Character Interview with Vicky from Bloody Little Secrets

I’m excited!  Today I have Vicky from Bloody Little Secrets here for an interview.  I loved this book and Vicky.

Here’s a description of the book….

17-year-old Vicky Hernandez has a big problem. She’s dead. Or not quite. After discovering she’s been turned into a vampire, she tries to settle into a quiet suburb of Chicago and return to a normal life.

If only she could stop wanting to bite her boyfriend. Not to mention she is dying to find out who turned her, and why. She doesn’t have to wait long before they come to her.

Hi Vicky, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Well, I’m seventeen, I’m kind of a vampire (I’m still just a *little* pissed about that) and I just moved to a new town near Chicago. I love hanging out with my new friends. My main hobby right now is trying not to eat people, but I’m hoping to pick up something new soon. Maybe knitting?
How are you adjusting to being a vampire?
It would be a lot easier if people didn’t smell like the most fabulous food items ever. Imagine there is a table in front of you covered with your favorite dishes, like deep-dish Chicago pizza, French fries, juicy burgers, cupcakes, brownies, whatever, and you can’t touch it. If you touch anything on that table, somebody dies. It kinda ruins it for you, but secretly you don’t care and you want to dive on that table and shovel everything into your mouth. So yeah, that’s tough sometimes. But I’m working on it. I definitely appreciate some of the other abilities though. Being able to run really fast and having super strength has really increased my workouts.
Be honest, are you at all disappointed that you don’t sparkle?
See, the problem with sparkling is what do you wear with it? You would seriously clash with everything in your closet. Your friends would be annoyed because they wouldn’t be able to look directly at you in the sunlight without going blind. And honestly, what does it really do? It serves no function, doesn’t make me stronger and I couldn’t possibly be prettier. And besides, I like to stay low-key, I’m not a flashy girl.
Is your homecoming dress something youwould’ve chosen to wear for your funeral?
It was a pretty awesome dress, but again, I’m not that flashy. I might have done something a little less formal. I mean really, dress-up clothes are generally not comfortable. And to think I’d have to wear it for eternity! I’d really have preferred jeans and a hoodie. But I’m sure that wouldn’t fly with my mom. I was really sad I had to ditch the dress though. I would’ve never gotten the blood stains and mud off of it. *sigh*
What are some of your favorite songs?
I like a little bit of everything…
Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People, Lighters by Bad Meets Evil, anything by Kanye or Adele.
If you could only drink one blood type for the rest of eternity, which type would it be?
That’s easy…Drake’s. 😉
Since you found out that there are obviously vampires in the world, do you think there might be other ‘paranormal’ beings out there?
I will definitely never say never. I won’t fully believe it until I see it though. It would be super awesome to see a unicorn. But werewolves are kinda lame. I could live without them, for sure.
Thanks for stopping by, Vicky.  Is there anything else you’d like to say?
Thanks for having me on the blog! I’m just trying to get the word out that vampires are people too. Just because we feel like we want to eat you all the time doesn’t mean we’re not really nice deep down. Hug a vampire today! (Just make sure they’ve already eaten!)
