Third Blogoversay – Giveaway!

Posted June 1, 2014 | 129 Comments

That’s right, it’s my 3rd Blogoversary! No one is more surprised than I am. I didn’t celebrate the last two, but I figured I do a little something this year. So ….

I honestly can’t believe I’ve stuck with blogging for this long. I’m not going to get into this big ol’ thing about what brought me to this point, but there have been a lot of ups and downs. And amazingly, I have avoided any blogging/bookish drama and controversy. Go me!

I have met some pretty great people over the past three years though. People who have the same love for reading as I do. I can’t even tell you how it felt to discover all of the wonderful book blogs and the people behind them.

my ppl

It’s funny, because most people claim to be more outgoing online, but I’m the opposite. I was pretty reserved in the beginning and still mostly am. It’s hard to tell whether or not people will get my offbeat sense of humor or my sarcastic ways. But then I found all of you who I consider friends and who seem to tolerate me fairly well. 😀 So I raise a glass to you all – I heart you! There are a few of you who definitely deserve an extra drink for putting up with my s–t and not taking me too seriously. 😉

So, now onto the giveaway, right? Admit it, that’s why most of you are here. 😉

The giveaway is open internationally. You can win a $35 gift card from Amazon or Barnes & Noble or books from The Book Depository of the same value. Just use the giveaway widget below to enter.

I will also have random giveaways on my Facebook page during the next two weeks, so watch for them.

  13. Happy 3rd Blogoversary! Damn, that’s a long time. Keep having fun! 🙂 Hmm, only one book recommendation? That should be hard but nope, easy. Heart-Shaped Bruise by Tanya Byrne, the first book to ever rip my heart out and stab it. (This was before I read The Fault in Our Stars)

Happy Blogoversary!!!! here’s wishing you many, many more 🙂 Thanks for the awesome giveaway! Umm… this is an oldie but it’s so emotional and thought provoking. I’d recommend Five Smooth Stones by Ann Fairbairn and I think it was written in the 60’s but it’s set in the 50’s. It’s about a biracial couple that falls in love during the Civil Rights movement. I recommend this book to everyone!

  15. HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY CHRISTY!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! I love that “I’ve found my people” gif – I feel the exact same way:) Thanks so much for this amazing giveaway too! 18. Carl

Have you read The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath? Some people say it’s depressing but I didn’t think so. It’s pretty short and flows along well so it’s not a slog by any means.

  19. Liz

Wow!!! 3 years!! That is so awesome! 🙂 Happy Blogoversary!!

If I could recommend one book…. hmm, let me look and see if you’ve read it, then I will tell you. Ok, you haven’t. This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers. So damn good! Oh wait, snap!! I got two more. 100 Days in Deadland and Deadland’s Harvest by Rachel Aukes. Fantastic books 🙂

    • Well, crap!!! I commented before I entered your contest! OOPS! I have no idea what book I would recommend to you b/c we read the same stuff and generally you’re pretty cranky about stuff 😀 BUT… are you up to date on Atticus??? I got this t-shirt and I LOVE it

Pfft … I am not cranky. No, I still need to read the 5th and 6th book. I’m neglecting my book boyfriend. Haha – yeah, you showed me that shirt on FB.

  27. You are so amazingly awesome! 😀 Ooohhh you used that fancy giveaway tools! Did you like it better than rafflecopter?!?! I’m so weird with change but I’ve been thinking of trying it. I’ve only seen it used on Freebie Friday. Happy Blogoversary!!! Time does fly! I can’t believe I’ve had my blog almost 3 years either. It feels like yesterday. So hard to choose ONE BOOK! I might say Every Day or the Addicted series but you have read those. Hmmm I love the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella for laughs and fun and the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead for paranormal and hotness!

lol – I know, I know. Yes, the giveaway tool is so much easier and makes it way harder for people to cheat. I was hesitant to try it too, but I’m glad I switched. You should definitely try it next time you have a giveaway. I’ll have to go for the Rachel Mead series since I haven’t read anything by her yet.

  28. Samantha Wallace

I would recommend Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter but I have many more that I would love for people to read. Thanks for the giveaway!! 🙂

  29. Congrats on completing three years of blogging. Its no easy task! And yes your definitely awesome! I love the new giveaway tool! Its easier than Rafflecopter.
