Sunday Post #7 (9/22/12)

The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Ugh, this has been such a terrible week. I’m slacking behind on so much!  I’m trying to get around to check your blogs as soon as I can.  I messed up my right elbow (I don’t know how), so it gets really sore and swollen.  I end up typing with just my left hand, which is beyond annoying.  And typing reviews is a freaking pain!  So if I owe you an email or something, I’m slowly getting to it. Promise ♥

Also, I have no idea what’s going on with Feedburner.  I saw a few people on Twitter last night cursing it, but didn’t know why.  When I checked mine, all my subscribers were gone.  I’m not really in the mood to deal with whatever is happening, so I’m just leaving it all alone for now.

What happened this week:

  • Flesh & Bone by Jonathan Maberry – Reviewed this wonderful book.  It’s the 3rd in the Rot & Ruin series, and a definite must read.
  • Careful by Isobella Jade – Reviewed for the blog tour.

Books I got:

Books linked to Goodreads

“True Grit meets True Blood” – That sounds incredibly awesome to me!

Cora and her husband hunt things – things that shouldn’t exist. When the marshal of Leadville, Colorado, comes across a pair of mysterious deaths, he turns to Cora to find the creature responsible, but if Cora is to overcome the unnatural tide threatening to consume the small town, she must first confront her own tragic past as well as her present.

  1. I’m sorry about your elbow! I’m a lefty but I don’t think it’d be much help with typing. 🙂 I don’t think I want to know about Feedburner, it’ll just make me cry.

Great review of Careful – I agreed with many of the things you did! The Lee Collins book looks very interesting – very cool cover.

    Feel better soon!

  2. I hope your elbow feels better soon! My husband had some similar happen to him one year and it sucked. I think he had to take antibiotics to finally get the swelling down so he could bend it. Something about an infection in the muscle, I don’t know it was weird!
Anyways, I hope you feel better soon!

And that book definitely looks interesting, I can’t wait to see what you think about it!

Thanks! Ugh… that doesn’t sound good. I dread going to the doctor, but I guess I better. Knowing my luck they’ll have to amputate my arm. lol

  3. I joined the fraterfest read a thon too! I’m looking forward to it, I have a few zombie books that I need to review, but zombies aren’t generally my thing… Anyhow, the feedburner crap, it’s just a big headache. I’m sure that bloggers will all find a nice solution soon, I should have waited to try to fix mine… I hope your elbow feels better soon! Book Savvy Babe

I’m not worried about it. I saw a post that Amanda @ On A Book Bender did, so I’m just riding it out. I subscribed to my own blog and I’m still receiving everything. Looks like the only thing messing up right now is the numbers showing up or something. I’m still not completely sure.

      Yay for Fraterfest!

  4. Ack, no, don’t think that way! My husband’s was actually a staph infection. We don’t even know how he got it, something about a small cut and it turning into something bigger that inflammed his muscle. It was super weird and like one in a thousand type thing to happen. Either way, I hope yours isn’t bad. If it doesn’t get better I would definitely go to the doctor though, I had to make my husband go and he was so glad afterward!! If anything it will at least give you peace of mind that everything is okay.

Uhh.. crap! Now I’m thinking I should just go to the hospital right now. I got MRSA when I was in the hospital like 15 years ago. Then a few years ago I got flesh eating bacteria around my kidney because a cyst and stuff.. well, they said I got the FEB because that MRSA is always in my system and can flare up over anything. Now I’m wondering if my elbow is because of that. -sigh-

  5. I hope your elbow gets better soon! Something similar happens to my mom, she just has to go in for a shot when it gets that way and then she is good. Hopefully yours just heals up on it’s own though!

Your book sounds really good, and being compared to True Blood!! <3
