The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
March is already here! Where the heck did February go? Good news: We finally got a major storm with rain. Not enough yet to kill the drought, but it was nice. We even had a tornado warning, which was a bit odd for this area of California.
So, I read 15 and a half (DNF’d one at 50%) books in February, which is a high for me. I expected the 14 I read in January, but not this many in Feb or the remaining months in the year. I guess blogging really did take up a lot of time. Since I’ve cut way back and not putting together so many posts, I have more time to read. This pleases me. π Plus, the Ultimate Book Blogger Plugin makes putting my post together much easier & quicker.
On the Blog
- Raw by Bella Aurora – Review. Went from a DNF to really liking it.
- Must Love Otters by Eliza Gordon – Review & giveaway. Love this book a lot! β₯
- Nil by Lynne Matson – Review. Fail!
- Take Control of your TBR Pile – My goals for the event.
Books Read
Definitely, Maybe in Love by Ophelia London
True by Erin McCarthy
Dash of Peril by Lori Foster
Breathe by Abbi Glines
Books Acquired
Misbehaving by Abbi Glines – For review. I didn’t realize this was the 6th book in a series when I requested it. Once I found out, I figured I’d have 5 months to read the 1st five of the series since it said this would be be released in August 2014. Then I noticed on Goodreads and Amazon that it’s already available. So … yeah, I don’t even know.
I … um .. purchased all of these. Don’t judge me! π I couldn’t resist some of the prices. Besides, I’ve been denting the hell out of my TBR books, so I deserve some new ones. That’s what I keep telling myself, anyway.
Events
In March Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer is hosting two events!
- The Take Control of Your TBR Pile is a month long event, where we read books that have been on our TBR, including review books we need to catch up on.
- The Ides of March Read-a-Thon will be from the 13th – 17th. Go sign up!

Have a great week!
I didn’t know about the TBR pile challenge. I am going to join up with that. Nice that you are getting decent weather… well weather to help with drought. We finally got a lot of snow this year so water restrictions have been lifted. Really been nice.
I use the UBB plugin as well and think it’s the bees knees! Goodbye formatting hell!
I sometimes end up requesting a book later on in a series too and then ‘have’ to go buy the other books! It might read as a standalone though, lots of contemp though as they are more companion novels than follow ons.
And nice haul π Enjoy.
lol – word!
Yeah, this series is more companion novels style, but I still have to read them in order. I read the 1st book yesterday but wasn’t all that impressed. So, I don’t know.
Nice amount of books read for February, Christy! and what an amazing stormy sky! Have a lovely week and lots of good reading this month!
It was a nice storm, but I’m ready for the sun again.
I love the photos of those angry skies. When I was in Dallas in 1996 there were tornado warnings for 80 miles away and I was glued to the Weather Channel all night. Pretty scary when we don’t get that extreme weather for the most part in Scotland! Enjoy your books and thanks for visiting my blog.
lol – I wasn’t really expecting one to occur, but it was still a tiny bit thrilling to know it was a possibility.
Good job reading that many in February. It looks like you got a lot done. Good for you. You have a very nice haul this week.
Grace
Thanks, Grace.
AWESOME pics of the storm!!!! I especially love the last one! What kind of orchard is that?
You totally deserve all the new books! Look at how much you’ve read – you totally rock!
Although I have to ding you on the review book – 6 books in? Ouch… I’ve done that before but jeez, 6 books in. Yeah, you know you want to change your rule about not reading out of order, you so know you want to *evil cackle*
They’re probably peach or nectarine.
That’s how I’ll continue justifying my book buying. π
Yeah, I don’t even know if I’ll continue, though. I read the first book yesterday and wasn’t exactly thrilled with it. No way will that rule change.
15 books is still pretty high π I have no clue how many I read, have not counted it…
…
Okay I just did. You have me beat π
You do deserve some new ones! I picked up some books I wanted to read from the library in hopes to put a dent in my TBR pile as well, wish I could do the challenge but I won’t have the time π
Aw, well hop you get the library books read, at least.
Tose pictures are freaky! I have a few Entangled Brazen books on my kindle, their prices are off the chain at .99 for some books right now. I think I’ll check your other purchased books and no judgment! I buy too much books myself π
They were taken during the calm between storms.
I just need to delete my Amazon account so I can’t buy ANYTHING. lol.
