The Wird sisters are content to avoid the local vampires, werebeasts, and witches of the Lake Tahoe region—until one of them blows up a vampire in self-defense. Everyone knows vampires aren't aggressive, and killing one is punishable by death. But soon more bloodlust-fueled attacks occur, and the community wonders if the vampires of Tahoe are plague-ridden.
Celia reluctantly agrees to help Misha, the handsome leader of an infected vampire family. But Aric, the head of the werewolf pack determined to destroy Misha's family to keep the area safe, warns Celia to stay out of the fight. Caught between two hot alphas, Celia must find a way to please everyone, save everyone, and—oh, yeah—not lose her heart to the wrong guy or die a miserable death. Because now that the evil behind the plague knows who Celia is, he's coming for her and her sisters.
This Wird girl has never had it so tough.
Yes! I found a new UF series to fall in love with. It’s weird, because I actually grabbed this off of Netgalley without even fully reading what it was about, but it obviously has werewolves or shifters by looking at the cover. Here’s the thing: I’m not big on werewolf and shift stories, so I usually pass them up. The book gods were definitely guiding me with this, because I don’t know what would possess me to immediately get Sealed with a Curse when I normally wouldn’t have.
Sealed with a Curse is much more than a were book. There are a lot of supernatural creatures, including vampires and witches. The book opens with Celia and her sisters on trial for murder in vampire court. They aren’t vampires, though. In fact, Celia and her sisters don’t exactly know what they are. They’ve stayed out of the supernatural community and under the radar until now.
The characters is this book are great. I loved the dynamic between the four sisters, and hell, between everyone! Seriously, Robson put together one hell of a group. There were other characters that added great moments too, but these are the main ones. Here, I’ll introduce you to them:
The Sisters: each have their own unique abilities.
- Celia – the oldest sister at 25. The story is told from her perspective, and her internal dialogue is a riot! She has a very powerful inner tigress and can shift into one. Unfortunately, she will also unwillingly shift into any animal that touches her, which makes for some hilarious moments. She’s not exactly skilled in the ways of men, but she has some super hotties after her now.
- Taran – the tough, sassy sister who uses magic in the form of fire and lightening. She is pretty damn funny, too, and has quite a colorful vocabulary. Taran, on the other hand, is very skilled in the ways of men.
- Shayna – the sunny and friendly sister, who will cut you will her special abilities before you even know what hit you.
- Emme – the shy, timid sister with some mean telekinetic and healing skills.
The Men: Oh-la-la
- Aric – the super smexy, powerful pure wolf who gets Celia panting whenever he’s near. He can shed in my bed anytime.
- Misha – mmmm… the ridiculously good looking Russian master vampire who wants to get Celia panting.
- Bren – I love this guy. He’s a lone wolf and one of Celia’s bff’s. His antics had me rolling, and I need to see more of him in the next book.
- Gem, Koda, Liam – the wolf pack. Three very large, scary guys who turn into a bunch of puppies around the sisters.
- Danny – yes, I’m including the socially awkward brainiac in the group of hunky men, because he’s so damn adorable. Even if he is only human.
Seriously, you have to meet them yourself, because I can’t believe how much I laughed while reading this. Plus, the setting is Lake Tahoe! I love when books are set in places I’m familiar with and add something ‘magical’ to it.
The story itself was really good too. Misha’s family of vampires are being infected with bloodlust, causing Tahoe to become a very deadly place. Celia and her sisters get pulled into the melee and kick some major ass. Not to brag or anything, but I immediately called the who, what, and how. Okay, okay… I’m totally bragging, but I still enjoyed the ride a lot.
Overall, Sealed with a Curse was funny as hell, exciting, and swoony! I can’t wait for the next book, A Curse Embraced.
Okay, I’m convinced! I love the way you describe the characters, and I can already picture myself grinning along to the dialogue. Why have I never come across this before?! Great review, Christy! 🙂
I told you you were going to love this book! Yay! Yay! I love when I am right.
This book seriously rocks!! I can’t wait for the next one. I definitely think it will become and favorite series for sure.
And Aric can shed in your bed anytime? LOL! You are too much but I completely agree. 😉
Oh heck. I’m sold, Christy. You couldn’t have written a more convincing review. Adding this to my pile!
You loved this book for the same exact reasons why I did. I’m seriously jonesing for the next one!!!! NOW!!!!!! I’m soooooo glad you liked it 🙂

Can I just say that I love that the series name is called weird girls. And I am finding that I like more and more seeing characters in their 20s. Plus lots of laughing…I can’t believe that I haven’t heard of this book before
Hope you had a great week and an even better weekend christy! 🙂
Great review Christy. I love the way you describe all the characters, and they sound awesome. I’m a fan of were/shifter books and enjoy them even more when they also include other supernaturals. I only discovered this book recently and never realised it was on netgalley 🙁
Wow that is a lengthy review from you, this must have been a good one. I am always on the hunt for a good UF series and I have been seeing some good reviews on this one so I should check it out! Thanks for the heads up on it! Have a wonderful weekend.
I love when a book catches me by surprise like that! Sealed With A Curse sounds great – especially the men 😉 I’ll be adding this one to the TBR!
I am looking forward to this one..its in my tbr pile..maybe in March?? great review!
I read another review for this recently and it sounds good! I’m not big on were books, so I’m happy to hear that you still loved the book!
A good recommendation from you will always put a book on my to-read list! I love the sound of this one, and I hadn’t heard of it before, so thanks for the recommendation, lady! 🙂
Great review, Christy. I am glad that you reviewed this one. I wouldn’t have guessed that it was so hysterical from the synopsis.
I haven’t seen this one before! It sounds really good, I’ll have to add this to my TBR, I have one separate from Goodreads so I can remember to look for them at the library or store, lol. Anyway, I love the sound of this one. Great review Christy!
Preemptive strike – TAKEN. I knew you were reading this and I already bought it, nyah, nyah. Nyah, nyah, nyah. Wait… O.o
I’m glad you loved it! It sounds like a lot of fun, I love UFs that don’t take themselves too seriously. And there’s a Misha!
Bwahaha! And yes, there is a Misha. Yes indeed, a mighty fine Misha.
Great review. I won this!!! I really to get reading this. 🙂

Lucky you! I hope you love it.
I actually love weres and shifters. I do need a new UF to get into. I don’t really read many. I usually stay more on the paranormal romance side than urban fantasy. Large cast of characters but neat that they all bring their own power and personality to the story.
I think you would love this one! It does have romance in it, but not real hot and heavy. That might be in future books though.
