The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Well the weather went back to warm and sunny. Today it’s 75ΒΊ, which is not normal. I love it, though. But then I feel a bit guilty for being happy with it because the drought here is really bad. Farmers aren’t even able to put their crops in the ground. So you all get prepared for your food prices to go up, because California is the Nation’s #1 supplier of agriculture. Speaking of agriculture, the World Ag Expo was this week and it was a lot of fun. Yes, I said fun. lol. Huge machinery is sexy π Am I letting my Redneckness show?
I participated in the Wicked Valentine’s Read-a-Thon and busted out 6 books this week. Believe me, that pretty much never happens. I usually only read about 2 books a week, so I kind of went on a reading rampage. π Now I have a bunch of reviews to write.
On the Blog
- Getting Rowdy by Lori Foster – Review. Best of the series, so far!
- Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones – Review. Loving this series!
- Evertrue by Brodi Ashton – Review. I’m going to miss this series.

The Boys of Summer by C.J. Duggan is one of my favorite books from one of my favorite series and it’s FREE right now!
It’s a wonderful book set in Australia. It may seem YA, but it’s not really. The super sexy Onlsow boys are about 19-20 years old, and then the next book jumps 4 years. Love them!
Coming Up
In March Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer is hosting two events!
- The Take Control of Your TBR Pile is a month long event, where we read books that have been on our TBR, including review books we need to catch up on.
- The Ides of March Read-a-Thon will be from the 13th – 17th. Go sign up!

Hope you all have a great week!
You are rocking out the books. I think I read 5 1/2 books this week and low for me during a read-a-thon but I have read 10 1/2 total since the 6th. Her Mad Hatter is a fun read and yes I picked up the Boys of Summer just because I know you love it.
You still have a little time left for the #WWReadathon to get some more reading in. π
6 books is awesome!
Yikes on the drought though, hope you get some rain your way to help out those farmers!!
Gah, I was going to say something else and now I don’t remember what. π
Have a fun rest of the weekend!
lol – I forget what I was going to say all the time. π
Oooh you got Split Second! I’ve been seeing that around a lot this week which makes me really want to read the 1st book. I love books about alternate realities! Enjoy all of your reads.
I LOVED Pivot Point and Split Second. They’re not alternate reality … well, PP is in a way, but … it’s different. lol, I’m great at explaining, huh? You really should read them though.
Think I’ll grab The Boys of Summer, it’s a good chance to check out this series. Plus the Australian setting sounds fun. Thanks for linking it up π
The entire Summer series rocks!
Hey, big machinery is sexy! LOL Glad you are enjoying the weather, Christy! Lovely haul. What did you think of Raw? π
Ha, well … I actually ended up liking Raw. Not in an erotica way, I just read it for what it was … an effed up relationship.
*Groan* at prices going up and *drool* at sexy tractors. I grew up on a farm in OH, so yes, tractors are sexy. π Yay for reading rampages! Hope you have a great week!
She thinks my tractors sexy – Kenny Chesney. lol!
Ooooh! You read some great books last week. Kiss the Sky is in my top 5 for 2014 so far… and pretty high up on my all-time favorites list. I just finished an audiobook of Wallbanger the week before last. I can’t even tell you the last time I laughed so hard and so often during a book.
Also, LOVE the Onslow boys. It’s such a great series. I can’t wait for the upcoming novella.
Happy reading!
My Sunday Post.
I agree with everything you just said! Kiss the Sky was SO freaking good. LOVED it!
I need to read the Pivot Point series! Nice haul! Enjoy them! My STS: http://www.thecovercontessa.com/2014/02/staking-shelves-7.html
Yes, it’s a really good book.
Nice haul. I love when books go on sale at Amazon for less than $5.00 because their are some really good deals. Enjoy the new goodies.
Grace
I always check my Amazon wishlist, and get super excited when I catch those deals.
I’ve read her mad hatter last year, it was… original ! Have a nice sunday π
Haha – I’m curious.
Everything here is so frozen, and slushy. Ugh! We could use some warmer weather. π Enjoy the new books. Great job on the reading!!!
Jenea @ Books Live Forever’s Sunday Post
We need to swap weather just for a very short time.
wow 6, that’s a large number (for me it would!), well done you. I read 2 this week, but one was a short storyβ¦ I like the look of One Week. and thanks for the Coming up section, will have a look at the March ideas now. Have a great week.
My Sunday Post here
It’s a lot for me too. I usually only read 2-3, but I’m not complaining. lol.
i love the look and sound of boys of summer. it looks like my kind of read. happy reading π
hope you can stop by my StS Post.

It is such a good book/series.
Six books is excellent! Now, write those reviews. π
I’m glad you have warmer weather but the drought, yeah not good. I hope it ends soon but I guess there’s no predicting that.
Blah, the writing is my least favorite part. π
The Boys of Summer looks great, hope you enjoy it!
Already have – I loved it. It’s free, so you should grab it! π
The Boys of Summer is free? I need to get that! Great haul for this week. Happy reading!
Yes! Read it!
Yay, warm weather! I’m getting slightly warmer weather, but it also snowed, book. Ooh, I was thinking of checking that Darynda Jones series! I plan on reading Pivot Point soon, since Split Second is out. Great haul, hope you enjoy your books!
Congrats on reading six books this week Christy! That’s awesome π I loved Getting Rowdy, and just got Dash of Peril for review! I’m really excited to read it π I read The Great Gatsby in high school, and really enjoyed it! Wallbanger was hilarious, and I’m looking forward to continuing the series. Anywhere With You looks hood, and I want to read Pivot Point and Split Second so badly! Happy Reading this week π
Thanks! Yes, I have Dash’s book and can’t WAIT to dive in. My son (11th grade) is read The Great Gatsby now, and it’s easier to discuss his work when I’ve read it too. I don’t remember reading it in high school, so it was a first for me. Pivot Point and SS were very good!
Christy! You did awesome with books this week. I have been telling everyone that I can think of that the boys of summer is free. I LOVE that series!
I just snagged a copy of her mad hatter.
Its a good thing i’m participating in both of kimba’s march events bc my TBR pile hates me right now. I have been slowly been hitting away at it but march it going to be a great catch up time though.
Thanks so much about the compliment about the cookies! My sister has a cookie press and I have been dying to use it. Valentine’s day was just an excuse haha
Happy Reading Christy π

Way to go! My goal was to read 3 books but it never happened. I’ve just been so worn out from work lately that I haven’t felt like reading.
Wow, six books in one week is amazing! I’m lucky to get one book read a week usually, but I read a lot for school too. I’ve never done a read-a-thon but I want to at some point; even if it’s a personal one.
Way to go with the reading spree! I really need to sit down and do the same. I plan on joining in on Kimba’s events, so hopefully I can do some catching up then. It sucks that the farmers are having trouble right now, especially since the rest of the country is getting way too much water.
I hope you enjoy your books!
I am so excited for Split Second. The first book blew mw away.
