There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself – and of me.
But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice, the most important of my life. Drew already made his –in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville. Alone. Well, sort of alone....
What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard and sometimes you have to go back to where you began, before you can move ahead.
Ah, Drew and Kate, they became one of my favorite fictional couples after I read Tangled. I adore them! So when I read the blurb for Twisted, I got major anxiety because I was afraid of what they were going to go through, because I didn’t want to witness their possible demise. My heart couldn’t take it. I finally put my big girl panties on though, and dove in. I admit, it wasn’t as good as Tangled, but I did love it.
Twisted is told from Kate’s POV. Now, I absolutely loved that Tangled was told from Drew’s perspective, because c’mon, it’s Drew. I also loved Kate, so I was excited to be in her head this time around. Besides, our buddy Drew wouldn’t leave us completely hanging; we do get more from him in this too. *wink*
I loved getting to know Kate better, I definitely connected with her even more in Twisted. It was so much fun seeing this side of Kate and where she came from. She’s a cool chick, for sure. We also get to experience Dee Dee and Billy through her eyes, and experience how deep their friendships are. Loved that!
This was a rollercoaster of emotions, taking us on the highest of highs and low as hell. But damn, did it ever start out hot! While there was plenty of humor in Twisted, it had a more serious feel to it than Tangled did. I’m not much of a fan of the whole miscommunication thing when it comes to drama in relationships, and that’s what this all came down to. However, I’m giving it a pass because I did enjoy it so much.
I’m glad I didn’t resist reading Twisted any longer, because despite my fears, it ended on the best frigging note. Now I’m looking forward to Tamed, which is Dee and Matthew’s story.
Tangled
Ya for big girl panties. I love Drew and cannot wait for DeeDee’s story..woot
lol – And the ending was so worth it.
I really need to read Tangled and this one. This sounds super steamy, while being emotionally manipulative at the same time… (and I mean that in a positive way). I like it when stories spiral my emotions out of control! 😀 Great review!
Thanks Faye, you should read it! 🙂
Oh yes I remember your great review about Tangled and you really made me curious about it so I’m glad this one is also really good. Isn’t it wonderful when sequels are up to the others? Thanks for the review Christy!
This is a great series. 🙂
So glad you took the plunge and read this even though you were nervous about starting it. Glad it was a good read even if it wasn’t quite as good as the first. I still need to add this series to my TBR pile!
Yes. Yes, you do!
I do hate miscommunication issues but if you were able to look past then I suppose I could as well.
It was sort of a ridiculous one, but I love the characters too much to care. lol.
I like the emotional roller coaster ones, and this sounds like a freaking fantastic one too. Great review!
It was certainly a roller coaster. 🙂
I loved Tangled and still need to read Twisted. I like Kate, too. So glad to hear you enjoyed, Christy!
Hopefully you like Kate even more in Twisted.
I still need to read Tangled-I’m impatiently waiting for my library to get their copies into circulation!
Dang library needs to hurry up.
I’m not a fan of the miscommunication thing either, and this drove me bananas. But, I love Drew and Kate and it ended so well. Great review, Christy!
Oh I absolutely LOVED how it ended! Can’t wait to read their next book.
That’s cool the point of view switched for this one, and that it worked well for you! Miscommunication in a romance can really drive me nuts in a book, but that’s great you liked the story anyway.
I know some people didn’t care for the switch, but I liked it.
Yea, the miscommunication thing is overused, but it still works. I’m glad you enjoyed this one even if it wasn’t quite to the level of the previous. This does sound like a great series.
It really is a great series. Drew and Kate are so much fun.
ugh! Why do we have to go down the miscommunication and drama path with a fun romance?
Yeah, it was kind of annoying, but it ended up all good.
Glad you enjoyed it too! A lot of drama comes out of miscommunication so I think it gives relationship-issues authenticity. It is kind of annoying to witness (both in books and IRL, lol), but as long as you love the characters and it’s still a fun read, why not, right? Lol.
Yeey for future stories too!
True, but it was a little ridiculous it this one. I’m just glad the great characters and awesome ending made up for it.
I’m glad to hear it ends on a great note! I’m not a big fan of miscommunication used a device in romance, but I’m glad this story worked overall. I need to read these! 🙂 Great review!
It really is a great series, especially the first book.
I still need to read Tangled but it seems like everyone loves this series. So happy this one turned out great.
Ummm thanks for those covers for some eye candy hehe. It’s the best when a series ends on a high note isn’t it? I’m glad you enjoyed this one Christy!
I’m so scared to read this one because I’ve read some pissed off reviews that Tangled got ruined for them because they read this book! But I do trust your judgement Christy so I will read this. I mean, relationships hit rough patches and it’s only realistic that Drew and Kate would too, right? And I’m very interested with Kate and Billy’s relationship cause I never really thought of him as a bad guy in Tangled. Hmmm…maybe I’ll get this on audio. Great review 🙂
Ack. Worrisome, isn’t it? When you have an intuition that your favourite couple may be on the road to bumpy town? I haven’t read these yet, but then again, that shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. It’s like I’m reading, and reading just not the right ones? Lol.
I’m a chicken because I hate the miscommunication drama and as much as I loved Tangled, I’m afraid to read Twisted ! 😉
Yay! I still need to read Tangled, but I am SO glad that this one ends well–worry like that makes me hesitate too. Good to know it’s unnecessary here 😉
I need to read Tangled first! Got the book quite some time ago but have yet to start reading it. Great review! I’ll get Twisted and prepare myself to start the series!
I already got this one on audio, I will be moving up my list right away. I’m excited that you liked it, now I’m really looking forward to listening.
Good job!
ah gosh I still haven’t read Tangled, but awesome to see Drews POV
Oooh… I want to read your review…. but I am reading this RIGHT NOW!! I will have to come back when I’m done!
