynn and Abbi’s story will be so good.
I hope you enjoy your books, Christi!
Thanks, Andrea. Yeah, you’d think I’d stay away from them permanently since they’re pretty much the cause of death for my left kidney.
The rap battle is hilarious! I’ve never seen it before. My daughter’s a senior now to so I completely understand. I’m staying focused on how I’m going to redecorate her room once she finishes college and has her own place. I’ve decided to turn it into a reading room and thinking about that cheers me up considerably! Better Homes and Hauntings looks fun and I look forward to your review. Hope you’re feeling better and have a great week!
I wanna do a zombie mud run, too! I’m actually doing “normal” mud run soon, but things with zombies are always way more fun!
I’m glad you ended up liking The Troublemaker Next Door despite some issues, I’m such a sucker for neigbour romances haha. Hope you have an awesome week!
I want Barricade In Hell!!!
Ooh I’d love Molly Harper’s new one. I’m hoping to get pretty caught up on her books this summer though, if I can. haha
I hope you feel better soon! Georgia has a zombie run too and I’ve wanted to do it, but I figure I’d be more annoyed by the zombies than motivated. π I hope you have a good week!
I’ve always wanted to do one of those zombie runs! Mind you I’m so unfit that the zombies would catch me on the start line…Enjoy your books!
