Sunday Post #13 (11/18/12)

Posted November 17, 2012 | 16 Comments

The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Ugh.. and so it begins.  I am officially staying away from the malls and any other stores until January.  Sales aren’t worth the chaos.
Any of you brave it?

I also mentioned last Sunday that my son’s cross country team was going to sectionals on Thursday.  No, they didn’t move on to State, but they did get 5th out of 30+ teams, so I’m very proud of all of them!
Next up, track season.

I’m sorry, but I’m totally busting up right now!  My friend is currently texting me while in line for Breaking Dawn (Friday 10:30pm), and I’m trying to get her to flash the drunks up on the balcony of the bar across the street from the theater.

Okay, focus….

On zee blog:

  • Swell by Julie Rieman Duck – Excerpt & giveaway!
  • Sacrifice by Cayla Kluver – So sad to see the trilogy end 🙁  ♥

Covers linked to Goodreads & book titles link to Amazon

  • Hale Maree by Misty Provencher – I got this because I’m reviewing it for the blog tour on 11/28.  I already read it and totally loved it!  Seriously, download it.  Like, right now.
  • River Road by Suzanne Johnson – Tor sent me a beautiful finished copy, which just showed up today.  I loved Royal Street (book #1), so I can’t wait to get into this one!

What’s going on:

This is the 1st book in the Heven and Hell series. I’m currently reading the 2nd book, Charade, for a read-along this month.  Just click on the image to download the book.  You should jump on it before the price goes back up!

Heidi @ Rainy Day Ramblings is celebrating her 1st blogoversary, so go give her some love and enter the giveaway!

So how was your week?

  1. Congrats to your son’s team on 5th place, that’s pretty awesome for 30 team meet.
I’ll have to brave the madness eventually because I have no shopping done, of course…Since I have to depend on a ride, I’ll have no choice but to go when I can. I really hate stores during the Holidays, people become so rude.
River Road looks really good but I haven’t read the first one yet, I may have to bump them up some on the tbr.

  2. That’s awesome for your son’s team! Just making it to the 30 is great, then to wind up 5th is a great accomplishment. You proud mama, you. 🙂 No way am I setting foot in any kind of mall until spring, then I’m out again until fall and the kids go back to school.

I can’t wait to get my mitts on River Road – I loved the first one too. Tor loves you better. *sniff*

(hope your friend doesn’t give the guys a show, at least not unless they have something better than beads)

  3. Congrats to your son!! That is so awesome!! 5th is pretty darn great!

I can’t believe you’re encouraging inappropriate behavior on a Friday night!! But did she get any beads? (tee, hee)

Speaking of beads, I still need to read Royal Street…

Have a great Thanksgiving hiding out if I don’t make it back before then!!

  4. Oh I am completely with you about avoiding the stores. Crowded places stress me out and turn me into a crazy person. I do 95% of my Christmas shopping online. 🙂

Great week on the blog and I’ve seen Hale Mary popping up quite a bit lately. Glad you enjoyed it.

Check out my IMM & SP.

  5. I’m definitely staying away from the stores as much as possible. I’m almost done with all my gift shopping, but do have to go to get some little odds and ends, probably on Tuesday. I’m still going to stay away from the major stores and go to a drugstore or something (I only need tissue paper and some bags and a few cards) so hopefully there won’t be too many people when I go.

Hale Maree looks really good, can’t wait to see what you think of it.
