The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Unfortunately, it’s starting to cool off here. Sure, high 80’s is nice, but I much prefer the 90’s. And allergy season is terrible this year! Usually my son has them bad during his first cross country race of the season, but we’re coming up on the 3rd now and he can’t breathe worth crap. The doctor has prescribed 2 different nasal sprays and told him to take Claritin D, none of which are working. Sucks.
October is coming up fast, so make sure you check out my right side bar for all of the kick ass events that are scheduled. There are reading challenges, hops, read-a-thons, lots of giveaways, and more! Most importantly though, it will be my birthday. š
On the blog
- The Kingdom by Amanda Stevens – Review. The wonderful 2nd book in the creeptasic Graveyard Queen series!
- Fire & Ash by Jonathan Maberry – Review. This final book in the Benny Imura series did not disappoint! And Rot & Ruin (book #1) is still only $1.99!
Books
Dark Duets by Christopher Golden – For review. Not gonna lie, I’m kind of excited to read all of these! There are a lot of authors teaming up in this.
What I’m listening to
I’ve Got Dreams to Remember by Otis Redding
It’s an Otis kinda day and this is one of my favorite songs.

How was your week?
I am an October baby too! I sure hope your son feels better, allergies suck. Dark Duets looks awesome.
I remember you’re a Libra too! I may suck at remembering names and stuff, but I’ll remember a birthday or at least their sign. It’s weird.
Great song!!
Hope your son feels better soon. There has been some crazy stuff in the air here as well that has been killer on my poor eyes.
Dark Duets looks very interesting!
Has your son tried Zyrtec? It’s available over the counter and it works great fro me. I hope he feels better soon!
No, we haven’t tried Zyrtec. I’ll look it up and compare the ingredients in a little bit. I think it’ partly because of the lingering smoke in the air though.
Claritin was useless for me while Zyrtec works great. I hope you something that works for him.
I just read your comment at my blog and laughed so hard I had a coughing fit and now my ribs hurt. š <3
I just love Amanda Stevens’ series. I was heartbroken when the fourth book was pushed to 2014, but she’s definitely worth the wait. She’s writing YA now too, who knows how that will turn out.
Happy reading, Christy!
i got an anthology too but not the one you have there. i don’t usually read anthologies because i prefer my stories novel length but i thought i’d give it a try. i hope you enjoy your book. happy reading š
hope you can stop by my sunday post.

Same here, but I got two anthologies recently just because Jonathan Maberry is both.
My week was awesome, Christy. I hope you’ll enjoy that creep-tastic anthology. Looking forward to your review. š
xoxo
My son has asthma, and they prescribe him Claritin for his allergies, and it doesn’t help him either. It’s frustrating as a parent when they feel bad. Enjoy your week. š
Dark Duets is new to me! I’m not alway keen on anthologies, but this sounds good. Lots of big names contributing there. And it’s your birthday soon? Woo hoo! š
Yeah, I usually avoid anthologies, but I got one recently because it has Jonathan Maberry in it, then I saw that he’s in this one too. So we’ll see. Haha yup, I was born on Oct 4th. I like saying 10/4, but I know that would be opposite for you. š
You prefer 90 degree weather?! I live in South Florida and hate the heat! And Otis Redding! Love it š
Geez, 80’s is cool to you?! I could never live down there! It doesn’t often get warmer than the 80’s here in the summer, thank GOODNESS!
I have an allergy doctor here who can pin point what the allergy is and then uses a laser to rid your body of it. Honestly, it’s pretty much like magic. Sometimes it takes a few visits, but each year I go in and get the allergies ‘eliminated’ and it’s much cheaper than the medication. My allergies are mild compared to your sons though. But I think it would be worth looking into. Next time I see her I’ll ask if she has a list of practitioners or at least how to look for one that does that technique. She’s actually a chiropractor, and the stuff she does for that is magic too. So yeah, I’ll see what I find out. I’m due to go in cause my headaches have been bad again.
Wow, Dark Duets has some great authors!
Hmm, I might have to ask his doc about that. He always gets them the beginning of October and in March. It’s been really bad because the Rim fire has cause smoke to get trapped down in the Valley, and then mixed with everything else … we should move. lol
Hope your son feels better! Dark Duets looks good and perfect for this time of year. Have a great week!
Oh my, we are down into the 70’s here. But I’m looking forward to fires in the fireplace. š That’s about the only thing I love with winters anymore. š
Have a great week!
I have a SP up this week too, if you’d like to stop by:

lol – I love the fireplace too, but still prefer a fire pit outside in the summer. š
It’s cooling off here too…I want it to stop at like low 80s so the humidity is gone and I can go outside with out melting, lol. I don’t’ like cold weather at all. Dark Duets looks really awesome.
It has dramatically cooled here. We went from 95 on the 11th to 60s and rain… At least I had two perfectly pleasant days at the beach. I can’t freaking believe it is almost October. I am so not ready for winter. I know what you mean about allergies mine have been horrible lately and I have had two colds in the last two and a half weeks! Sucks!
It’s warm but cooling down indeed. Have to take down the pool soon š I’m so sad for the end of summer. I was sick all last week and also have bad allergies right now. Hate allergies!
Aw, sorry about your allergies. I have them in the spring, and they’re horrible!
Happy reading — Jen @ YA Romantics
