Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.
I friggin’ love Tangled! You know what I love about it? Everything! This is yet another book that I got so much more than I was expecting. This book was hilarious! I can confidently say that it will make a couple of my top ten lists this year: favorite couple, favorite male character, favorite read in general … yeah, this baby rocked!
Drew is a riot. He’s a hot shot investment banker who loves his job, it’s his number one priority. The story is told by him in narrative style, and I can’t even tell you how much I enjoyed that. It starts out with Drew isolating himself in his apartment because he has the “flu”, or that’s what he tells himself anyway. Truth is, Drew is feeling something he’s never experienced before – heartbreak. Then we are swept back four months so we can see just how Drew got in that predicament. I absolutely loved his take on everything, no matter how crude and blunt he got. In fact, that was one of my favorite things about him, especially since it was so damn funny.
The chemistry between Drew and Kate was off the charts. Oh, but there is no insta-love here. Well, Drew wants to insta-f—k, but things don’t go quite the way he wanted. They wind up becoming office “enemies”, and it is extremely entertaining. The relationship is something that happens over time, taking us on their rollercoaster of love. Was that corny? I can’t help it, that’s what it felt like. In the best way possible!
Secondary characters were an absolute blast. Delores … gosh I love that woman. She is one scary lady who will put a dude’s balls in a vice grip without a second thought, and boy is it funny. Alexandra, Drew’s sister, is another force to be reckoned with. The women in this book certainly are no push-overs; even Drew’s 4-year-old niece, who has him wrapped around her little finger. I love the wisdom he bestows on her. I got a huge kick out of all the guys too.
I am so glad I gave Tangled a chance, because I would’ve missed out on one fantastic read. Seriously, do not pass up this book! Once you do read it (you better!), make sure to read the novella that follows this book.
You know on TV when there’s one of those awkward, shocking moments and all you hear are the crickets in the background?
Well chirp fucking chirp…this is one of those moments.

It makes me want to kiss her and strangle her at the same time. I’ve never been into S&M. But I’m beginning to see its benefits.

Good guys are boring. You need a little bad to keep things fun. And nice guys? Nice guys have something to hide.
Jeffrey Dahmer’s neighbors thought he was a nice guy. Until they found those heads in his freezer

God, she’s beautiful. I mean, look at her. She’s like a volcano going off—fierce and fiery and breathtaking. If she doesn’t find a way to ugly herself down, I’m going to be spending an awful lot of time pissing her off. Which might not be such a bad thing in the end. Angry sex is awesome.
aaand this is why it made my top ten list. Just reading those quotes again..Gads! Wonderful review Christy!!
I probably have more highlighted parts than not.
Ohmygah — those quotes! Sigh. Tangled and Twisted have been on my wishlist, but my self-imposed $5 Kindle limit is why I haven’t gotten to them. *head desk* So glad you enjoyed this one!
The three extra dollars is so worth it! Damn, I just checked to see if I could lend it to you, but it’s not enabled. Boooo!
Aww, love that you tried! I’ll keep stalking it — or break my new rule in a moment of weakness. Most likely, the latter. lol
Bwahah chirp fucking chirp. I LOVE that. I have this one on the tablet but with a different cover I think. Hm. Gah I need to find some time. Sounds amazing!
Yeah, I think there’s a different color version from when it was indie published or something. I’m not sure.
I love it. I won’t pass on this book. The characters sound amazing. Those quotes, wow.
No, Jennifer, you can’t pass this up. Read it soon!
You know what? I need a palate-cleanser read today while I’m waiting for Dreams of Gods & Monsters to come out tomorrow, and I think this is going to be it. I’ve had this book forever, and your review was fabulous!
You should! It was so much fun!
I keep hearing how awesome this book is, really need to get to it soon 🙂
Yes, you most certainly do! 🙂
It’s rare that I read a review where the blogger liked EVERYTHING about the book, so that’s pretty much all of the incentive I need to give this one a try. ooh, and thanks for the heads up about the novella!
I honestly can’t say one bad thing about this book. Well, maybe the cover … I;’m not much a fan of. lol. I think it’s more of a deterrent for certain people who would love the story.
Would you stop it already? How am I going to keep up with all these fabulous reads you keep pushing on me?
I hate you. And I love you. 😉
I can’t help it! Blame it on the authors. 😀
I actually own this one! A friend told me to at least buy it or she’d disown me. But, I keep hearing how funny it is, and I’ve read a few quotes and it does sound freaking hilarious. Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
I approve of your friend’s methods. lol. You need to read it for sure!
This sounds like a winner of a book Christy! I love a story that can make me laugh, and I have to admit, I’m already a little in love with Drew just after reading your review. Thanks for putting this one on my radar, can’t wait to give it a try!
Oh, Jenny, this book was so much fun! You HAVE to read it.
Wow, that is a lot of top 10s Christy! That makes me so excited for this book. It is one that has flown under my radar but I am adding it to my TBR list right now.
Great Review 😉
It made Kimba’s 2013 Top Ten, so now you know you HAVE to read it! 😀
Wow, does this sounds good! Between you and Kimba I really need to pick this up and soon. Awesome review.
Yes you do! ASAP.
Alright! This is the push I needed to go ahead a listen, I heard mixed reviews, but I’m going to take a shot and hope I feel like you do 🙂
Great review!
Screw the mixed reviews, this book is a freaking riot – lol. I’m so curious about how it would sound.
I confess that I’m not that much into the cover so I think that without your review I wouldn’t even have looked at the book but what a mistake it would have been! Now I’m also really curious!
Yeah, the cover is pretty much the only thing about this book that I wish I could change. I got my guy friend to read it, but he gets the physical copy and reads the in public. He goes “this cover is going to make people think I’m gay.” lol.
WTF happened to Christy? She is reading all these contemp books. I am thinking I am at the wrong blog. I read Kimba’s review for the second book and I had to get this one so I could get a good laugh. No idea when I will get to it though. ARGH> Love the quotes.
And there is so much more to come! Prepare for the onslaught on LOVE. lol
Your enthusiasm for this book is infectious! I have books 1 &2, this series is asking me to binge read it!
You should! And don’t forget the novella after the 1st book. It’s pretty funny.
Yay! I’m so excited you loved Tangled. You know, everyone loves Drew, but I agree with you, the ladies rock! I can’t wait to see what you think of Holy Frigging Matrimony and Twisted.
Great review!
I already read HFM and laughed my butt off, but still need to read Twisted.
Not my kind of read honestly, as I’m not into this genre very much, but whoa! You make it sound so hot. Not sure the dude is my kind of guy but who can seriously say “no” to banters? Woohoo 🙂 Great review!
It is a very funny book. 🙂
I LOVE THE INSTAFK lol! That is hilarious, I haven’t heard of that term before! The secondary characters sound like a hoot! Lovely review Christy!
Oh geez. with an endorsement like that, how could I not read it too?
You’ll like it, Joy. It’s super funny!
Am I the only one who still hasn’t read this?*hides* Most of my friends on GR loved it. It definitely sounds like my type of read and I know I have to read it soon and I will. Great review Christy 🙂
Yes, you NEED to read it!
I’ve been dying for a sort of read like this. Lately i’ve been reading a lot of YA fantasy/dystopian titles and i just feel in the mood for a book that’s going to put my hea din the gutter LOL!
I’ll be adding this one to my kindle and reading it inbetween the sheets tonight! Great post! 🙂

