Chapters 8-16 Discussion Questions
1. Sam is admittedly drawn to Heven before they even meet. Why do think this is?
Because he’s a creepy stalker?  Haha – I don’t know, but I’m sure there is a reason though.
2. In an earlier chapter The Hope states that Sam must prove himself. During these chapters Sam does some things – bad things – (covering up murder, fighting, hiding a body, etc.) all to protect Heven and his true identity. Do you think he was right to do these things?
Well, ultimately those things were performed out of selfishness, so part of me says no, especially for hiding the body. Sam may have felt he was doing it to protect Heven, but a big part of it was that he was afraid of losing her, so it was for his own benefit too.
3. In chapter twelve Kimber says some thing’s to Heven that make the reader wonder about their friendship. Do you think there is any truth Kimber’s drunken confessions? If so where do you think Heven and Kimber’s friendship goes from here?
I’m sure there was truth to it; those were her feelings, but I don’t think it was something to ruin a friendship over.  If anything, it was probably good to get it out.  It could have been done a little differently, but those kind of feelings are sometimes hard to express.  If anything, getting it out could bring them closer, because maybe now both can be a bit more aware of their feelings.
4. Heven is changing, becoming more confident. Do you think that after something like this (her accident and disfigurement) happens to someone that she can ever go back to the person she was before? Do you think she will want to?
I don’t think anyone who experiences something so traumatic, is ever the same.  Stuff like that is literally life changing.  For Heven, I think she’ll have a different outlook – more humbled.
5. Toward the end of these set of chapters, Heven finds out Sam’s secret, who he really is. She has a strong reaction. Do you think you would react the same way? Why or why not?
Hmm… I think I’d be worried and pissed about the actual situation.  I mean, she has all these things stalking her; I’d want to know as much about them as possible.  I’d be drilling Sam for information.

And I’m still craving bubble tea!

  1. I had the exact same reaction when I read this book, I craved bubble tea and have yet to try it. Yes I agree, Heven will never be the same she has learned some valuable lessons, life changing. I don't know about Heven and Kimber I think their friendship is on rocky ground.
Yeah if Suddenly had creatures chasing and attacking me and then found out my boyfriend was one of them, well I would be a little ticked. Thanks again for participating, Sorry I have been off the blogosphere family in town. I will be back by next week in full force 🙂

  2. Good answers. I think you are dead on for five. I would be drilling Sam for answers too. Have you seen Cambria's video of the first time she tried bubble tea? It is very funny. I had assumed that Cambria had a fetish for the stuff and that's why she wrote it in for Sam, but she never tried it until after the book was released.

  3. Great answers! I would have been drilling Sam for answers too! What a crazy thing to find out about your boyfriend. I LOVED how Cambria really built up the suspense in finding out exactly what Sam was!

You can check out my answers from this weekhere

  4. I'm so bummed I haven't had time for this yet. 🙁 I was so excited and then Friday 13 attacked my April completely. Tablet and computer problem and sick family members. I'm hoping I can join in later. :/
