Sunday Post #53 (10/27/13)

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I’ve been tolerant of the temperature drop … chilly mornings and highs in mid-80s I can handle. But now it’s dropping to the 60s-70s. I’m not thrilled at all. I’m so dreading the coming months. I want to go with myΒ  grandparents to Arizona for the winter!

I’m bummed because my new computer was supposed to be here days ago, but there was a cargo train derailment – no injuries – that caused a delay. So UPS was holding it hostage. I hope it gets here soon, because I want to take a sledgehammer to my current one.

Halloween is on Thursday! Anyone doing anything fun? We like to go to Hobb’s Grove in Sanger, CA at sometime this week. It’s a good time!

  1. It’s going to be +20C today. I’ve no clue what it is in F? And I’m planning to cut my pumpkin and to put up a scarecrow on the field for the Halloween. Hope you enjoy all your reads, Christy! Catching Jordan was really good, wasn’t it?

My son is 16 and could care less about carving pumpkins. πŸ™ But he does share my love of scaring people. πŸ™‚

  2. I completely sympathise with your computer situation. Mine switched off for no reason last night and I spent hours trying to work out what went wrong. I gave up and this morning it started with no problems. I’m not quite at sledgehammer mode but give me time.

A girl quarterback & captain sounds interesting. Here’s my Sunday Post

I’ve wanted to read it for so long, but never got around to it when it came out. I’m sure it’ll be good. πŸ™‚

I couldn’t live where it gets too cold. A week up in the mountains is the extent of my cold weather tolerance.

  3. Your blood has thinned, my dear! Silly Californian! Put a damn sweater on! πŸ˜€ (I remember complaining about the chilly nights, too, when I lived in SD)

Are you going to read the second I Hunt Killers book? I’ve heard so many fantastic things about the first book and it’s on the list of books for reluctant readers so it’s a go to for me for boys who have no clue what to read (teens).

Have a great week girlie!! So glad you’re feeling better and sounding more relaxed!!!

Damn straight it has. I hate wearing a lot of clothes – tank tops are my preferred form of wear. lol.

Yeah, I’m definitely going to read GAME. I could see some parents having issues with it for younger teens though, because it does get pretty gritty and a bit explicit for YA. It’s one of those books I wouldn’t recommend to just any teen … at least the younger ones.

      Yup, feeling much better.

  4. Nothing more frustrating than a less than optimal computer! Ugh. I hope you’ll get your soon. My six-year-old is sadly, terrified of this holiday so he’s not so enthused. My 12-year-old is well, she’s at that pre-teen age so she thinks EVERYTHING is beyond her coolness. Lol.

I really loved The Distance Between Us, I hope you’ll like it. I’m interested to read your thoughts on I Am Malala.

Anyway, have a great week, Christy!

Oh, you need to read them soon. They are super quick reads, and I don’t consider myself a fast reader. Plus, they are addicting!