Must Love Otters is just too cute, love the title and the synopsis, this will go on my TBR pile. Misbehaving – Oh dear, I have to say, I”m not the greatest fan of series books – ok if they are not too long, though some obviously hook you in. And if you discover yet another series where you just want to read all of themβ¦ oh dear TBR pile! Wow, I love the storm pictures.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!
My Sunday post is here
MLO is a great book!
Misbehaving is part of a companion series, but I’m a bit OCD when it comes to that stuff and still have to read in order.
The UBB plugin took me a little getting used to, but I love it too. I went on a little bit of a crazy buying spree last week. My husband just shakes his head at me, and tells me I need another bookshelf. Well, duh! lol… Enjoy the new books.
Jenea @ Books Live Forever’s Sunday Post
That’s why I love ebooks so much; I no longer get crap from my family. I know you all know how it is. π
Those pics are magnificent. Glad you didn’t get a tornado :0)
Have a great week.
Lauren @The Hottie Harem
Thanks, Lauren. π
A tornado warning? Eeep! I’m glad it turned out okay.
YAY for denting the TBR pile!!!! Way to go. New books are totally a worthy reward for denting the pile. π Enjoy!
Exactly. I deserve to be rewarded with new books. lol
I would never judge for book buying, I am pretty sure I am a book hoarder since I know there is no way I will ever be able to read them all.
The pictures you posted are gorgeous!
Lol – I know. We have issues. π
Definitely, Maybe in Love was so cute, I really liked Henry haha. Oooh, can’t wait to hear your thoughts about Dash of Peril!! I’ve been meaning to check out Abbi Glines, heard a lot of good things!
Have an awesome week!
Cyn @ Bookmunchies
It was! I really enjoyed it. And Dash of Peril was good too. π
Congrats on the books read! I forgot to see how many I read for February, but I know the number is way less than January. I really need the TBR Challenges but have no time for them. I’m going to plan for them next year though. Excellent book haul! π
Ah, it’s a month long, so even if you read one book from your TBR it’ll count.
Great haul. I don’t know any of those books. Will have to look into them. My STS: http://www.thecovercontessa.com/2014/03/staking-shelves-9.html
I hope they’re good. π
Those are some cool pictures Glad you finally got some rain. We are nearly caught up on our rain for the rain, all that doom and gloom and you just need a few good storms. Hopefully you didn’t wash away. Did you like Definitely, Maybe in Love? I thought it was cute. Have a great week!
Ha, we’ll need more than a few good storms to be able to last the farmers and ranchers through the summer. There’s been no snow in the mountains, so no runoff. Water has always been an issue here, but it’s a huge issue now, especially economically. I loved Definitely, Maybe in Love; it was a lot of fun.
As a photographer myself, I’m entranced by the storm photos. Thank you to your friend for sharing them.
Have a good week!
Thanks, Terri, you too.
Yay for getting some extra reading done and making a dent in the tbr pile! That’s awesome π And ooo what pretties! I have a couple of those on my shopping list π
Yes, well I blame you for some of those pretties. π
You had a great February! Hope you have a great March too!
I LOVE the cover for Blackbirds. I can’t even remember what it’s about, but I kind of want to own it now. π And 15 books is very impressive! I’m not sure that I even managed half of that this month. It’s been pretty chaotic for me, but I’m blogging less too this year, and it definitely does leave more time for reading. Hope you have a great March! π
Love the cover for Blackbirds. And sometimes prices are just too good to pass up…especially when it comes to buying books. No judgment here. π
That’s great you read so much!! I don’t read all that fast, and I have a lot of other things to do for school and whatnot, so I’m doing okay with reading.
Oh I hope you like Lifers! I heard you guys got some rain. Lots all at once. π That’s good though, I heard it was really bad. Though maybe it’s a bit much at once.
Have a lovely week!
Oh ugh, I hate when I get books out of order! I have to read all the books before it and then if I hate the first one I feel so crummy, lol. I hope the Abbi Glines series works out for you and I’m glad you guys finally got some rain!
Haha, I would never judge anyone for a book buying binge, because I’m guilty of it pretty much every week. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your reading/posting ratio more. I also have cut back posting so much and it’s been so much better for my tbr pile. π Glad to hear you got some rain!
Awesome haul! I can’t wait to read Lick!
Wow! You got a ton of awesome books last week! I have Dash of Peril for review too, and can’t wait to read it! I love the True and Breathe Series’. Happy Reading this week!