Yes, I burned out on dystopians a couple months ago, and now I’m in a contemporary mood. Tangled is so much fun and hilarious!
Oh this sounds like a fun book! I’m so going to have to add this to the wishlist. Loved those quotes! LOL
It is so much fun, Melissa! You need to read it, for sure.
I loved this the first time I read this and loved it again when I heard it on audio. You should definitely good the audiobook version a try one day Christy! Drew’s outlook on life and words of wisdom just made me laugh out loud so much people thought I was crazy!
I didn’t hear too good things about the sequal though which is a disappointment so I’m still deciding if I should read it or not. Great review Christy, it reminded me of how much I love everything about this book too 😀
I don’t listen to many audiobooks, but I’d love to listen to this in audio. I loved the novella, but I a little afraid to read the 2nd book. I know it’s from Kate’s POV and a lot more drama. I’ll read it, but I’m bracing myself. lol.
Ooh this sounds amazing! I feel like I already have a crush on Drew just from reading your review. I like slow building romance, and throw in a bit of animosity in the beginning and it’s even hotter. But it’s nice to hear this is a funny story too. Amazing review!
Another fantastic review of Tangled! I’ve got this book on my kindle and I remember starting reading it, but I think I got distracted. Will have to pull myself together and read it at last! 🙂
Is this one that I need to read now too?? I actually picked up book two not realising it was a follow on. I love fun couples and I think I’d like to read about Drew 😉

YES! When I saw you were reading Wallbanger, I got excited and wanted you to read this soon. I love it more than Wallbanger. Oh yeah, you NEED to read the 1st book first.
Awesome Review Christy!!! Tangled is a favorite of mine too! I can’t wait for you to read the net book in the series, Twisted, as well. I laughed so much while reading this story, and Drew and Kate were hot together! I loved the secondary characters as well, and Delores is one of my favs! I can’t wait for you to continue this series! I’m really looking forward to Delores’ story! I know it’s going to be hilarious!!!
Ooo bah bah.. I been meaning to read this one. I did.. especially for the humor. Never had any time!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much
I’m glad you loved it, I had so much fun reading it ! I heard that book #2 is not so good, though…
I love the quotes! I initially wasn’t very interested in this one but I’ve seen nothing but fantastic reviews so I think I’m going to have to look into it.
I every time emailed this web site post page to all my
associates, for the reason that if like to read it afterward my friends will
too.
