Ritually murdered corpses are appearing across Cincinnati, terrifying amalgams of human and other. Pulled in to help investigate by the I.S. and FIB, former witch turned day-walking demon Rachel Morgan soon realizes a horrifying truth: a human hate group is trying to create its own demons to destroy all Inderlanders, and to do so, it needs her blood.
She's faced vampires, witches, werewolves, demons, and more, but humanity itself might be her toughest challenge yet.
Who’s my favorite itchy witch? Rachel Marina Morgan is! The gang is back for the 10th installment of The Hollows series. And oh, how I missed them! I really don’t know what I’m going to do when the series is over, because this is the only one that I drop everything else for. I tried to read A Perfect Blood a little at a time, because I didn’t want the book to be over. At the same time, I wanted to tear through it because I love it so much.
So it’s been a few months since the whole San Francisco fiasco, and our Rachel is dealing with some major issues. She’s feeling left behind by Ivy and Jenks, she’s magically neutered herself, and now some crazy organization wants her blood so they can make demons. Seriously, the girl can’t catch a break! The group is killing witches is heinous ways and leaving them out in the open. The cases are unique, causing both the I.S. and FIB to work on them. You can guess how that goes. And of course, Rachel is in the middle of it.
Rachel goes through a lot in A Perfect Blood. Without her magic, she has to rely solely on her wits and her ass-kicking skills. People should know by now that they cannot keep Rach down… or locked in a bathroom. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to lose something and be kicked down as low as you can go to really appreciate what you have. She has to make one of the most important decisions of her life, and she has someone very interesting supporting her through it all
With Rachel being cut off from the ley lines, she’s more vulnerable. So what better to help keep her safe? A hot Were sent by her father to be her security. Yes, Wayde is a nice addition to the group. Another newish addition I’m loving is Belle, the wingless fairy living with the pixies. She can definitely put Jinx in his place. There are a few other characters that are introduced in this book that I really enjoyed. And Trent… Trent, Trent, Trent… what is Rachel going to do with that elf… *wicked grin*
Overall, did I love A Perfect Blood? Hell yes, I loved it! And I have to say, this is by far, my favorite cover of the entire series. Now I will pine away for Ever After until the 2013 release.
