What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though–she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?

Its official, I’m addicted to this series. I kept seeing this book, and others in the series everywhere and heard good things about them. Months ago I bought Stealing Parker because it was on sale, but didn’t realize that it was actually the second book in the Hundred Oaks series until after I finished it. Luckily, each one can be read as standalone. So I immediately downloaded Catching Jordan and devoured it. Just from the small glimpses I got of Sam and Jordan in Stealing Parker, I knew I was going to love them.

Characters are extremely important to me. If there isn’t any that I like, then the book is pretty much dullsville for me. That is not a problem at all with this book. All I want to do is gush about how much the characters rock! I’m not talking about just one or two, but like ten of them. Even pervy Jake (haha). Granted, I love Jordan and Sam the most – Sam being my #1 favorite.

Jordan Woods kicks ass. She is the top high school quarterback in Tennessee and has her sights set on playing for her dream college. The girl eats, sleeps, and breathes football. What Jordan wants even more, though, is for her dad’s support. Everyone around her seems to get it, except her.

I absolutely adore Jordan! She’s tough, competitive, and has the respect of all her players. Jordan is far from being a girly-girl. In fact, she doesn’t have any girlfriends, all her close friends are guys. She doesn’t even date or get involved with boys because they’re distracting, but her life is thrown for a loop during the most important time of her high school career. She learns a lot about life, love, and herself. I loved going on this journey with her – through the good and the not so good.

Then there is Sam Henry. Yup, good ol’ Sam has earned a spot on my coveted ‘Favorite Male Characters’ list. Believe me, it’s a short list. The guy had me laughing throughout the book! I could seriously go on and on about all of the things that Sam did to worm his way onto my list. Let’s just say that Sam in general is a damn riot. As much as I love Jordan and Sam separately, I loved them even more together. I literally cannot help but to smile when I think about them. Their friendship is amazing …. wonderful … hilarious. Fun!

It’s funny, I was expecting something so sweet and innocent when I saw the book covers for this series, but this is much more realistic than I thought it was going to be. By realistic, I mean there’s drinking, sex, cursing, and all that fun stuff. I was pleasantly surprised.

I enjoyed Catching Jordan so much! It’s definitely a why-didn’t-I-read-this-sooner book. I’ve already skimmed through it again twice because I needed a laugh. If you haven’t read this yet, then get your butt in gear and read it so you can kick yourself for waiting so long.

  2. Oh my, wait until you read the next two! I just read the arc of Racing Savannah…. AMAZING,! Seriously, Miranda is one of the most amazing authors….

  3. So exciting! Since there was a sale, I preordered Racing Savannah because it sounded good and I worried that I wouldn’t like this companion novel series, but since you liked the first one so much and the characters immensely, I hope it will be the same for this coming one. (whew, loooong sentence.) I’m with you, I NEED to connect with characters.

  4. Yay I’m so glad you loved this one, Christy! Miranda has a real knack for writing characters that are easy to love. Jordan and Sam are just amazing. Great review! 🙂
