Hi all! Today is my stop on the blog tour for Alight , which is the second book in the Pyxis series by K.C. Neal. I read Pyxis – book 1 – about a year ago and really enjoyed it (you can find my review HERE). If you haven’t read Pyxis yet, we are sharing an excerpt of it today.
About Pyxis (book 1):
Corinne lives an average teenage life working at her dad’s cafe, hanging out with her best friend, and trying to forget a falling-out with her almost-boyfriend Mason. Things take a strange turn when she uses her late grandmother’s food dyes for a bake sale, and her customers suddenly find her irresistibly alluring. Then she discovers she and Mason are haunted by the same dreams of a dark force that consumes everything in its path.
Pursued by shadowy figures and a crazy woman with secrets from the past, Corinne must find out who her grandmother really was. In her quest to unravel her family’s history, she learns she is destined to protect this world–and the dark world of her dreams. She races to find the answers she seeks before her nightmares break free.

Excerpt form Pyxis:
This is an excerpt from Pyxis, the first book in the series. Corinne first realizes things are not what they seem when she discovers that she and her friend Mason are having the same nightmares of a dark, consuming force. They don’t know it yet, but their destinies are closely tied together. In this scene, they begin to understand that they share something they can’t quite explain.
Corinne learns that there is a whole other world, called the hypercosmic realm, that our minds enter when we sleep. She’s destined to protect both worlds, but her grandmother, who was supposed to teach her how, is dead. To make matters worse, a crazy woman–who Corinne discovers is actually a distant relative–insists Corinne’s destiny is rightfully hers and wants Corinne permanently out of the picture. As this imposter attempts to take Corinne’s place and nightmares begin leaking into the waking world, she and Mason race to understand her grandmother’s past and her own future.
Thanks so much for having me on your blog, Christy! <3
