Wild Wildfire Read-A-Thon: Starting Post + Updates + Wrap-up
on June 19th, 2012It’s #WWReadathon time again! Are you joining? I hope so! You can get all information and sign-up by clicking on the image above. I’m sure Rebecca @ Kindle Fever and April @ My Shelf Confessions have scheduled some fun challenges.
Make sure to join in on Twitter by using #WWReadathon
Okay, so I’m typing this up a few days early and plan to schedule it, because I’ll be out of town and won’t be able to start until Wednesday afternoon-ish. I’ll also add my updates on this post. So as of now, these are my goals:
- Read Monument 14 and Dead Reckoning
- Finish Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry. I’ve read 38% already

———————————
Day 1 – Wednesday
Book Read: Dead Reckoning
# of Pages Read: 102
I didn’t get to start reading until 9pm, but then keep dozing off. Tomorrow should be better
———
Day 2 – Thursday
Book Read: Dead Reckoning & Patient Zero
# of Pages Read: DR = 132 / PZ = 15%
I should finish DR tomorrow! The twitter party today was fun, and even got #WWReadathon trending
———
Day 3 – Friday
Book Read: Dead Reckoning
# of Pages Read: 103
Sheesh… I finally finished my 1st book for the RAT. Now I hope I can get Patient Zero completed.
———
Day 4 – Saturday
Book Read: Patient Zero
# of Pages Read: 13% of PZ.
I honestly don’t know why it’s taking me so long to get through this book. It’s really good, but it’s taking me forEVER!
Challenge: Kriss has a fun challenge that I decided to do at the last minute. It’s called Beach Soiree. We have to give our perfect beach, perfect date, preferred swimwear, and first choice book to read. So here are my answers…
Perfect Beach

Perfect Date

Preferred Swimwear

First Choice of Book to Read

Challenge: This one is called Party Up with Literature hosted by Preet.
I’m currently reading Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry, so there is a lot of action. There would definitely be a lot of music to get the adrenaline pumping, and for some messed up situations. If the characters were in a band, it would be some rock for sure.
Here is my playlist for the book:
– Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold
– Sacra by Apocalyptic
– Hells Bells by AC/DC
– Won’t Back Down by Eminem ft. Pink
———
Day 5 – Sunday
Book Read: Patient Zero
# of Pages Read: Haha… like 1%. So I’m a total of 64% finished with PZ.

Wrap-up
Okay, so I read Dead Reckoning and about 1/2 of Patient Zero during WWReadathon. I participated in a few challenges and crashed both twitter parties. It’s been decided that I’m going to marry myself when I turn into Atticus from the Iron Druid series for a day. Also, we now have a WWReadathon theme song! Woot!
Can’t wait for the next one in October!

Dead Reckoning and Monument 14 are books I look forward to reading. Keep reading, you’re making great progress.
Teaser Tuesday
I have Monument 14 on my pile as well! I put up a few more than I know I’ll finish, just in case, lol! I feel kinda insane now though, haha. Good luck!
We’re happy to have you join again!

So glad to see you participating, Christy! It’s been way too long since I visited (bad, bad girl)…but I think about you often, that has to count for something, right? lol Love how things are looking on the blog.
I’ve read one book so far and am hoping to try get 5 books read, but honestly that’s probably not quite going to happen. But I’m going to try! Goodluck!

Oh man, I totally agree that Seth Macfarlane is a hottie! All of your books look like creepy intense reads. Your musical choices have me intrigued with the connection to your books. Great picks!
