This weekend I participated in my first read-a-thon – you can see my starting post HERE. But before I get to my wrap-up, I’m going to post my answers to the last challenge hosted by My Shelf Confessions.
In the event of a Zombie Apocalypse you are forced to take shelter with family and/or friends for a period of no less than 5 years. You have time to pack some supplies and some extra things to keep yourself entertained. However, since there will be many people sharing the same space, space will be limited and you are told you are only allowed to bring up to 5 books.
What books would you pack to sustain you? If you want to go a step further you can give a reason why you would choose the books you chose.
Oh man, only 5 book to last for years. Hopefully others bring some so we can swap. Mine would be..
1. The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks
Why? Isn’t it obvious?
2. The Time Traveler’s Wife
It’s my #1 favorite book
3. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Because at a time like that, I think we would need to be reminded to love
each other even in the worst of times
4. The Night Circus
I want to be able to escape to something wonderful and beautiful.
5. Beauty Queens
Have to be able to laugh. And if THEY can survive, then I’ll have hope
There it is
I didn’t do as well as I had hoped, but it was a lot of fun. My goal was to read 4 books this weekend, but I didn’t make it. Sometimes, I’m just way too easily distracted. And the other participants don’t help my lack of focus when they’re being entertaining on twitter 🙂
So what did I read?
1. The last 80 pages of Dearly, Departed
3. The Marsburg Diary
4. The first 70 pages of Dead of Night
Okay, so technically I read from 4 books, but didn’t complete 4 books. Thanks so much to My Shelf Confessions and Kindle Fever for hosting this. And thanks to all the other participants for contributing to all the shenanigans that made it so fun.
