Sunday Post #5 (9/9/12)

Posted September 8, 2012 | 29 Comments

The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Another week gone.  Blah.  My son and I have been dealing with allergies, but he gets them really bad.   It hasn’t been fun.

On the upside, the weather has finally cooled of to the mid – high 90s. Now if it would stay just like this all year, I’d be a  happy camper.

On the blog last week

  • Heidi forced me against my will to make a facebook page for the blog.  So make sure to “like” it! 😀
  • Posted Playlist & Giveaway for Reflection by Jessica Roberts.  Win a $25 Amazon GC.
  • Week #1 of the Cornerstone read-along.  You can still join!
  • Guest Post & Giveaway for Demons by Heather Frost.

  1. I liked your facebook page! I’ve been thinking about getting the books that are $2.99 but I know if I do I won’t get around to reading them…so I’m trying to hold off. I hope you enjoy all of your books!

Thanks, Michelle! Oh I know, I won’t get to read Masque of Death for a loooong while, but I’d rather buy it now at $2.99 than $9.99 later. I can’t pass up a deal. lol. Seriously though, if you haven’t read Partials, at least grab that one to read when you can. LOVED that book!

  2. Masque of Red Death!! I love that cover and everyone been’s singing praises for it, Under The Never Sky and Partials have been really lovely reads for me, hope you’ll enjoy reading all these books! Happy Sunday 😀

Yeah, I’ve heard really good things about Masque of Red Death. I absolutely LOVED Partials! Thanks for stopping by, Alicia 🙂

Haha – ugh, I know, I’m pretty bad at actually keeping up with the social media stuff. I’m trying to do better, though 😀

    • Christy

Yeah, I pretty much use it just to provide another alternative for people to follow the blog.

I know, aren’t those covers great?

Thanks for stopping by, Sandy! 🙂

I hadn’t heard of it until they sent it, but it does sound pretty good..

Have you read Dark Inside, the book before Rage Within? I love them so much!

  3. Mid 90’s is cool to you?! Crap, when its that hot I always tend to think I’m going to die from heatstroke. Good thing I live in the Pacific NW where much of the summer is just in the 80’s.

I still don’t have a facebook page for the blog. I did a discussion post last year to kind of debate whether its needed. I got a lot of mixed comments so I never decided. For me its just one more thing to do but now that I have the promotions business it would be nice to have to kind of alert people to what’s going on.

Ha, yup.. 100’s are too hot and 80’s are too cool. 90’s are juuuust right 😀

I’ve had the regular FB account where I had to accept friends and stuff, but I don’t get on often. So when I did, I’d have like 10-20 requests, plus 100’s of notifications for all kinds of crap. I’ve found the page MUCH easier to deal with. I would probably be a good idea for you to have one for the promotions stuff you do.

    • Christy

Ah, that stinks. I stopped using my library because they NEVER had any of the books I wanted to read. I don’t even try anymore 🙁

  4. Becky

ohhh, thanks for the deals! I’ve been wanting to read so many books from this post. I look forward to your review on the Masque of the Red Death. Here’s Ours

  5. Well it is a damn good thing I forced and bullied you into that FB page that already has over two hundred likes. I have a full confession on my blog about my problem. Thank you for the shout out! I got Portlandtown and contacted the author about doing Something Wicked. How could I not read a book about Zombies in my town? Have a fab week girl, thanks for being my pal and letting me let loose on your blog. I leave such nice polite comments everywhere Else. If only you lived closer we could go for coffee, even though you don’t like people!

I don’t like people or coffee. 😀 I’d totally have coffee with you… and shots! lol.

Cool! The book sounds pretty good, so I’m glad he’ll be part of SW.

Nice and polite is no fun. 😛

  6. You don’t like people?! Cool!

I think I’m the only one who didn’t pick up the cheap reads this week! I was withholding thru about 5 other blogs but now I’m rethinking and going to get Partials and Red Death (I already own Under the Never Sky). If they’re cheap for only a short time, well crap! Way to suck me in!!

I wondered who talked you into the FB page!! Niiiiice!

LOL – Thinking over my past posts and comments, I sound like such an anti-social, violent asshole. I’m not, though… well, for the most part I’m not! 😀

And I’m so glad you’re loving Cornerstone, because I would’ve kinda felt bad if you didn’t.

  7. Masque of the Red Death! I’ve been wanting to read that! You got some great looking books this week! Don’t you just love surprise books in the mail?

Thanks for letting us know about the deals going on, I almost wish I had a

    Have a great week!
